Staking Claim

Hey everyone, sorry for the short one this week and the no show with Christmas Eve of Destruction. With the holiday season, work has decided to work us more than is needed, literally, most days we barely have any work to do, yet they've kept us around 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. It's pointless, but hey, it's money. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy and good luck Ian.

"Cult of Personality" could be heard in the background as Warfare cut backstage. There in front of a monitor, PJ Black stood as he watched the replay of CM Punk as he slammed the door shut on AJ Styles at Christmas Eve of Destruction. Black, with his back to the camera, lifted up his arms and crossed them in front of him. He stood there for a second before Renee Young walked up to him.
Renee Young: PJ, can I get a word with you?
Black turned his head to face her. He looked at her and without saying a word he turned his head back to the monitor as CM Punk held up the EBWF World Championship as he stood on the top of the ambulance. Renee lifted the microphone up and continued.
Renee Young: At Christmas Eve of Destruction, we witness two shocking events. The first, CM Punk taking to the microphone and sticking up for you for what AJ Style said about you a month ago. Then, later that night, CM Punk won the EBWF World Championship. What are you thoughts?
PJ Black: CM Punk. Look at him there. He's holding that championship like he owns it. Like he earned it. You want to know what I think about that?
Black turned around and looked at Renee.
PJ Black: You think because Punk took a stand in my name, it means I'm suppose to hop on the bandwagon and follow him like all the fools in the EBWF Universe? Punk's spoke about his opinions on AJ Styles, and he decided to use mine and Styles' beef to voice his agenda. Did Punk say everything that I wanted to say? Not everything, but yes, Punk did tell AJ Styles just like I wanted to do, but I didn't. You see Renee, with me and Styles, this thing goes beyond whats been said on screen or behind the curtain. No matter what Styles says I said. No matter what Styles says I did. I know the truth. I know what really happened and I don't need to bitch and moan wanting the approval of a group of people who pay to see me. Do you think their opinions of what happened matters to me?
Black pointed out towards the arena.
PJ Black: I don't need their approval. I don't need AJ Styles approval. But you Punk, I definitely don't need your approval. AJ Styles, he thinks that he's gotten the best of me. He's probably at home nursing his wounds wishing he retained the title, thinking that he's not only high on TCH, but high on life. And you Punk, you helped him with that by not letting me get my rematch. Instead, you come back and decide to stake your claim to a championship that honestly, you don't deserve.
Renee Young: Punk's a multi-time EBWF World Champion.
PJ Black: In 2013, but news flash everyone, it's the new year and this is 2018.
Black shook his head as he continued.
PJ Black: Listen, I don't know if Wes Ikeda finally invented a time machine or something, but the end of 2017 has really seemed like the resurgence of yesteryear. First Edge comes back and gets to give away a title shot only to stake a claim on another. Then, AJ Styles comes out of his cloud of smoke that follows him everywhere and stakes his claim on a title shot. Now, we jumped back into the time machine and we have yet another relic of EBWF historic past popping up staking his claim. Yet, I'm the one that has been busting my ass since 2015. I'm the one that has run this company the past few years. Was Edge around, maybe at King of the Ring. AJ Styles, he came and went. But you CM Punk, you haven't shown your face in I don't even know how long.
Black took a deep breath which gave Renee some time to speak up.
Renee Young: So you have no respect for CM Punk for standing up for you?
PJ Black: Did I enjoy seeing Punk go off on Styles? Sure. But just because Punk spoke the truth about Styles, doesn't mean I don't see Punk doing the exact same thing that he accused Styles of doing. Styles, he comes and goes getting whatever he wants. However Punk, you tell me how what you have done is any different. You first and only match since coming back, you win the EBWF World Championship. Does that make any sense? No.
Renee Young: But Punk did say he is willing to give you a shot.
PJ Black: Punk's not giving me anything. Watch it again Renee. Punk told me to go into the Royal Rumble Match and win. Then him and I can go at it at the biggest stage of them all, WrestleMania. It's very nice of you to give me the option Punk, but I don't need to have your approval. I want my championship back, believe me, but you're right, I don't to be given anything. Not like all of you. So you're right Punk. You're hearing it right here, right now. PJ Black, he's in. Let me be the first male to announce his entrance into the 2018 Royal Rumble. Put I'm not only announcing my entrance, I'm also stating that I will win the Royal Rumble and I will go on to WrestleMania where I will regain what is rightfully and justifiably mine. This is me, staking my claim.
Black looked into the camera before he turned his head to Renee.
Renee Young: With the Royal Rumble weeks away, your focus tonight should be on your match against Tommaso Ciampa.
PJ Black: I don't need to put my focus on Tommaso tonight. Tommaso is a good athlete, sure, but here in EBWF, it's proven that what has been done anywhere else in the world doesn't matter. What matters is what you do in this company, and Tommaso hasn't done anything. Just like with Samoa Joe, I'm going to prove that Tommaso may have been great in the indies. But here in EBWF, the only measure of greatness in 2018 is me. You can't argue it, I am the best this company has. It's not CM Punk. It's not AJ Styles. Those two might have just torn down the wall at Christmas Eve of Destruction, but do you know why? It's because this true champion was taking a vacation and sitting at home with a cold on in one hand and a hot piece of ass in the other. Punk and Styles got their 15 minutes of fame. They each got another title reign to add to their collections. But after tonight, after Royal Rumble, after WrestleMania, everything in the world will be right again and Tommaso Ciampa can walk around this company and say he fought the EBWF World Champion once, but he just wasn't good enough to get the job done. I'll prove that tonight.
Black gave a smirk before he turned and walked off. Renee stood there as she watched him walk away.
