The EBWF logo flashed across the screen before broadcasting live from the Barclays Center in New York City. Renee Young stood in the backstage area, superstars and crew members milling about behind her. Her blonde hair was wavy and down, and she wore a dark blue blouse that accentuated her eyes. She began walking as she spoke into the camera.
Renee Young: Good afternoon, ladies and Gentlemen. I am Renee Young and I am hoping to get a word with some of the men competing tonight in the King of the Ring tournament. We are in the tournament’s sixteenth year, and there were remarkably first round byes on the bracket.
She journeyed into the kraft services area where more superstars and crew members were seated enjoying their lunch.
Renee Young: Here’s Dean Ambrose! Dean, you have a match tonight in the second round of the King of the Ring tournament. Can we have a quick chat about that.
Dean looked up, mid-chew and tentatively put down his roast beef sandwich.
Dean Ambrose: I mean, my lunch is going to get cold, but sure, why not?
She invited herself to a seat at his table.
Renee Young: So, how do you feel about your win over Titus O’Neil?
Dean Ambrose: Well, you know, Renee, that’s really in the past. I said I was going to beat Titus, and I just went out there and did what I had to do. Every superstar on this roster wants to win this tournament. We all want to get the world championship match at Summerslam, and my opponent tonight, Kevin Owens, is no different. He says tonight I’m stepping into his asylum? Well, I don’t know about all that, but I do know I’m stepping into a wrestling ring, and as it turns out I can out wrestle him any day.
He grabbed his sandwich and stood up.
Dean Ambrose: You’re pretty cute. You should give me your number.
He took a messy bite of his sandwich, and walked out of the frame as Renee blushed and the scene went to black.
