Agent of Averageness

Post by Ashlee »

The scene opened backstage, joining Edge in the Rated RKO background. He was pacing behind the couch where Trish Stratus was sitting.

Trish Stratus: Adam, I know you're still very upset...

Edge: If that were true you'd stop telling me to calm down.

Trish Stratus: I just don't think this is productive. That's all. Look, I don't know what Mike is going through...

Edge: I've been nothing but kind to absolutely indifferent about that guy. Where does he get off?

Trish Stratus: I reached out to Mickie this week. He's going to apologize.

Edge: He's lucky Randy didn't break him in two.

Trish Stratus: I know. That was a remarkable amount of restraint on Randy's part. I'd hate to think what would have happened if you'd have been really hurt.

Edge: Did you say he's going to apologize?

She nodded.

Edge: Does he think that's what I want? An apology? I don't want an apology. I want to spear him into next year! He's had a week to explain himself. I'm not tagging you in tonight.

Trish Stratus: If he tags Mickie in you'll have to, Adam.

Edge: He's probably just the kind of coward that'll make her wrestle the whole match to avoid me. He knows what I'll do to him if he doesn't attempt the fucking sneak attack.

Trish sighed.

Trish Stratus: Adam, you two were friends once. Aren't you at least a little interested in...

Edge: No. I'm not. Because I already know what his problem is. He's an agent of averageness. An absolute nobody, and every big name on this roster is outshining him right now. When you ask to name the best wrestlers in EBWF, no one ever mentions him! Then someone when someone does they say, 'He's been around for a long time. He's alright, isn't he?" Just alright. Mediocre. Okay. Passable. And that makes him angry, and he takes it out on people that are better than him. Sneak attacks. That's who he is. That doesn't make him a bad guy. That makes him a coward, Trish. And I'm going to end him tonight. I'm going to end him, and Mickie is going to have to pick up the pieces and drag his ass home. Where they can live together in mediocrity forever.

He finally caught her eye.

Edge: Are you having second thoughts about our match?

Trish Stratus: What?

Edge: Do you have my back out there?

Trish's eyes went wide.

Trish Stratus: Of course I do.

Edge: Because you seem to think Miz can be redeemed. I need to know I can count on you.

Trish Stratus: You can always count on me, Adam.

Edge: Good. Tonight, I beat the ever loving hell out of Miz.

Trish Stratus: And if I have to pin Mickie, I won't think twice about it. We're going to win this match, Adam.

Edge: And we're going to make Miz sorry he crossed us.

Trish nodded and looked pensive as Edge left the room and the camera faded to black.

OOC: DJ and I have a storyline going for this match, but I wanted to put up a little something. <3
