So Important.

Post by Cory »

Alone in the backstage area, Randy Orton adjusted the strap of his duffle bag as he made his way towards the main catering area. He rolled his eyes as a familiar figure approached him rapidly.

Renee Young: Hi Randy, do you have a quick minute to have a word about your match for the Gateway Championship at Wrestlemania?

Randy Orton: What is there to talk about? This is Wrestlemania. Everyone who has a match tonight has scratched and clawed their way just to get on the show, let alone those of us with a shot at a championship. So it goes without saying that this is a big deal in my career.

Renee Young: It goes without saying, huh?

Randy Orton: Yes.

There was a slight pause.

Renee Young: Really? You're not just jerking my chain?

Randy Orton: Why would I be?

Renee Young: OK, don't act like I'm crazy. Every time I try to get a word from you about a match you always act like it's the biggest imposition that you're even here.

Randy Orton: That's ridiculous. And also, this is Wrestlemania. Being on Wrestlemania itself is a huge deal. But I'm also fighting for the Gateway Championship. Do you know what the Gateway Championship means to me? What it can possibly become?

Renee narrowed her eyes at him.

Renee Young: Yes. Yes I do.

Randy Orton: Then you know how important this match must be to me.

Renee Young: Honestly, I think you're drawing this out as long as you can because when you finally cut me off.. it's going to be that much more entertaining to you.

Randy Orton: Alright, well now I'm offended. I gave you time out of my day to talk about my chance at the Gateway Championship. We could have been talking about my strategy, and about what Bobby Roode was talking about, and what my response is to his rambling. That could have been the topic of our conversation, but you had to get rude and accuse me of not caring about this match. It's WRESTLEMANIA, Renee.

Renee put her hands up in surrender.

Renee Young: I understand. I'm sorry, Randy.

Randy Orton: It's alright. Now please, ask me your questions.

Renee Young: Thank you. Okay, here goes. Randy, Bobby Roode had some choice words about you, calling you a...

Randy Orton: Yeah, I don't really care.

Randy walked off with a smirk as Renee clenched her fist. She huffed as she watched Randy walk away.

Renee Young: Damnit. Gets me every time.

The petite interviewer sighed and walked off in her own direction as the scene flashed and EBWF logo in the corner and went to black.
