Golden Goddess

Post by Nick »

The faint sound of “Kiss from a Rose” played in the background of the video package. Before long, the sight of Mandy Rose engulfed the shot. EBWF’s newest addition, all dressed in gold, smirked at the camera, her confidence oozing as the sound of her voice replaced the music.

MANDY ROSE
“In case you’ve forgotten, my name is Mandy Rose.”

Mandy took a moment to admire her physique, glancing downwards at her frame.

MANDY ROSE
“It’s not every day that someone makes history, especially someone with such a fresh face. But this Sunday at Christmas Eve of Destruction, this fresh, beautiful, gorgeous face will do exactly that. For the first time ever, there’s going to be a women’s Elimination Chamber, and you’re looking at the first person chosen to participate.”

She pointed to herself.

MANDY ROSE
“I know there has been a lot of talk…well, a lot of whining over my involvement. ‘Mandy hasn’t had one match in EBWF yet, and she gets to make her debut on pay-per-view, in a history making match for the women’s championship? How is that fair?’ blah, blah, blah. Yes, I am having my debut match on pay-per-view, in a history making match for the women’s championship. Is it that hard to believe? It’s not my fault I was in the right place at the right time. Just think, if it wasn’t me, it would have been Eva Marie. So I think it’s safe to say that everyone should be thanking me.”

After shrugging her shoulders, Mandy chuckled under her breath. Surely the fans would have rather Mandy be in the match than Eva Marie, or, so she thought.

MANDY ROSE
“Besides, a match of this caliber needs someone to draw as much attention to it as possible, and, well…look at me, I’m just the woman to do it. Just check the ratings from Warfare; the instant my music hit, not a single channel was changed. And you better believe every single wrestling fan in the world is going to stop what they're doing on Christmas Eve to watch me make history. But of course, I couldn’t be the only entrant; an Elimination Chamber calls for five others to…get whatever spotlight I decide to leave for them.”

She waved off that last comment and rolled her eyes.

MANDY ROSE
“Nikki Cross, or as I call her, the walking ball of grease. Ugh, I’m sorry, but I can’t help but shudder when I think about her. She really has a lot of nerve showing up places looking…and smelling the way she does. For whatever reason, I’m sure a lot of you think I should be scared of her. You see her as unhinged, ruthless, someone who will probably prosper in an elimination chamber. But that’s not what I see. I see someone with no self-control, someone who acts before they think. I may be new, but I know that kind of game-plan isn’t going to get Nikki anywhere near victory. Not that she had a shot at it in the first place, but…moving on…”

Her face said it all when it came to how she felt about Nikki Cross, a lot of looks of repulsion were flashed.

MANDY ROSE
“Little Miss Bliss...hm, you’ll have to forgive me for drawing a blank. I guess that’s what happens when you’re the type of person who talks a lot, but doesn’t really say much. Maybe under different circumstances, we could get along, but that’s a big maybe. I’m not sure how I feel about someone who yaps and yaps about ‘I deserve this, I deserve that’ when there are more worthy contenders. Actually, yes I do; I’m not a fan. Honey, let’s make this clear, you’ve had your time. You’ve had your moments, and look where you are now. Nowhere. So that means you deserve nothing, especially now that I’m here. Because now it’s my time, and Sunday is my moment. Which means, the only person who can sit here and talk about what they deserve is me, got it? Feel free to stick to your cutesy flips and tricks though. They’re…interesting.”

Mandy shook her head before moving forward.

MANDY ROSE
“Hi, Liv. I know you’re absolutely thrilled to see me. How’s it going, honey? Actually, on second thought, I don’t want to know. In fact, I’d rather you not address me, ever. The sound of your voice is just…upsetting. That, along with the fact that you have the vernacular of a fourteen year old boy who’s on his second attempt at 8th grade. I’d be happy to never be in your vicinity ever again, but unfortunately for me and the rest of the world, I’ll be subjected to you this Sunday. Look, I’m just going to cut right to it. Liv, I think you’re trash. Your style, your demeanor, your…everything is complete, total garbage. Maybe it’s just me, but that’s my honest opinion. Can you really blame me though? You and I, we’re just not in the same category. We come from two completely different worlds. Liv, you’re the type of girl who thinks it’s cute to dumb herself down. The kind of girl who drops a slice of pizza on the ground cheese-size first, but still eats it to be relatable. I’m the kind of girl you dreamed of being, but resorted to…whatever it is you’ve become when you realized you couldn’t make the cut. I’m so far ahead of you in every way that I’m offended that you’ve been given the honor of basking in the glory known as my debut match. All I have to say is, you better stay out of my way, and I don’t just mean on Sunday, I mean for the rest of your stay in this company.”

Although they had not yet encountered each other in EBWF, it seemed as though Mandy’s feelings toward Liv were much more hostile than they were toward the others.

MANDY ROSE
“Now I don’t know if you all have heard, but apparently myself and Trish Stratus look...similar. Well, myself and Trish Stratus fifteen years ago, that is. Now don’t worry, I won’t go all the way down the old lady route like the vast majority does; I personally think it’s great that someone who paved the way for the EBWF women’s division is still so devoted to it, even if the rest of her counterparts moved on with their lives years ago, I do. Anyway, Trish, I’m sure you’re tired of hearing others be compared to you, so I just want to let you know that I happen to disagree. I don’t see a resemblance because I’m so much hotter than you ever were. And fifteen years from now, your legacy will nothing compared to the one I’m about to create. We all know you’ve stuck around this long because you’re just so desperate to outshine your ex-best friend, but guess what? It’s not going to happen. It’s never going to happen, because the only shine around here will be that of the Golden Goddess. So Trish, if I were you, I’d seriously consider naming this Sunday your last hurrah, because at this point, you simply have nothing left to offer.”

She smiled mockingly, as if she was being polite and giving Trish helpful advice.

MANDY ROSE
“And Natalya. Natalya, Natalya, Natalya...I’ll give it to you, you’ve done very well for yourself. I mean, I suppose there’s a reason why no one seems to be able to get the best of you. But let me remind you that while you may have beaten everyone in this division thus far, as you so proudly declare every time you open your mouth, you haven’t beaten me. And that’s exactly why Jimmy Havoc brought me here, because he, as well as the entire EBWF Universe, is ready to watch you get knocked off your co-called throne, and he knows I’m the one to do it. I know you’re somewhere rolling your eyes, thinking I’m all talk, because as you put it, ‘all I did was beat up Eva Marie.’ But the way I see it, Nattie, is that I’m the only person in this match that you know nothing about. You don’t know my strengths, you don’t know my weaknesses, and you don’t know how I strategize. To me, that sounds like a disadvantage. Just think about it.”

Now, the smirk returned to Mandy’s face. Clearly she had done a lot of thinking in preparation for the match, which may be more than anyone would have given her credit for.

MANDY ROSE
“But it’s not just a disadvantage to Natalya. It’s a disadvantage to every single one of them. I’ve been able to sit back and watch all of my opponents in the ring. I know their go-tos, I know what they can do, I know everything about them. They, on the other hand, have no idea what I’m capable of. I may be a pretty face, but in this type of situation especially, I’m a real threat. I’m the threat. And that’s why I know I’ll be walking out of St. Louis as the new EBWF Women’s Champion, and the only woman on the roster who didn't fall at Natalya’s giant feet.”

She flipped her hair, still smirking. By now, she had crossed the line of confidence to cockiness, although it was doubtful that she cared.

MANDY ROSE
“This Sunday, yes, myself and the other five ladies will make history by competing in the first ever EBWF Women’s Elimination Chamber, but I will be the only one to make history by winning the first ever EBWF Women’s Elimination Chamber. I will be the one who finally brings an end to Natalya’s championship reign, and sets a real precedent of what it means to be golden in this company, all in my debut match. And the others? They’ll just be left laying on a bed of roses."

With that, the image of Mandy began to fade to black. For such a huge match to have as her first, Mandy sounded like she had it all figured out.
