Hey Hey! Been a crazy day, just moved in to my new apartment! So that's why this RP is a little later than usual for me. Hope you guys enjoy it! Best of luck to Benjamin Button.
They say the greater the risk, the greater the reward. There is one man who we know without a shadow of a doubt is hoping and praying that there is some validity to that adage, and that one man is the EBWF Intercontinental Champion, The Miz. Last Monday on Warfare Miz shocked the world when he could have chosen anyone to compete against him at Summerslam, and instead of going for an easy victory he instead chose EBWF Legend Chris Jericho. Furthermore, The Miz not only put his title at risk challenging the Fozzy front man, but he also put his future World Title chances on the line as well. If Jericho is victorious at Summerslam The Miz will never again challenge for the World Title, and get this, that stipulation WAS HIS IDEA. That's how much a victory over Chris Jericho means to him, with everything to lose and nothing but respect to gain, one may think The Miz was feeling the pressure. However, if the last time an EBWF camera caught up to the "Awesome One" was any indication, he was as relaxed and confident as he always is. Don't believe me? See for yourself.
The scene opened up in a board room of some sort. At the head of the table sat Paul Heyman in a grey suit and EBWF black hat. To his right was The Miz who wore a dark blue suit white shirt and dark blue tie. He had his hair gelled and the Intercontinental Championship on the table in front of him. To Heyman's left sat Ken Anderson. Missing were the ladies of the group Maryse and Paige. As the camera zoomed in Heyman was talking and Miz and Anderson were listening intently.
Paul Heyman: I got to admit Miz, when you put your future World Title shots on the line, at first I was a little concerned. I was a little worried that you might have put the entire Coalition at risk, I thought it might have been a little stupid of you.. but then I thought to myself then something occurred to me that made me realize it wasn't stupid at all, something occurred to me that made me realize that what you did was ingenious... and what occurred to me is this.. by calling out Chris Jericho you proved to the entire EBWF nation that this faction this coalition, FEARS NOBODY.. and then by putting your shots at the World Title on the line.. showed everyone that this faction this coalition.. FEARS NOTHING. Some may call it risky, but I call i..
The Miz interrupted Heyman.
The Miz: It's not risky Paul. It's not. It doesn't matter what stakes there are if you already know the outcome. I could bet you one million dollars that Chris Jericho doesn't even smile during sex these days.. and sure I'd have a lot of money on the line.. but we know that he doesn't so it'd be a safe bet.
Mr. Anderson: Well how would we find that out? I mean how could that ever be official?
The Miz squinted at Anderson.
The Miz: It's just an example Ken, it was a joke about how Chris Jericho's never happy these days. Like he's so mad all the time at everyone that he wouldn't even smile during sex, which everyone is supposed to enjoy.
Mr. Anderson: Right but if you had one million dollars on the line, we'd have to find out for sure.
The Miz: Well whatever we could just throw Maryse at him or something, it's hypothetical! Actually Chris probably wouldn't even know what to do with a woman like that.
Mr. Anderson: He definitely wouldn't.
The Miz: The point I'm making before I was so pointlessly interrupted.
The Miz stopped and looked at Ken, which made both Anderson and Heyman smile.
The Miz: Was that sure it would be devastating to me, and to the Coalition if I lose my right to EVER again be the EBWF World Champion.. I mean of course it would. So it's a REALLY REALLY good thing it is DEFINITELY not going to happen, all week people have come up to me and they've asked me "Are you nervous Miz, are you feeling the pressure," and to those people I said "A.) Don't ever speak to me, and B.) There are two simple rules to follow when you are wondering if I'm concerned about a match. Rule #1 The Miz doesn't ever get nervous about a match. Rule #2 If you think The Miz may be nervous about a match.. see rule #1. Simple as that, it'd be like Broadus Clay being nervous about a wing eating contest.. no need. It's down right comical to listen to Chris Jericho talking about this match, like it's my honor to be in the ring with him.
The Miz smirked. As did Anderson. Heyman shook his head like that was a ridiculous thought.
The Miz: Like my putting such a stipulation like I did, was just because a match with me wouldn't have interested him. That is not at ALL why I put that stipulation on the match, I did what I did because I wanted to show him that THAT's how little I've considered the possibility that he can beat me. That's how little I respect him as a competitor. That I would put my chance to EVER be the EBWF World Champion again on the line.. when all I think about everyday is becoming the EBWF Champion again. I didn't call Chris Jericho out so I could have the honor of facing him, I called Chris Jericho out to prove that the only person in this company that is an honor to face is The Miz. I didn't call Chris Jericho out to prove how tough I was and how brave I was to not just take the easy win, I called Chris Jericho out to expose his LACK of toughness and that he isn't a legend.. that he IS the easy win.. because when you're facing me.. no matter who many matches you may have won, or titles you may have held, no matter who you are, or who you may think you are.. that is EXACTLY what you become.
Paul Heyman nodded and flashed a smile.
Paul Heyman: Chris can talk all he wants about how the Intercontinental Championship is "beneath him" well that's just fine because his grimey little overrated paws aren't going to get anywhere near it. The only thing that's going to be beneath Chris Jericho is the mat beneath his back as you beat the living hell out of him. That's why I was going to say you are a complete genius. Chris Jericho isn't the EBWF fans favorite person right now, but as you said they all have this preconceived notion that he is the BEST, that he is what he says he is a LEGEND. What a statement it will make when you PULVERIZE HIM proving that YOU are in fact the BEST and proving that YES there will be a legend competing in the Intercontinental Championship match at Summerslam, but that legend is not CHRIS JERICHO.. that legend is THE MIZ.
Anderson clapped his hands. The Miz wore a confident smirk on his face.
Mr. Anderson: That's right.
The Miz: Watching Chris Jericho these days is borderline sad. He's like the high school quarterback that..
The Miz changed his voice to an old man's voice.. with a southern accent for whatever reason.
The Miz: Took his team to state back in '63.
Back to his normal voice.. thank god.
The Miz: And still wants to show up to the games in 2012 and talk about it. Chris Jericho may have been in this business for a long time, and he might have beaten a lot of people, and he may have won some belts, but one man he's NOT going to beat, not tonight, not next week, not in 5 years.. if he's still alive.. is ME.. and one belt he's NOT going to be taking is the EBWF Intercontinental Championship. You may have been that good quarterback 10 years ago Chris, but your days taking the snaps around here ARE OVER. It's time to wake up and face the music, instead of continuing to try to make it like you do now. Seriously stop playing music.. it's horrible.. you're horrible.. but anyways.. open your eyes and look around Chris, this business is passing you by, the EBWF is MY team now. I'm the quarterback, I'm the leader, I'M running the show, and of course you'll come back with..
The Miz mocked Jericho.
The Miz: "Well then how come Cody Rhodes is the champion and not you.. meh meh meh meh." ..Really? You really think that because Cody Rhodes is the champion that makes him the leader of this business, Cody Rhodes.. really? Chris you know deep down if you're truly honest with yourself that the face of professional wrestling is not the one that is behind Cody Rhodes mask. The face of professional wrestling is the one you are looking at right now, the most must see, the most captivating, your favorite wrestler's favorite wrestler, yours truly.
Mr. Anderson was deep in thought while Miz spoke. He then retorted.
Mr. Anderson: Then the guy had the nerve to question your manhood, challenging you to come to the ring alone.
The Miz: It's funny Chris Jericho said he has nobody in his corner and that's the way he likes it. "I don't need any friends, I got myself and that's all I need..." said the kid who sits alone at lunch because he's a loser. Pretty convenient way to look at it there Jericho, pretty nice way of saying nobody wants to be around you, listen to new Fozzy jam with you, or hear you talk about the glory days when you actually mattered. You've alienated everyone in this business, and the friends you did have you break into their houses on live television. All in a pathetic attempt to have people still talk about you. Well simply put Chris, at Summerslam the only thing people will be talking about is how Chris Jericho went out of the wrestling business, NOT in a blaze of glory but in a bloody mess at the hands of The Miz.. and I'll tell you what I will play your little game, I WILL come to the ring by myself, not that these guys would have needed to help me beat you anyway, they simply would have just gotten a front row seat for the most brutal beat down that anybody has ever seen you endure.
Mr. Anderson started to sarcastically act like a kid.
Mr. Anderson: No fair! I want to come to the ring!
The Miz smirked as did Heyman.
The Miz: The way I see it, there's no need for this meeting, there's no need to game plan, all that's left for you guys, and everyone else to do is wait and watch. Watch as I single handedly dismantle everything that is Chris Jericho, professional wrestler. Because he feeds off this guys, he may act like he doesn't care about anyone anymore and that he feels like he's got nothing left to prove.. but you do, don't you Chris. Every time you come back, every match that you are in, you want to prove that you still got it, that you can still hang, that you are STILL that same quarterback that were back in '63.. So even though it's me that's risking my future world title shots, it's YOU that's risking SO much more than that, you are risking what your name means in this business, you are risking your reputation. You are risking the notion that Chris Jericho, is still a forced to be reckoned with and not just a washed up has been. But you know that already don't you Chris? No matter what you might say, no matter how you want to play it, you feel that pressure every time you compete against ANYONE.
The Miz was intense but he seemed to lighten for a moment, and said his next words full of brash arrogance.
The Miz: and here you are now facing someone that couldn't be further away from just any old body.. you are facing The Miz, you are facing the greatest performer in this business past present future whatever.. I'm the best of the best, the greatest of the great, and you may sit there and say that you have nothing to lose, but YOU HAVE EVERYTHING TO LOSE.. Lose this match after the way you talked down to me, after everything you said both on Monday and in your little rant this week, and the name Chris Jericho will be nothing but a memory. Lose this match, and you are going to lose a lot more than shots at the World Title, lose this match and you will lose your professional wrestling career.. and mark my words Chris.. you will lose this match.. as sure as I'm sitting here. So I guess it's ME that should be asking YOU.. are you nervous Chris?.. Because you should be..
Paul Heyman was happy to be the set up man.
Paul Heyman: And why is that Miz?
The Miz: That Paul, is because, I'm The Miz... and I'm..
The Miz looked directly into the camera. He spoke his last word very matter of factly.
The Miz: Awesome.
The Miz winked into the camera sending a direct message to his opponent Chris Jericho. As the scene faded to static. It would be a match with a lot at stake. A clash of two of the biggest names in Sports Entertainment, on the grand stage of Summerslam.
