Destroyer or Disappointment?

Post by Ben M »

It was Wednesday afternoon, and Kevin Owens had just arrived at the Verizon Arena in his rental car. Just as he was about to enter the arena, Cathy Kelley approached with a microphone and a cameraman.

Cathy Kelley: Kevin!

Kevin Owens: Yes, not-Renee?

Cathy was a little stung by that remark, but tried to keep her composure and smiled.

Cathy Kelley: I’m Cathy Kelley, actually. I’m new here.

Kevin Owens: I didn’t ask who you were... isn’t it your job to ask the questions?

Cathy’s smile faded.

Cathy Kelley: Yes. I...

Kevin interrupted her.

Kevin Owens: You want to ask about my match. Of course you do! I’m the greatest wrestler of all time, interviewing me could be the biggest moment of your career. So I’ll make it easy for you. Let me guess, you want to know how I feel about teaming with Samoa Joe in the Tag Team Classic? And whether I’m confident we can beat The Miz and AJ Styles?

Cathy nodded. She chose not to talk in case Kevin cut her off again.

Kevin Owens: Here’s the thing. There are two different Samoa Joes we’ve seen in EBWF. One is a killer. The man that destroyed everyone in the Royal Rumble, the guy that ended Jimmy Havoc’s reign as Gateway Champion. The other Joe we’ve seen is a disappointment. He’s been easily beaten by the likes of PJ Black and one of my opponents tonight, The Miz. If I get to team with the Destroyer, there isn’t a single team in this tournament who can stop us. If I get the Disappointment, I’ll have to do twice as much work. I can beat Miz and Styles on my own, but obviously it would be easier with some help from Samoa Joe. Let me make one thing clear, though. If Joe costs us this match, there will be severe consequences. Now if you’ll excuse me, Casey, I’m starving. Which way is catering?

Cathy sighed and pointed.

Cathy Kelley: Down the hall to the left.

Kevin grinned.

Kevin Owen: Thank you! I hope there’s pizza...

Kevin rushed towards catering as the scene drew to a close.
