Hell in a Hospital

Hell in a Hospital… it was a concept Braun Strowman had come up with himself. He thought his feud with Tommaso Ciampa was done and dusted after losing an Ambulance match at Fanniversary, but faced with the prospect of being left without a match at Christmas Eve of Destruction, Strowman had pitched his idea to the powers that be. Having seen innovative (and delightfully violent) match concepts such as glass tables and TLC4, Strowman hoped the idea of locking two superstars in a hospital and letting them beat each other up until one of them was knocked out cold would appeal to Wes Ikeda and co… and sure enough, he got the green light. It just so happened that St Louis had an abandoned hospital – Forest Park Hospital, which had closed 7 years earlier. A real hospital, complete with medical equipment left over from the days when Forest Park was a fully functional medical facility. This was going to be fun.
It was the Thursday before the pay-per-view, and Braun Strowman had taken a cameraman with him to look around Forest Park. The cameraman (Steve) seemed less than thrilled to be there.
Cameraman Steve: C’mon Braun… don’t you think this is a little creepy?
Braun Strowman: It’s very creepy. That’s why I love it.
The cameraman followed Strowman into the hospital and filmed him walking around it. One of the examination rooms Strowman entered had a brown stain on the floor. Strowman looked down at the ground, smiled, then looked up into the camera.
Braun Strowman: Come Christmas Eve, Ciampa, this floor will be stained with your blood. For too long, I have let you have the upper hand in our feud. You keep knocking me down... you put me in the hospital, so I thought it was only fair that I returned the favour. For too long, I have been a tamed monster. But not any more. No, it’s time I returned to being the monster of old. The guy that took out everyone who stood in his path. And that starts with you, Ciampa. This hospital has been abandoned for seven years... but come Christmas Eve, you’ll be taking up permanent residence here!
