Sources close to the EBWF Administration are reporting that the finish for the Women’s Championship match between Natalya and Trish Stratus was a last minute change, resulting in the rare appearance by Wes Ikeda.
It is being said that the original plan was for Natalya to win, subsequently breaking Trish Stratus’ 274 day reign as Women’s Champion. There was some confusion backstage as a result of the change, leading many to believe that perhaps the change was made mid-match. This was further made apparent by a tweet from Wes Ikeda which stated: “I guess I'd do anything for her. Including coming out on Live TV when she flips the script and Y2J is on the other side of the building.”
It is not immediately apparent who decided to make the change, however Wes’ comment could indicate that the idea belonged to Natalya, perhaps out of respect for Trish’s long-lasting title reign. The two are known to be very good friends off-screen.
