Path to Glory

Post by Tony S »

Sorry for the short one this week guys. I was planning on getting started on this earlier, but this weekend I was battling bouts of dizziness for some reason and I couldn't concentrate on anything. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy and I'll try to get back to my a-game here soon. Good luck Brian.

The video feed to the Warfare cut out abruptly, replaced with the grainy black and white picture of static. After a few seconds, the static started to dissipate and revealed the EBWF Tag-Team Champion, Michael Dante and Tommy End. Dante stood in the back, dressed in a suit. His half of the championships strapped around his shoulder. His hands were together in front of him. In front of Dante, Tommy sat on a backwards wood chair. Also dressed to impress, Tommy wore black slacks and a nice white dress shirt. His jacket laid over the back of the chair with Tommy’s half of the championships rest on top of it. This his arms crossed in front of him, Tommy looked down at the belt.

Tommy End: ”Dominance. That is what we said we were here to do. That is what we have done since we arrived.”

Tommy uncrossed his arms as he leaned forward. He put his hands on the EBWF Tag-Team Championship.

Tommy End: ”This proves that. These championships prove that Dante and I are the best tag-team on this planet. Now, we already knew that, but these championships prove it to all of you.”

Tommy placed his arms on top of the championship and relaxed on the back of the chair.

Tommy End: ”You all are the ones that didn’t believe in Dante and I. Regardless of our past. Regardless of the dominance we’ve show in every promotion we’ve been in. You wanted to doubt us. You wanted to think of us as nothing more than an afterthought. Now.. Now you have to notice us. Now you have to listen to us.”

Dante nodded as a smirk grew on Tommy’s face. The static slowly took over the screen once again.

The show continued without fail until the feed was cut once again. Static took over the airways momentarily. As the static faded, the Sumerian Death Squad stood in front of a chain link fence that caged a red boiler. A small puff of steam escaped from a pipe that traveled over the heads of the EBWF Tag-Team Champions. Both men were dressed in fitted suits. Dante had his championship strapped around his shoulder, while Tommy had his belt tucked up under his arm with the plate facing outwards. The camera moved in while another puff of smoke puffed out from the boiler.

Tommy End: ”Bobby Roode, I want you you to enlighten me. I want you to tell me where this “Path to Glory” that you’re on is going to end up? These stepping stones that you’ve been treading through. Johnny Gargano. Tommaso Ciampa. These two stones, they lead you down the wrong path. They lead you to the path that comes to this End.”

Tommy pointed to himself.

Tommy End: ”I’m not like all your past opponents. I don’t just show up with it benefits me. I not the brittle discarded skin of the viper I used to be. I’m not Tommy Wrestling. And I’m not a High One. No no.. I am the End. Do you understand that Bobby? Do you? There is no looking past me. There is no wondering what you’re going to do next. There is no tomorrow.”

Tommy shook his head slowly.

Tommy End: ”Don’t believe me? Let me give you two examples.”

Tommy slapped Dante’s championship belt and held his up to his chest and point to it.

Tommy End: ”Ask Dalton Castle and Grado what was next for them after they faced Dante and myself. Ask them just how we were their End. After you do that, then you can begin to understand what I mean when I tell you, going up against me will be your End.”

Tommy lowered the championship belt back down to his side and tucked it under his arm once again.

Tommy End: ”This little streak that you’re on? Ended. You going on and becoming the next EBWF Gateway Champion. Ended. Your dreams of ever being remembered in this company. Ended.

You see Bobby, you’re use to little stepping stones that you can easily skip right across. You’re use to the simple path. The easy path. The path with the least resistance. But you see, you must have skipped the wrong way, because this little “Path to Glory” you believe yourself to be on. It lead you to me.

It lead you to the toughest challenge you’ve ever faced Bobby. It lead you to a future that is undoubtedly filled with pain. Filled with torture. Heartache. Bobby Roode, this “Path to Glory” you say you’re on, it lead you whole new level over torment. The likes of which I’m sure you have never faced before.”

He paused as he took a deep breath. Tommy looked up at Dante for a moment before he continued.

Tommy End: ”You brag about taking not one, but two RKOs and surviving. Bravo. I’d clap, but I sorta have my hands full. I don’t know whether praise you for the win, or scold you for thinking that taking two RKOs is a real feat. Compared to my death kick, the RKO is small crick in the neck. Don’t believe me? You’ll find out soon enough Bobby. However, if I were you, I would pray that it doesn’t come that soon.

Until then Bobby, I want to you to think about this path. I want you to think about where it all went wrong. Did you take a wrong turn somewhere? Did you piss off someone? Did you put your gear on backwards? Then, once you figure out where it all went wrong. After that, I want you to think if there was anything you could have done differently. Or were you always destined to square up against me no matter what path you took. Because if that last bit is true. If it didn’t matter what path took, what road you went down, if they all lead to me, then you Bobby.. You were screwed.

If all that were true Bobby, it means that you were destined to fail, in a most painful way.”

An evil smirk grew on his face.

Tommy End: ”You see Bobby, you can ask anybody that has step foot inside that ring with me. My kick, it’s lethal. It can put your lights out just light that.”

Tommy snapped his fingers.

Tommy End: ”After that happens, it’s not only lights out for you, but it’s lights out for the rest of your stay here in EBWF. Because once I put your lights Bobby, there’s nothing that will stop me from doing it again, and again. Over and over again until someone realizes, whoa, this Bobby Roode guy, why is he in the title picture?

I’m going to make them doubt you just like I made Dalton doubt Grado. And if you don’t think that makes a difference, look what happened to them. They doubted each other, and the lost it all. So what do you think would happen if I made the entire EBWF Board of Directors to doubt you Bobby?

Do you think they’d keep you on this run you’re on? No.. They’d ship you back down to the bottom and if you’re lucky, they might keep you around to diddle daddle in the Breakout Division. That’s if you can still compete after more than one Owari Death Kicks. It’s possible, but they’re more devastating than an RKO.”

He shrugged his shoulders.

Tommy End: ”Now, before you get it in your head that I’m just another stepping. Before you think you can get past me into grandeur pastures. Stop. Take a deep breathe. And think about it again. Think about just who is standing across from you. Me.”

With another smirk on his face, the screen began to fill with static as Tommy stood there and looked into the camera.
