At the start of 2017, Noam Dar and Tyler Breeze had asked for their release from WWE. Frustrated with their roles in WWE, and wanting to do more with their careers, Noam and Tyler had sought employment with EBWF, and after their 90 day no compete was up, they signed their EBWF contracts and debuted as a tag team. Eight months later, the Gorgeous Guys were just one win away from winning the Tag Team Classic, and becoming the new EBWF Tag Team Champions. As they arrived at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado, Tyler and Noam felt like they’d already won.
Tyler Breeze: Well, Noam, as Barry Manilow would say… looks like we made it!
Noam sighed in exhaustion.
Noam Dar: Aye thank Christ. That traffic was disgusting.
As they exited the car, Tyler shook his head.
Tyler Breeze: No, you daftie! I meant we’ve made it in EBWF. Tonight, we’re in the main event again. This time, if we win, we’ll be the champs. And you know chicks dig champions… our success in the ring will lead to success with the ladies!
Noam looked astonished.
Noam Dar: Daftie?! Me?! I’ll kick ye head clean off if you call me a daftie one more time!
Tyler couldn’t believe it.
Tyler Breeze: What? Why are you so angry? I see you call people a daftie on Twitter all the time… I thought it was a fun Scottish word.
Noam Dar: You wouldn’t use the N word!
Tyler Breeze: Of course not! Is da… the D word really on that level?
Noam Dar: Well, no really but it’s our word and I’d rather you not use it.
Tyler nodded.
Tyler Breeze: Okay, sorry. I just wanted to show a bit of unity with my Scottish brother. Look how far we’ve come in the past eight months. It took us about three months to actually get a match on Warfare, and now we’re main eventers! We’ve made it, Noam. We’ve made it to the big time. This is our time to shine.
Noam Dar: and like a CHAMPAGNE SUPERNOVA we will be the brightest stars in the cosmos my furry booted friend. We’ve been through a lot in our short time, a lot of women, a lot of highs and lows but we’re here. Biggest test yet though, former World Champion and Heath Slater! Slater bay bay!
Tyler Breeze: Well in the semi finals, we beat the new World Champion AJ Styles… so I think we can beat PJ Black. Besides, Heath Slater is just awful.
Noam and Tyler entered the Pepsi Center and walked through the backstage area, looking for their locker room. As they walked through the backstage area, they saw the Tag Team Classic trophy, which had been placed in the interview zone. To the left of the trophy, Mike and Maria Kanellis were stood with their arms around each other.
Maria Kanellis: Oh, Mike! Look how beautiful that trophy is. It’s so… shiny! Are you sure you’re not upset you didn’t get to compete in the tournament?
Mike Kanellis: Maria, baby. You know I love wrestling, so I always want to compete. But do you know what I love more than wrestling?
Maria smiled, and innocently shook her head.
Maria Kanellis: No?
Mike kissed her on the nose, which made her giggle.
Mike Kanellis: You. I love you, Maria, more than anything in the world. That trophy might be beautiful, but you are a thousand times more beautiful. It might be shiny, but your eyes shine every time I look at them. Winning a trophy would be nice, but Maria, having you as my life is like winning the lottery. There is nothing I want more than what I already have… you.
Noam and Tyler stared at them, incredulous.
Noam Dar: Oh. I think I’m going to spew, It’s Mrs and Mrs Kanellis! The only relationship worse than Trump and Pence.
Tyler Breeze: Yeah guys… can you get a room? At least get away from the trophy before it gets stained in vomit… or some other bodily fluid.
Tyler shuddered at the thought of it. Mike and Maria smiled warmly at them.
Maria Kanellis: You two are so silly!
Mike Kanellis: So silly.
Maria Kanellis: We were just having a moment. You’d understand if you’d ever been in love.
Maria’s tone was somewhat patronising.
Noam Dar: I mean, everyone knows your relationship is about as real as the watch on Mike’s wrist is. Soon as though cameras are off, it’s back to hating each other and driving in different cars. Me and Tyler are a true team!
Mike and Maria laughed.
Mike Kanellis: There’s nothing fake about our relationship, Noam. The only thing that’s fake around her is your fake charm when you try and get women into bed.
Maria Kanellis: Yeah, the women in EBWF see right through you, Noam! You’re a creep.
Tyler Breeze: Hey! Noam isn’t a creep. He’s been getting charm lessons from me. Come on, Maria… even you can admit I’m charming.
Maria shook her head.
Maria Kanellis: You’ve never charmed me, Tyler. You’re too vain, too insecure. If you really thought you were gorgeous, you wouldn’t feel the need to tell people that you were. Mike has never needed to tell me he was gorgeous. I saw it myself, the moment I laid eyes on him.
Noam Dar: Well it sounds like you need glasses hen, because he’s feckin ugly.
Maria wasn’t laughing any more. She looked angry.
Maria Kanellis: How dare you!
Maria went to slap him, but Mike held her hand, stopping her. He kissed Maria’s hand, then glared at Tyler and Noam.
Mike Kanellis: The mistake you two are making is thinking that Maria and I care what you think. Maria and I don’t want or need your approval. We love each other. Our love is real, and anyone who can’t see that is an idiot. You say you’re a true team, but you haven’t won anything yet. If you win tonight, sure you get your name engraved on that trophy, and you’ll get the titles too so you’ll be relevant for a while. But if you lose? In a few months, no one will even remember that you got this far. No one ever remembers the runner ups, because ultimately, finishing second still means you’re a loser.
Maria Kanellis: Well… not always Mike.
Maria winked at him, then giggled. Mike blushed slightly.
Mike Kanellis: Naughty.
Mike kissed Maria, then turned his attention back to the Gorgeous Guys.
Mike Kanellis: See you later, losers.
Maria Kanellis: Losers!
Mike and Maria made an L sign with their fingers, then brought their hands together to form a heart. They walked off hand in hand. Tyler had to hold Noam back.
Noam Dar: I’m sick to fucking death of being treated like we’re just some fucking loser gimmicked wrestlers sent in to take a fall. You’d think we weren’t in the final of the Tag Team Classic, you’d think Mike Kanellis is World Champion in fact the only thing he’s won is an STD off that silly cow. It grinds me to no end Tyler that we’re still treated like jokes, ah swear tae god we need to win this tournament and then I’m getting my hands on that plumped up dick. Hey Maria, Karl Anderson said you were shite hen!
Tyler Breeze: Feisty! I dig it, Noam. Make sure you show that fire against PJ and Slater tonight. I’m not worried about Slater, but PJ Black… it seems like every time he gets knocked down, he gets right back up.
Noam Dar: Like Danny Boy!
Tyler Breeze: Huh?
Before Noam could explain, Cathy Kelley approached the interview zone. When she saw Noam and Tyler, she smiled warmly.
Cathy Kelley: Wow, you guys are early!
The truth was, Tyler and Noam hadn’t even realised they had an interview scheduled, but Tyler quickly covered for them.
Tyler Breeze: Of course we are, Cathy. This is a big night for us.
Cathy Kelley: Great! Well let’s get this interview started.
After the cameraman had gotten set up, Cathy began the interview. The Tag Team Classic trophy was in the centre of the shot, with Noam and Tyler stood to the right of the trophy, and Cathy Kelley stood to the left.
Cathy Kelley: Thank you for watching this EBWF.net exclusive. My guests at this time are the Tag Team Classic finalists, Noam Dar and Tyler Breeze. Noam, Tyler, you’ve beaten three former World Champions already in this tournament - in the first round, you defeated Brooklyn Brawler and the ten-time EBWF World Champion, Chris Jericho. In the semi finals, you beat the current Gateway Champion, The Miz, and AJ Styles, who won his sixth EBWF World Championship at Survivor Series. Tonight you take on the man AJ beat to win the World Title, two time World Champion PJ Black, and Heath Slater, who won the EBWF Tag Titles with Black back in 2011. You must be delighted to have made it this far, and be so close to winning the tournament?
Tyler cocked an eyebrow as he thought about how to respond to Cathy’s question.
Tyler Breeze: Must we, Cathy? We are delighted to have won our First Round and Semi Final matches, of course, but we haven’t got our hands on the trophy yet.
Noam went to touch the trophy, but Tyler slapped his hand away.
Tyler Breeze: Speaking figuratively, of course. Here’s the thing, Cathy… Noam and I came here because we wanted to be successful. The Gorgeous Guys was our idea, and we’ve had the time of our lives since signing for EBWF. We love what we’re doing, but when we formed the Gorgeous Guys, our goal was to win the EBWF Tag Titles. And we haven’t done that. Not yet. We’re not happy to just “make it” to the final. We’ll be happy if we win it. We don’t want to be the runners up, we want to be winners. We want the glory and the gold.
Noam Dar: You seem surprised we beat those people mentioned Cathy.
Cathy Kelley: Well, they are huge superst-
Noam Dar: Correct. They’re great individuals but we said it from the start, we were the only established team in the competition and that alone is how we win. There is no miscommunication between us, no missteps and no leaders. We are the Gorgeous Guys, we are not Tyler Breeze and Noam Dar. However, a southern slack-jawed spanner has been thrown into the mix. Former Tag Champ Heath Slater with his former Tag Champ partner Justin G- PJ Black. They are a team like us and this makes it interesting, they’ve been apart for a long while now and are sure to have differences. PJ a former World Champion and his mind is surely set on regaining that championship right? Heath Slater’s only here for the payday so win or lose he still gets to feed his kids whereas me and Tyler have two goals in this, win the Tag Classic and take those belts. No ulterior motives in play, no outside distractions just straight winning the match. Tyler may have passed off on Heath, and sure he is the weak link in the team, but he’s still a threat, if anything the only good quality Heath has apart from sleeping with his sister is his Tag match skills. He’s something we have to take care of because if we don’t, we’re handing away our golden opportunity.
Cathy Kelley: So do you feel you want it more than PJ and Heath?
Noam Dar: Of course we do. The Tag division has been in disarray for a while now, Jimmy Havoc tried to save it but ultimately moved onto bigger and better things. Who would you say is more likely to want a resurgence in the Tag division? PJ Black or the Gorgeous Guys? Remember, as soon as an opportunity comes PJ will be running to a World Title shot.
Cathy Kelley: Well I guess-
Noam Dar: No guesses, it’s the Gorgeous Guys. There WILL be a Gorgeous revitalisation in this division headed by myself and my handsome partner here. PJ Black and Heath Slater, you just don’t have the care to put into this match. Hell, PJ doesn’t even want to team with Heath. PJ does not want to be in this tournament and that’s why we will win. Motivation, Teamwork and Gorgeous-ness-ess-ness.
Cathy Kelley: You sound confident. And determined.
Tyler Breeze: That’s because we are. We want it more - that’s a fact. For PJ Black, winning the Tag Team Classic would be a consolation prize. It might even be frustrating for him, because it means he’d have to put up with Heath Slater for longer. PJ sees this as a step down, he sees the Tag Titles as beneath him. The only title he wants is the World Title. And we get that he wants the World Title, Cathy - that should be the goal of every superstar on this roster. But this isn’t a step down for Noam and I, this is a step up. A chance to make a name for ourselves. A chance to prove that just because we’re gorgeous, charming and tell funny jokes, doesn’t mean we’re a joke in that ring. The only joke is people doubting us, and we’re not laughing. Those titles, that trophy, they’re ours.
Noam slapped Tyler on the back.
Noam Dar: Amen, brother!
Cathy couldn’t help but smile.
Cathy Kelley: Well one thing is for sure, there’s a lot of passion in both of you and a lot of chemistry between you! Noam, Tyler, thank you for your time, and good luck in your match tonight.
Tyler Breeze: Thank you, but we don’t need luck. Tonight, the world will see that we aren’t just gorgeous… we’re winners!
Tyler and Noam walked away as the interview drew to a close.
