Monsters

The Garret Coliseum was the home of EBWF franchise show Monday night Warfare and the crowd in attendance was already alive after a night of action packed contests. “Wherever I May Roam” by Mettalica hit the PA System and the audience popped in anticipation for one of their favorite EBWF superstars, AJ Styles. Wearing a casual dress shirt and slacks with a dark blue tie AJ didn’t appear to be ready for competition just yet, possibly wanting to get some things off his chest before his match which would be featured in the main event. After making his way down the entrance ramp to a well-received reception Styles retrieved a microphone before making his way into the ring.

AJ Styles: “Well, what can I say…? All good things eventually come to an end.”

Despite losing his World Championship in a controversial fashion The Phenomenal One still had a smile on his face.

AJ Styles: “Now, I didn’t come out here to make any excuses or place the blame on any particular thing. I just want you all to know that I fought my ass off at Sacrifice, just like I fought my ass off each and every night to remain the World Heavyweight Championship!”

His statement was strong and the crowd seemed to appreciate the effort from the former champion.

AJ Styles: “I’ll admit, I really had my hands full going into that match and I took my eye off the ball for one second and it cost me. One moment I thought I was in control and the next I was looking up at those big bright lights only to see Cody Rhodes holding the EBWF Championship.”

Mentioning the new World Champion garnered a bit of a mix reaction from the fans, mostly negative.

AJ Styles: “Don’t get me wrong. Cody Rhodes is a phenomenal athlete. See what I did there? But he is no AJ… Styles. He has had a string of victories over the past few months after coming out of his career coma and he topped it all off by pinning me not just once, but twice. Tonight, he has a chance to make it a trifecta when we go toe to toe, one more time, right here in Montgomery, Alabama!”

Cheap pop from the fans and Styles soaked it up before he continued.

AJ Styles: “See, I was prepared for this match when it was announced last week. It has been in my head constantly. But do I look prepared? No, because I’m not even dressed to compete tonight. If you all noticed earlier that Cody managed to get my attire and give this really creepy lecture on how I’m such an evil person who has so many flaws. Blah, blah blah. Okay, we all have flaws. Do I constantly look for pity from others due to my flaws? Hell no! I’m proud of who I am and everything I’ve done!”

The crowd responded a little bit louder due to the intensity in AJ’s voice.

AJ Styles: “Cody Rhodes, you have worked hard to get to this position. Yet, you still seem a bit depressed. Not to mention, jealous. Now, I can’t help the fact that I’m handsome and women find me attractive. I can’t help the fact that these people love me and consider me one of the best wrestlers in the business. That’s just me. The Phenomenal AJ Styles!”

Another cheap pop initiated.

AJ Styles: “Cody, you wanna call me a monster? Maybe I am a monster after all. Simply due to the fact that when I get into this ring, inside these four ropes, I’m coming at my opponent quicker than Jason Voorhees. I’m more vicious than Freddy Kruger and if nothing else I have the strength to get up and keep going as if I was Michael Myers!”

The cheers continued to ring through the arena after the great 90’s horror movie references. AJ Styles now had a smile on his face that showed his confidence level.

AJ Styles: “To be honest, I really don’t even see you as a monster Cody. You’re more like an Urban Legend than anything else. Something people don't really believe in. Hell, nobody believed in you. But just like Candyman, somebody chanted your name five times and boom! Here you are, reeking mayhem on the world around you as you see fit. Carrying around bags of who knows what, pouring spiders on people who are seriously arachnophobic.”

He did a little shiver, just to show the thoughts he was having at the moment.

AJ Styles: “You’re just a sick freak! A sick human being! You have no morals or any value for the others around you. You think I’m not a challenge, well I think you’re an idiot. I’ve been listening to people tell me that I don’t have the IT factor since I debut in this business. I still hear it every day from guys who don’t know what the hell they are talking about. Cody Rhodes, Kevin Nash, do you think I would have made it to where I am now without IT? I don’t think so. How about I just ask someone who knows. Do any of the people in attendance here tonight think I have IT?”

The response was overwhelming and for a fact it was yes.

AJ Styles: “See what I mean? These people can tell because they are the ones who pay their hard earned money to support us. They wouldn’t come to our shows if they already knew they weren’t going to get their money’s worth. People who have the mind frame of Kevin Nash are just ignorant to the time. He claims he wants me to seize the moment and he also thinks I should be thanking him. Yeah, after the games he played during my title match I should be thanking him, with my foot in his face. But that’s a story for another time and believe me, sooner or later that story is going to get told. Unlike tonight thought, when I take him up on that offer and I seize the moment by pinning the new EBWF World Champion.

Styles looked really confident after speaking and it was almost oozing from his pours.

AJ Styles: “I doubt if Cody celebrated his victory in public due to the fact that he’s too caught up on how society fears him, so I don’t know what the hell he does in his spare time. Probably collecting beetles, bugs, or something of that nature. Cody, I don’t know where your attention is these days. Maybe it’s on CM Punk and your match at SummerSlam. But here’s some advice, you better be focused on tonight! You better be focused on your match with me, because I am, and you better believe I don’t plan on losing again.”

Spoken loud and clear AJ Styles dropped the microphone and “Wherever I May Roam” filled the arena once again along with the cheers of the capacity crowd. He exited the ring and made his way towards the back as EBWF Warfare faded out to a commercial break.
