OOC: This is a terrible effort from me. Been extremely busy but thats not an excuse. Sorry Matt.
Ted was backstage at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville for Warfare. He wore his standard suit and tie, with his Path to Glory Championship sitting safely over his shoulder. He stood still watching a flat screen television which showed the current match and the one that mattered to Ted most. On the screen was a "match" between Wade Barrett and Curt Hawkins. The match never really happened as Barrett was attacked by both Reks and Hawkins shortly after the referee signalled for the match to begin. Wade Barrett won the match, but at a high cost. After watching Wade Barrett be physically assaulted by Reks and Hawkins, Ted turned away from the television. As he walked off a camera man walked up to Ted.
Camera Man; Ted, Wade Barrett just became the number one contender to your Path to Glory Championship. What do you have to say about that?
Ted Jr: Cody Rhodes was once number one contender to MY title. So was Jimmy Jacobs, Kurt Angle, and Jeff Hardy. Guess what happened to all of them? They lost. Wade Barrett is nothing special and he will not take my gold from me. He was destroyed by Reks and Hawkins, two men who are nothing more than classless thugs. I am sick of having inferior opponents challenge for my championship. Do they deserve to have a championship match? No. Do they deserve to be in the same ring as me? No. But, because this company is run by imbeciles that want to pander to the masses I will have to step into the ring with people that are beneath me.
Camera Man: So Wade Barrett isn't going to be a challenge for you?
Ted Jr: He may have been a challenge for me when he was with Justin Gabriel, but now he is a shell of his former self. He doesn't have it in him to go the distance to beat me. When we face each other the end result is going to be the same as every Path to Glory Championship match this year. I'll win.
With that, Ted walked off leaving the camera man to find another person to interview.
Scene 2
Montgomery, Alabama was the next stop on Ted's journey. Ted was set to defend his championship on Warfare against the British Brawler, Wade Barrett. Holding onto the Path to Glory Championship for nearly 200 days had made Ted confident that his title success would continue, even though he was not successful in capturing the World championship on the last two occasions. Even though Ted was confident that he would win, he still needed to be focused to get back into his dangerous and winning ways and to get back into the World Championship picture again. Ted was dressed to compete as his match was coming up shortly. He wore his Path to Glory Championship over his shoulder proudly as he was approached by Matt Striker, who had a camera man following him.
Matt Striker: Ted, are you ready for your interview?
Ted simply nodded as Striker and the camera man got into place and began the recording.
Matt Striker: Good evening everyone and welcome to another EBWF.net exclusive interview. With me at this time is Ted DiBiase, who is set to defend his prized Path to Glory Championship against the returning Wade Barrett. Ted, tonight you face Wade Barrett who defeated Curt Hawkins to become the number one contender.
Ted Jr: He didn't defeat anyone Matt. Who got their ass handed to them last week on Warfare? Wade Barrett. Who couldn't even beat Michael McGillicutty on Total Recall? Wade Barrett. Now since you seem to know everything Striker, tell me why I constantly have to face losers that don't even deserve to wear this championship.
Matt Striker: Because the EBWF fans want to see this match?
Ted Jr: I know every EBWF fan out there wants me to lose this championship, but it isn't going to happen. I have already held this title longer than anyone else in the history of this company and come October 31, I will become the longest reigning champion in EBWF history. I will have outlasted people like Randy Orton, John Cena, Vampiro and many others. I may not be the World Championship, but this championship will make me the greatest champion ever.
Matt Striker: In the last couple of PPV's you have competed for the World Championship unsuccessfully. Does this weigh on your mind going into this match?
Ted Jr: When I competed for the World Championship I faced wrestlers worthy of being in the ring with me. Wade Barrett is not on their level and he isn't on mine.
Matt Striker: Any final words for Wade Barrett?
Ted Jr: If you think what Reks and Hawkins did was bad; just wait until you step in the ring with me. My Path to Glory Championship will not fall into the hands of an inferior wrestler.
Ted left Striker to go to his match.
Matt Striker: There you have it folks, Ted DiBiase vs. Wade Barrett is coming up shortly. For all exclusive interviews check out EBWF.net.
