Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
11:22 P.M.
.:: The camera was posted just outside of the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. A crowd of rowdy fans were standing behind a medal barrier that was being guarded by a couple of security guards. Some fans had signs that they had proudly displayed during WrestleMania and most were sporting shirts of their favorite EBWF superstars. The camera quickly jerked to the right as Bobby Roode walked out of the arena wearing a black pinstripe suit with a red tie. When the crowd saw Roode, there was a mix of cheers and boos. Roode, who was visibly ailing from his WrestleMania XVII match, slowly walked over to the barrier with a smile on his face and fist bumped a couple of young fans. Roode signed a couple of autographs as a couple of the fans could be heard cheering “Bobby Roode”. Renee Young walked in to the scene with a microphone and got Roode’s attention ::.
Renee Young: Bobby, sorry to interrupt… .:: Roode ignored Renee and continued to talk to a couple of the fans and pose for pictures. Renee raised her voice a bit ::. Bobby, can I ask you a couple of questions?
.:: This time Roode acknowledged Renee and gave his farewells to the fans that were around, then turned and gave his attention to her ::.
Bobby Roode: Go ahead Renee, ask your generic questions you ask everybody…
RY: Excuse me, Bobby?
BR: I just had my WrestleMania moment… sure, in the process I got beat down and RKO’ed twice by Randy Orton… but I just had my glorious WrestleMania moment. Please, do me the favor of ruining this by asking me about my thoughts on the match tonight!
RY: Actually, Bobby, I was going to ask you how you were feeling right now after that grueling triple threat match.
BR: Sorry Renee. Sorry I snapped off at you. I’m just exhausted right now, and not to mention, in more pain than you could ever imagine. Most men in this industry take one RKO from Randy Orton and they are done. Lights out. Match over. And, while this may not be something to brag about, I just took two RKO’s in the matter of minutes .:: Roode paused ::. It’s the classic story of two tales. On one hand Renee, I am beat up. To be completely honest, and I shouldn’t tell you this right now, I am all kinds of high on the best pain meds this companies’ trainers have to offer. I hurt in places I didn’t even know existed on my body. Men not as glorious as me wouldn’t be walking right now. Some wouldn’t even be awake yet… still laying knocked out from multiple RKO’s. .:: Roode paused and took a deep breath as he winced in pain ::. On the other hand, Renee, after my many years in this industry, I have impressed myself. I just fulfilled a dream of mine. No, strike that, I just fulfilled THE dream I have had since I was a child. All the years, blood, and sweat I have put in to my career came to fruition tonight. Not only did I compete in front of a sold out crowd at WrestleMania against two EBWF legends, I somehow was able to come out of that match with the victory… while also cementing myself as the number one contender for the Gateway Championship.
RY: So, competing at WrestleMania was your dream since you were a child. Does that mean that you have accomplished everything you wanted to accomplish here in EBWF?
BR: Let me correct you there Renee… my dream was not to compete a WrestleMania, where’s the glory in that? No, my dream was WINNING at WrestleMania, and 75,000 plus people in that arena and millions around the world saw me do just that. .:: Roode paused ::. Now as far as me having accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish… not by a long shot. While this was the dream come true, Renee, the beautiful thing about dreams are you can have a new one every night you sleep. Let me give you a preview of what my dreams tonight are going to consist of. Tonight, when I finally get back to my room and I lay my glorious head down, I will dream about beating one Dalton Castle to become the next EBWF Gateway Champion. Then, when that dream is fulfilled in the near future, I will have a new dream… a bigger dream.
RY: What will that bigg…
.:: Bobby Roode interrupted Renee ::.
BR: I’m gonna stop you right there Renee. I don’t want to even think about that bigger dream right now. Instead, I want to get to my room and envision my next dream. The gateway dream, to that bigger dream.
.:: Roode turned and acknowledged the crowd one last time before he slowly limped his way towards a car. He opened the door and slowly entered the car closing the door behind him. As the car drove off, the camera zoomed towards the fleeing vehicle before the camera faded to black ::.
EBWF House Show
.:: Two developmental talents were going at it in the ring at the EBWF House Show. The crowd, to say the least, was not impressed with the action that was happening. All of a sudden, the lights in the arena went out and the arena was filled with darkness. Suddenly the arena was lit up with video from the previous Monday Warfare. The crowd booed as the video of Bobby Roode smashing the Gateway Championship in the back of Dalton Castles head played. The point of impact played on repeat and zoomed in some various magnifications until the video stopped playing and the arena was once again black. “Glorious Domination” started playing throughout the arena. Bobby Roode was seen at the top of the ramp in a suit and tie combination as the crowd poured down a mix of cheers and boos. Roode sang along with his entrance song as he strutted down to the ring. Roode entered the ring and made his way to the center as a single spotlight shined on him. The music stopped and the arena was completely dark except for the single spotlight ::.
Bobby Roode: As you can clearly see, Bobby got his strut back! .:: The crowd continued the be split between cheers and boos ::. Look, I knew when I took that Gateway Championship and nailed Castle in the head with it that some of you wouldn’t be a fan. And for that, I am truly sorry. But some of you, if I had to guess, the ones that are booing me right now… just kept your eyes closed to the glorious that is Bobby Roode. I had to do something to open those eyes, and what better than the foreshadow the future of your favorite person? That smash to the back of Castle’s head was the beginning of a pretty bad week for him. Not only did he leave Warfare with a big headache, he also left WrestleMania a little lighter. Actually, he left Mania a lot lighter… a tag team championship lighter to be exact. Well, I have bad news for you Dalton, your misfortunes are not going to stop at WrestleMania. .:: The crowd booed Roode as he paused and smiled ::. Just before I came down here, I got word from management that I will be given my shot at the Gateway Championship in two nights at Warfare! You heard that right Dalton, have your boys pack your bags .:: Roode paused and smirked at the camera ::. And make your way to Arkansas so I can finish what I started a couple weeks ago. Put on your pretty little wings and have your boys put band aids on your boo boos, because in two nights time you will be stepping in to the ring with the man who single handedly defeating Randy Orton and AJ Styles at WrestleMania!
.:: The spotlight went off and the arena was again lit up by video playing on the screen. This time, the video showed Bobby Roode hitting Randy Orton with the Glorious DDT at WrestleMania. Roode was shown pinning Orton, and having his hand lifted up in the air by the referee. The spotlight came back on to show Bobby Roode standing the middle of the ring with this right fist in the air ::.
BR: Your winner, and soon to be NEW EBWF GATEWAY CHAMPION… .:: Roode paused and put his fist down ::. Dalton, let me tell you a little story. This past Sunday night, while watching your match that opened WrestleMania, I had a huge smile on my face. I sat there, watching you take hit after hit, fall after fall… and then saw you eventually lose your match and your title. That, however, is not what put the biggest smile on my face. The biggest smile came to my face when I saw your face after the match. Some people, when met with adversity, step up to the plate and handle it head on. The perceiver, they get better, they never want to lose again. I didn’t see a look of determination on your face that night. Instead, I saw a face of disbelief. A face that told me you had no desire to become one of the greats in this business. Simply put, your face showed me that you finally realized your fifteen minutes were running out. This Monday night, the clock on your championship run runs out, your fifteen minutes officially come to an end, and .:: Roode raised his fist in the air once again ::. there will be a NEW EBWF GATEWAY CHAMPION… THE GLORIOUS… BOBBY ROODE!
.:: Roode stood in the middle of the ring as “Glorious Domination” played throughout the arena again. The crowd booed more than they cheered this time as Roode lowered his and the spotlight went off leaving the arena completely dark ::.
