The city lights flew by overhead Baltimore; skyscrapers, office windows, streetlights and more all seemed to blend together to form a wild dance of color in the sky above. Raven’s footsteps splashed and disturbed all of the puddles along the asphalt as he ran through the empty lots, cutting a path through the raindrops on his way into the fields. The stars littered the sky like a landfill of, the moon shining bright and full in contrast to the dark, blackened clouds looming above the city. All of the beautiful imagery above served a nice contrast to the whirling, violent scenes inside Raven's head. He knew not to where he was running, only that the path before him was lit with a red glow only shown to his eyes.
Raven: Traveling is starting to get the best of me, I think. For far too long I've traversed this planet while putting my body on the line, working for peanuts and cheap heat from brainwashed morons. I once sought to open their eyes, but let them be blind; ignorance is bliss, after all. My pain, and my punishment, have been a centerpiece of the EBWF diorama for over three months now, and, finally, I have fulfilled my destiny to become champion.
As he sped through the night, it seemed that all he passed fell to cinders; the people, the trees. . . everything but the lights and the rain. . . it all turned to ash. The past all crumbled away as he rushed towards whatever may come, not knowing how long it would take to get there or how long he had been travelling. The past months had brought his life to stand-still, his message choked and halted from take-off as his platform imploded around him. The more his mind raced, the more destruction he saw around him. . . the lights began to explode, the rain melted everything away as it poured from the sky. Thoughts and emotions sprung from inside Raven, bursting forth in the sky like fireworks as his eyes set ablaze with determination. . . he had come this far, and no demon or man would make him turn back now
Raven: The Balor Club takes center stage once again at Warfare, The Misfit’s of the EBWF.. are leading the charge. We reached the pinnacle of this sport only to see the fruits of our hard work begin to rot. Against Austin and Colten Gunn, perennial pawns taken in our game of human chess against those who fail to see.
The explosions began to overtake the night sky, all of the glorious colors turning to a crimson red as grey clouds rolled along.
The bright moon began to shine like a ball of balefire as the ash and debris formed a whirlwind around the Raven and the earth around him began to rumble and shake. He finally slowed his pace and eventually stopped, falling to his knees and looking upwards into the hellish heavens created within the depths of his mind. He kneels alone on the only plain of earth left standing; the world around him all crumbled and fell away into the lake of fire below
Raven: I no longer plan to open the eyes of those unfortunate souls who let themselves be led around on leashes. After all, do you not put useless animals out to pasture? Those who refuse to follow will simply be pushed to the side or, rather, beaten into submission. None amongst the EBWF or even Austin and Colten Gunn can break the Balor Club’s will, none can match our spirit. The world of professional wrestling thinks we turned out backs on them, but, as it was, they were never on our side at all; We don't play well with lesser species.
Steam and smoke began to rise, and with it a calm, silvery water surrounded the plateau; the ripples curled and bent, each drop of rain sending shivers across the reflecting pool. Raven let out a primal scream, the sound waves visibly echoing from his throat into the air as the sky responded with a streak of lightning. His gaze fell to the ground for a moment before a clap of thunder ripped across the sky, tears of blood flowing from his eyes and pooling beneath him. He rose to his feet and looked out across the water, a faint beam of light shining beyond the horizon.
Raven: Finn and I are the predator’s, and we have stalked these grounds long enough to know them like the map of scars carved into our bodies. Though we may be damned, We must serve our purpose as the scourge’s of this industry. It is our will and determination that have brought this task to us, and we gladly accepted the mantle long ago. However, perhaps foolishly, we believed that it was our purpose to let them all see so that they may purge the EBWF themselves. Was it a failure? Perhaps. I prefer to think of it a wake-up call.
Stepping out onto the reflecting water, he found it to be like solid ground beneath his feet; each step left a bloodstain beneath his boot that seeped and veined out across the water. Tears streaked down his face and dripped from his chin, each drop falling to the pool and sending ripples of blood from the impact. The silvery water slowly turned to a sea of blood as Raven soldiered on towards the horizons and the lights that awaited him there. Each step came easier, every inch forward strengthening his resolve and bringing another vision of the rising phoenix that lay ahead
Raven: I am not what I once was, but now something far greater once i joined the Balor Club. A mere mortal with a mission is still nothing more than a stack of bones, flesh, and blood. Together Finn and I are something far greater now than before. I had once thought myself a falling star, descending from the heavens down amongst you. But now I realize that I am a rising star, a vessel plucked from the masses and pulled upwards so that I may rise and blind.
He had been a martyr for the sins of the past, and his own sins had made him a traitor in the eyes of the masses. He walked alone, until uniting with the Balor Club the past destroyed and a new day dawning. . . now it was truly time for the revolution to begin. Raven and the Balor Club would ascend to their throne and rule over the masses. . . With every step, the sins of the past were left behind to be washed clean and the sins of tomorrow were left to be written down in blood and he would see that the price for every sin would be paid
Raven: I see the hierarchy of the EBWF for what it is, a black and twisted organization that has been misled. My task of takeover has stayed the same, it is now my methods that are different. Fuck their tradition of greed, and power, and star lust; The Balor Club is all that matters. My will and my spirit know no limitations, nor does my body. My pain tolerance has no threshold, nor does my ability to administer punishment as the king of pain. Together The Balor Club will reign supreme from our throne as kings, and destroy any who try to lay claim to our title.
The lights grew brighter and brighter until they shone a blinding white in front of him, but his eyes, though glassy and red, would not look away. He knew that the future was held within the blinding beams, and that he was the only one who could reach them. . . he would be the first to see them, and the one to rule over the fate of the entire industry. But, suddenly, all went dark. . . the fires in the sky went out, the rain stopped, and all was still.
Raven: I am a vessel through which the message flows, a blight on the society that rejected me, and a pillar unto the industry. I know what is right; I know now what's best for all of you. I can see for those who can't and will be a shepherd to the blind, leading all the sheep to slaughter. They can call the Balor Club a monster, but I know the truth. The insults matter not for I can see amongst the blind; I can think amongst a sea of idiocy. I am the Breakout Champion, the Christ that has come to wrestle power from the true monsters of the industry. It's been a long, strange trip, but I've traveled these rails long enough to become the conductor. Soon they will all see; soon they will all accept us, hand over your life peacefully Austin and Colten Gunn or Finn and I will BE FORCED TO RIP OUT YOUR HEART’S FROM YOUR COLD LIFELESS BODIES....
With a deafening clap of thunder, the lights came to life again, and he could see the gigantic rig in front of them. . . endless rows of bright, blinding lights shining onto him and illuminating the sea of blood with the names Austin and Colten Gunn pasted on the walls. A smile crossed his lips as he stood before the viewer , proud and defiant.
a vessel plucked from the masses
