Being Missed

The EBWF cameras were backstage in the Pepsi Center. The crowd cheered as the tron lit up to reveal the backstage area. The cameraman was following Renee Young down a corridor, and she moved to the hair and makeup area. Trish Stratus was seated in a chair, a makeup artist powdering her face.

Renee Young:Hello, Trish. Can I have a word with you about your match tonight.

The artist moved her blush brush and Trish dismissed her with a wave of her hand. She rolled her eyes as she looked pointedly at Renee.

Trish Stratus: Sure, I mean, I wasn’t busy or anything.

Renee Young: You’re facing Alexa Bliss tonight. It seems she had a few things to say to you…

Trish cut her off with a haughty laugh.

Trish Stratus: Did she have anything to say to me? Did she? Because what I heard was a bunch of talk about how bored she’s been, and that she wants to challenge Natalya. She didn’t have anything to say about me, because our sweet little Ms. Bliss is just too cocky. Instead of standing around, complaining that the Women’s Division has made her sleepy, maybe she should have been here all of this time putting in the work. I mean, as far as she’s concerned, she’s the only thing that makes us worth watching, right?

Trish was left shaking her head.

Trish Stratus: I don’t know where you’ve really been Alexa, and I honestly don’t care. Nobody missed you while you were gone. We didn’t even notice you weren’t here. It was actually kind of peaceful without you running around here all, little… and loud… and clingy. You know what I mean, don’t you Alexa? You just wish you could play with the big girls. You wish that we noticed when you aren’t around. You’re annoying, honey. The saddest thing is that you just don’t know it. You haven’t found your clique. There’s no one to sit with you in the lunchroom, so you just get louder and louder and say “Notice me! Notice me!”

She wagged her finger at the camera.

Trish Stratus: Do you know what the best part of being Trish Stratus is, Alexa? I don’t have to beg people to notice me. When I’m gone? The whole world notices. Which is why Jimmy Havoc had the good sense to put me on this episode of Warfare. It has been a little while since the EBWF Universe has had some Stratusfaction. And Alexa? They’ll get it tonight, when I beat you, and end your silly little notion that you’re going to get a Women’s Title match at Christmas Eve of Destruction. Now, Renee, if you’ll excuse us? I need to finish putting on my face.

With that, Trish dismissed Renee with another flourish of her hand. And the scene faded to black.
