Evan Bourne
Yeah, the atmosphere at the Destiny pay per view was amazing! The crowd was alive and rocking as always, every one of the wrestlers and divas that were in matches certainly did a great job putting on a great show for the crowd. For me personally it was a nice confidence builder as well as I finally got over the hump and won a match at a pay per view, one with title implications as well which was fantastic.
The backstage worker simply nodded his head and proceeded to walk away to as Evan stood there on his own for a little bit, taking a last few sips from his bottle of the water as he had now consumed all of the water inside of it, taking a look at the closest dustbin and proceeds to fool around for a bit pretending that he was a basketball player, evening going as far as providing his own commentary.
Evan Bourne
It’s the dying seconds of the fourth quarter; Evan Bourne has the game in his hands if he could make this jump shot. Here he comes, cruising down the court, oh crossover he shoots----
He proceeds to “attempt” to successfully toss the water bottle into the garbage bin, however he ends up missing the target as the bottle drops down onto the floor. It was definitely a little bit of an embarrassing moment for him as he takes his walk of shame towards the water bottle, bending down, picking it up and just placing it into the garbage bin carefully. It was a good thing that no one saw his little blunder that would have been REAL embarrassing! At least, he thought no one spotted his little gaff. However he heard laughing coming from a few feet behind him as he stands there frozen on the spot, with the laugh sounding very familiar to him. Whoever was laughing at him proceeded to step closer towards him and place their hand on his shoulder. He proceeds to turn around and sees that it was none other than the Sky High champion Maria Kanellis. She proceeds to giggle as she speaks.
Maria Kanellis
Aw! Nice attempt there Spider Evan, you may be able to hit that shot successfully another time.
He proceeds to rub the back of his neck as he was still a little embarrassed that she had spotted his little gaff.
Evan Bourne
Well, you just caught me at a bad time. I usually hit those jump shots nine times out of ten. Just a rare miss by me!
Maria Kanellis
OH! I see what you’re saying. You’re saying that I’m bad luck now aren’t I? I see how it is!
The both of them share a laugh as she removes his hand from his shoulder while he removes his hand from the back of his neck. He proceeds to look down at her waist where she wore her precious Sky High championship for quite some time now, before looking into her eyes and speaking.
Evan Bourne
All joking aside, you’ve seemed to become quite the successful woman around here haven’t you? Ever since you’ve won that Sky High championship, you’ve just been cruising along racking up win after win. Just when I didn’t think you could impress me and everyone else any further, this past Sunday at Destiny you beat THREE women, on your way to retaining your championship. If you keep up that rapid pace the Hall of Fame will be calling your name awfully quickly.
He proceeds to nod his head in approval while she just gently hits him on the arm with the compliment.
Maria Kanellis
Oh stop it! If you keep it up I’ll become redder than a tomato and I may just pass out from the heat! ~laughs~ sure, my win at Destiny was nice but it was nothing compared to what you did at the pay per view. I don’t think anyone, except myself was willing to give you a chance in your triple threat number one contender match but you went out there and pulled out the victory in amazing fashion, it was such a treat to watch. I know you don’t like it when I jump to conclusions, but I just can’t WAIT until you have the Path to Glory title around your waist, I know you’re going to win it!
Evan Bourne
I’m definitely going to keep my eyes on the prize that’s for sure. But that title match is still a long ways away, I got to take things one match at a time and I’ve got to stay focused. I can’t afford to lose any momentum heading into my title match. It all starts tonight when I go one on one against Alberto Del Rio. I know I was fooling around a short while ago pretending that I was a basketball player but honestly, I’ve been really focused in on Alberto this week. I’ve been thinking about gaining a psychological advantage over him…
Maria Kanellis
Psychological advantage? What do you mean by that?
Evan Bourne
Well, I know he always comes out to the ring in a car which is his trademark. I think during our match whenever I have him grounded I’ll walk over to the side of the stage, where his car is parked hop into the driver’s seat and honk the horn, or even just stand atop of the hood and practice my balance on it. I know he doesn’t take too kindly to people that get too close to his ride.
Maria Kanellis
EVAN!!! You can’t do that! Are you crazy?
He proceeds to burst out laughing as he runs the palm of his hand over the t-shirt that he was wearing before looking at her.
Evan Bourne
I was only kidding Maria. Don’t think I would be able to beat the referee’s ten count by doing all that but it was a funny thought right? In all seriousness, I’ll have to stay focused against Alberto because he was bred to compete in the ring and has wrestling in his blood. One wrong move and he’ll be quick to take advantage of it. One thing is for sure, I’ll have to make sure not to be caught down on the mat for too long. That will just be easy picking for him to set up the cross arm breaker and try to rip my shoulder out of its socket. Every match leading up to my Path to Glory title shot will be important as every person I lose to would definitely further there claim on being next in line for a title shot after me.
Maria Kanellis
That’s one way to look at it, but every match is an important one. If you take any match lightly, you’ll be regretting it for a while.
Evan Bourne
I agree with you there, the moment that bell rings I’ll be determined to walk out of the ring with a “W” and build on my big win at the Destiny pay per view. Speaking about the match, it’s almost time for me to head out to the ring for my match. Don’t worry; if you’re still concerned about my antics about ambushing Alberto’s car during the match, it won’t happen I promise!
Maria Kanellis
It better not happen! Or you and I will be having words mister. Hold on! One last thing before you go out there.
Before Evan could question what Maria had in mind, she quickly shows him as she leans in and presses her lips against his, with a quick good luck kiss as she parts his lips from his before seductively waving at him and walking off. This was it, all the laughs and jokes were out the window now for Evan, he was nothing but determined and focused in on his match against Alberto Del Rio.
OOC: Thanks to Stephanie for usage of Maria.
