What a Joke

First there is blackness, then one single light flickers on, everything is blurry. When the camera finally comes into focus Becky Lynch is seen standing up against a brick wall. She is wearing a black dress, and black dress shoes, when she finally looks up there is sadness on her face. The camera pans out to show the building that Becky is leaning against, it is a funeral home. Becky’s Mom comes up and embraces her, Becky puts her head on her mom’s shoulder and begins to cry. Her mom rubs her back and tells her everything will be okay.

Becky: “How Mom? Lynette was my best friend in the whole world, we have known each other since we were in diapers. I just can’t believe she is gone.”

Mom: “I know sweetheart, I can not even begin to imagine what her mum is going through. I would be a total wreck if this had happened to you.”

Becky:”I know she is a total wreck. I am trying to be strong for her, but it’s hard.”

Mom: “It is okay to let your feelings show Becky, you don’t always have to be everyone’s rock, you are human you know.

Becky: “I know that Mum, but someone has to be strong for Lynette’s mom.”

Mom:”I am so proud of the woman you are. I love you dear.”

Becky:”Love ya too Mum.”

The two women walk back inside the funeral home. Becky slowly walks up to the coffin to say her final goodbyes to her childhood friend. As she looks into the coffin Becky thinks about the terrible way her friend died. Being hit by a drunk driver had to be so scary for Lynette. The only solace that Lynette’s friends and family have is knowing that she died on impact and did not suffer. Becky kisses Lynette’s forehead, says a short prayer and walks away from the coffin. She walks down the aisle and takes a seat next to Lynette’s mom. The scene fades to black while the funeral service continues.

The scene opens up to Becky Lynch laying in her bed. She is wearing a black silk nightgown. Just then her alarm sounds, she rolls over and shuts it off. Becky climbs out of bed and heads for the shower. When she exits the bathroom she is wearing tight black leggings, blue t-shirt and black boots. She checks the time and realizes it is time to head to the airport, Becky is flying to Illinois for this week's Warefare. This week Becky faces Ruby Riot, she laughs aloud at the thought. Well there is no time for that now, Becky has a flight to catch. She grabs her bags and walks out the door. After a long flight, and limo ride to Becky finally arrives at the Allstate Arena. Becky finds her locker room and goes in shutting the door behind her. She sits on the black leather couch and takes out her schedule, she has about ten minutes until her in ring promo. Becky leans back and closes her eyes, but quickly opens them, all she can see when she closes her eyes is Lynette lying in the coffin. Such a terrible image. Becky gets up and leaves the locker room heading for the staging area. She arrives at the curtain and stops waiting for her music to hit. Suddenly Celtic Invasion by CFO$ hits the pa system, Becky comes from behind the curtain and gets a positive reaction from the crowd. She makes her way to the ring and steps in motioning for a mic. She puts the mic up to her lips, ad lowers it because the crowd begins “Becky” chants. Becky lets this go on for a few seconds then motions for the crowd to settle down. Once they have settled down Becky begins to speak.

Becky:”Thank you for that. I have to be honest, I have had a tough couple of days. I know that you all don’t care about my personal life, but I suffered a pretty big tragedy. My childhood friend was struck by a drunk driver, and passed away a few days ago. I actually just attended her funeral yesterday. Yeah, that was one of the toughest things I have had to do.”

The crowd begins a rest in peace chant, which lasts for a few seconds then Becky continues to speak.

Becky:”Thank you, that means a lot. Now there is a reason why I brought this to everyone’s attention. I have a match with Ruby Riot later tonight. Now it should go without saying that I am not in a very good mood, I am issuing a warning to Ruby. I am in no mood for all the ridiculous shenanigans that you bring out to the ring with you. We are here to fight each other, so let’s do just that. Fighting is what I do best and the rotten mood I am in will only help me to fight better. Something that you need to know Ruby is that I have only one thing in mind is licking someone’s ass, and tonight that just happens to be you.”

Becky smirks and continues to speak.

Becky:”Now you can prance out to the ring with your little sideshow and act like you are God’s gift to wrestling which we all know is a joke, or you can come out here just you and we can fight woman to woman. I really don’t care how you come out, it doesn't really matter. The result will be the same, I will win. Winning is what I do. As a matter of fact it doesn't even matter who I fight, I will win. Go ahead and bring out your little sideshow, I will take them down too.”

Becky looks directly into the camera and continues to speak.

Becky:”Ruby listen to me very carefully, I am not worried about facing you. Let’s face it everyone around here knows the truth, you claim to be the leader of the Riot Squad but I know that’s not the case. Liv Morgan is the real leader. She is the one who has been taking care of business here in Ebwf. You have just been along for the ride. Is that because you just can’t get the job done? It’s okay there is no shame in stepping aside and standing behind Liv Morgan. In fact, I bet that is what you will do. HIde behind her and let her fight your battles for you, that is the safe choice for you. Take my advice, I am in a hell of a mood, and I have no problem taking all of my anger and aggression out on you. When our match is finished the rest of the Riot Squad will have to pick up whatever pieces of you that are left, because I’m gonna tear you apart!”

Becky drops the mic and exits the ring. She walks up the ramp, when she reaches the top, she turns around to face the crowd with a twisted smile on her face.

The scene slowly fades to black.
