Pyro went off inside of the Simmons Bank Arena as EBWF Warfare went live on A&E.
Mauro Ranallo: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! I'm Mauro Ranallo alongside Nigel McGuinness.
Nigel McGuinness: Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we have a great night of action lined up for you. The tag team titles will be decided tonight in a gauntlet match. And we are just two weeks away from Wrestlemania 19!
Mauro Ranallo: There's no telling what will happen as we make our last stops on the road to Wrestlemania. First up tonight, we kick things off with some women's wrestling action.
"Glasgow Cross" hit the PA and the crowd gave a mixed reaction to the arrival of Nikki Cross who did her usual frantic entrance on the ramp way before proceeding down to the ring.
Nigel McGuinness: Nikki Cross is here to take on Becky Lynch tonight and the Lass Kicker is fit to be tied, Mauro.
Mauro Ranallo: Becky has made it clear that she wants her shot at Shayna Baszler after pinning her in singles competition, but with Trish Stratus having won the Royal Rumble, there's no opportunity on the horizon for Becky.
"Celtic Invasion" hit and Becky Lynch came to the stage without Winter. She sized up the crowd before proceeding confidently to the ring. The referee rang the bell as she got inside and Becky charged immediately at Nikki.
Nigel McGuinness: Becky is ferocious!
Becky got a waist lock take down and immediately pinned Nikki to the crowd's surprise. Nikki kicked out and got to her feet, hitting Becky with a forearm. Becky followed through with another waist lock take down. Becky pushed Nikki into the corner and kicked her. Nikki egged Becky on, wanting more and Becky followed up with a kick to the midsection. Nikki mounted some offense with a head scissors take down but Becky sent Nikki to the floor. Becky went to the apron and Nikki pulls out the ring skirt and pulled Becky to the floor. Nikki followed through with punches and kicks.
Mauro Ranallo: Fair to say that Nikki is the underdog here, but she's definitely showing some teeth.
They returned to the ring to break up the count, but Becky immediately went back to the floor. Becky tripped Nikki on the apron and Nikki fell to the floor. Becky swung Nikki into the ringside barrier multiple times and kicked Nikki into the ring apron. They returned to the ring and Becky got a near fall. Becky held on to a reverse chin lock. Nikki powered out, and then followed up with elbows but Becky went for an exploder. Nikki reversed and countered with a rollup for a near fall. Becky got up, angry, and hit a drop kick for a near fall.
Nigel McGuinness: Nikki Cross making a case that she is competition to be reckoned with in this division, but Becky seems to be coming up with an answer for everything.
Becky got a knee to Nikki's head and then hit an exploder. Becky kept on with a flying forearm and she got another near fall. Becky kicked Cross in the back of the head. Nikki seemed to be energized by it, and turned around with a forearm but Becky countered with a kick. Nikki subdued Becky with a forearm and then she got on Becky’s back for a sleeper. Becky backed her into the turnbuckle to get her to release the hold. Becky and Nikki exchanged forearms. Nikki kicked Becky in the corner and hit a few clotheslines. Becky sent Nikki into the bottom rope and Becky applied DisArmHer. The crowd cheered, trying to will the match to continue, but Nikki tapped out.
Mauro Ranallo: Incredible effort by Nikki Cross, but she couldn't overcome Becky Lynch.
Nigel McGuiness: I'm not sure that Shayna is going to get to keep dodging Becky at this rate, Mauro!
Becky's hand was raised in victory as Warfare took a commercial break.
As Warfare came back from commercial, the camera cut to the parking lot, where Aiden English had just arrived at the arena. The crowd cheered as English stepped out of his rental car.
Mauro Ranallo: Here comes the EBWF World Champion, who will be defending his championship against Chris Jericho in two weeks!
English was about to enter the arena when he was attacked from behind by Chris Jericho! Jericho knocked English down onto the ground and stomped on him several times, then pulled him to his feet and dragged him back towards his car. Jericho threw English into the car, then ran towards English and hit him with a knee to the face!
Nigel McGuinness: Did you hear the sound of English's head slamming against the car, Mauro? That's knocked him out cold!
As English slumped to the ground, Jericho crouched down and got in his face.
Chris Jericho: Who's the clown now, Aiden?!
Jericho dragged English to his feet and lifted him up, powerbombing him onto the windshield! As medical staff rushed onto the scene, Jericho walked way, grinning sadistically.
The camera cut to Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness at ringside, who were both looking sombre.
Mauro Ranallo: Shocking scenes just now, and we'll keep you updated on Aiden English's condition, but right now we've got Charly Caruso backstage ready for an interview with Trish Stratus!
The camera cut backstage, where Charly Caruso was seen standing in front of a backdrop that had the EBWF logo emblazoned on it. She smiled brightly into the camera and spoke into a microphone.
Charly Caruso: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the winner of the 2020 EBWF Women's Royal Rumble, Trish Stratus!
Trish stepped into the frame, wearing her long hair down, covering the straps on a simple black tank top.
Trish Stratus: Hey, Chuck.
Charly Caruso: Trish, you've been uncharacteristically quiet since your victory in the Royal Rumble match at the end of January. You are just a few weeks away from taking on Shayna Baszler at Wrestlemania 19. How are you preparing for that match up?
Trish Stratus: How am I... preparing? Well, Charly... winning the Royal Rumble was just the beginning of making even more dreams come true in 2020. Seeing that big Wrestlemania sign hanging over the arena, knowing that I'd be returning to the grandest stage of them all... there's no feeling like it. Then came the unexpected wild card of Shayna Baszler.
Trish chuckled to herself and shook her head.
Trish Stratus: Okay, I can roll with that. You see Charly. I've been around for years. I'm sure Shayna will mention that at one point or another in the coming weeks. I've seen them all come and go, but I'll still be standing here when Shayna is on her way out, returning to the Octagon where she came from. I'm looking to expedite her departure when I take the championship away from her at Wrestlemania.
Charly Caruso: What makes you so confident that you can win?
Trish Stratus: That's a good question. Partly, Charly, I think that I want it more. I think that Shayna feels entitled to the championship, and I think that I've earned it. I think that losing to me will be embarrassing for Shayna. So embarrassing she won't even want to show her face around here anymore. Shayna isn't here to represent EBWF. She's out for herself, and I don't think that's a person who should be the face of the EBWF Women's Division. I crawled so Shayna Baszler could run. I scratched and bit and bled all over that ring so some random cage fighter could come in here and disrespect everything the women's division has worked so hard for. I want to crush her dreams, simply because so many people think I can't.
Trish grinned.
Trish Stratus: Thanks, Charly.
Charly smiled after Trish as she left the frame and the scene faded.
Mauro Ranallo: Up next, we've got a tag team gauntlet match! Five teams will enter, and one of them will walk out as the new EBWF Tag Team Champions!
