State of the Miz Address

OOC: Hey guys, here's my RP for the Gauntlet. Best of luck to everyone. -DJ
THAT close. That's all The Miz could say about his most recent chance at once again becoming the EBWF Champio n. He was just THAT close. CM Punk found a way time and time again to get his shoulders of the mat just in the nick of time before finally catching The Miz off guard and nailing him with the GTS to begin his fourth reign as EBWF Champion. It was the second time in the past 3 months that Miz entered a match with several other competitors that he just didn't seem to have any luck at key moments in the contest. One had to wonder how he'd react in his first post Elimination Chamber appearance. The answer was a rousing declaration that he was going to put his Intercontinental Championship up for grabs.. willingly.. in a gauntlet match. It was perhaps the most "Un-Miz" thing he's ever done in his entire wrestling career, but it was obvious to any EBWF on looker that this was a new Miz, hell bent on proving that there is some bite to go along with his bark. Prevailing this coming Monday with his title still around his waist would without question do just that.
The scene opened up in a room that resembled the oval office. There was a fancy desk, and an office chair in the center of the shot, that was inhabited by the EBWF Intercontinental Champion, The Miz. He wore a grey suit, Mizzes hair was slicked back and he at first had his back to the camera. The IC Title sat on the desk directly in front of the champion. Moments later Miz swung around to face front, his suit included, a pin that was a cool looking "M" It was placed in the spot politicians wear the American Flag pin. He had a very confident looking expression on his face, but there was no arrogance in it. He seemed very focused and sure of himself.
The Miz: Good evening my fellow Americans, Mizfits and Miztakes alike. As you obviously all know, I'm Mike "The Miz" Mizanin. The face of professional wrestling, your favorite wrestlers favorite wrestler, but most importantly your EBWF Intercontinental Champion. Thank you for joining me tonight, for what will be the "State of The Miz" Address. There are a number of things, and a number of individuals that I want to touch on here tonight. We will talk about all things Miz, and for my money I can't think of anything you'd all rather hear about. So without further ado let's get right into it.
The Miz folded his hands on the desk.
The Miz: After my return several months ago, I had one goal and one goal only, and that was to make it seem like I never left. The obvious strategy to achieve this goal was to do something BIG, something that caught people's attention right from the get go. As you all know what I decided to go with was to join Paul Heyman's Coalition. Heyman made promise after promise to me, and even decided to sweeten the deal letting me know that Mr. Anderson would willingly drop this Intercontinental Title, if I helped them put one over on all The Mizfits. Little did Pauly know, I was actually going to put one over on him and his little band of losers. I agreed to join the Coalition, took the title from Mr. Anderson, and shortly thereafter was on my merry way, leaving Paul Heyman in the same position that he takes when he's eating an apple pie, face first on the mat, with a Skull Crushing Finale. Happy ending? Not quite, you see Mizfits, as the weeks went by, despite successful defenses against Christian and Chris Jericho, I started to feel something, that I hadn't experienced much in my career, I started to feel guilty.
A dramatic "Dahnn Dahnnnn Dahnnnn" was heard and Miz looked up in an almost cheesy way at the sky, reacting to the sound effect.
The Miz: I was as shocked as you are, I started to feel guilty in the sense that out smarting Paul Heyman, is like hooking up with Linda Hogan for anyone except for Hulk Hogan.. way too easy. I felt bad that I was the EBWF Intercontinental Champion, and I did it in a way only a scumbag like Hogan could feel proud about, the finger poke of doom. So I thought to myself, "awesome one."
The Miz paused.
The Miz: That's what I call myself.
The Miz smiled.
The Miz: I thought, "awesome one" you need to continue to prove to these people, what a majority of them already accept as gospel, what I'm referring to is the fact that I am, and will continue to be, the most captivating, the most must see, and the BEST Intercontinental Champion in the history of this company. So I thought "awesome one" how can I best accomplish this. How can I finally silence the naysayers who claim that I don't deserve to be the Intercontinental Champion. The answer I came up with, as you all heard on Monday Night, was to willingly put it up for grabs in an open gauntlet match. A title suicide move for anyone who wasn't completely and utterly certain of victory. The reason for my confidence, aside from the fact that I'm.. well me.. is that right now I'm officially "seeing my own blood" metaphorically speaking. This past Sunday I outlasted all members of the Elimination Chamber.. except for one.. when CM Punk pinned me to the mat to win the EBWF Title, something was triggered inside of me. I became something that I haven't been in a long time, I became dangerous. It's no secret that I've always been a confident person, I've even been called arrogant as a competitor but have ALWAYS been able to back up what I've said.
The Miz shook his head as if the thought of his latest two losses troubled him.
The Miz: Falling short the past two times, I've had a chance at becoming the EBWF Champion, was the wake up call I so desperately needed. The losses have transformed me from a cocky care free narcissist to the determined, vicious, back against the wall Miz, that sits before you tonight. This MIZ, is not and will NEVER be someone you want to see in the ring across from you.. and this MIZ is the same MIZ that is going to rip whoever is stupid enough to try and prove me wrong to shreds in the gauntlet match this Monday Night.
The Miz bore a hole through the camera with intensity.
The Miz: This gauntlet match on Monday Night will feature a lot of hungry competitors. Superstars just DYING for their chance to get their hands on some gold. It will feature young and old, rookies, veterans, and whatever you want to consider Hogan and Hall.. but believe me when I tell you this Mizfits.. who the match features.. is IRRELEVANT. They all may as well be blurred faces and bodies. Anything that steps in my general vicinity I'm going to destroy. What kind of person ASKS for this type of match? What kind of person ASKS for his title to be thrown up for grabs against numerous opponents in one single match? I'll answer that question for you.. someone who wants to inflict as much punishment on as many people as humanly possible in one sitting.. that's who. I don't say this a lot Mizfits, but I'm frustrated. I hold myself to the highest standard, because I am the cream of the crop in this business, so not winning, not achieving what I set out to achieve is unacceptable! This Monday Night, is my redemption. This Monday night is MY TIME for EVERYONE to be smacked in the face with a big dose of reality that The Miz is STILL a man who's bad side you NEVER want to be on, and that The Miz is STILL a man that when he sets his sights on something, he ALWAYS delivers. I'm frustrated Mizfits, but thankfully for me I'm going to have many many eager but clueless superstars to take that frustration out on. Sucks. To. Be. Them.
The Miz adjusted himself in his chair, before continuing.
The Miz: I say they are clueless, because I've heard them all week long. The way these guys are talking, it sounds like in their minds that this is the chance of a lifetime. Guys like Christian, Curt Hawkins, Kane, Dean Ambrose.. whoever that is. Are thinking that this is their ticket to the top, that this match is their foot in the door to stardom. When in all actuality the allure of this match is nothing more than all of these "pigs" being fattened up to be slaughtered. Right now it seems like it's too good to be true. Guys who are just arriving to EBWF can enter this match, what a way to make an immediate impact, right? Wrong. What the men who are beating down the door to be in this match don't realize is that, the light of the end of the tunnel, that is winning MY TITLE, does NOT exist here. I am not letting go of this belt, and though a title shot may never come along again for some of these guys, this will NOT be a title shot that they will be able to take advantage of. This is NOT a title shot that will change anyone's life, this is a title shot in words only, because there is nobody in this match that actually has a "SHOT" at my "TITLE." Take a guy like Christian, he's had his chance at this title already, one on one, me and him, and I made it painfully obvious that I was way out of his league. I made it painfully obvious who the better man was. Now throw in the fact that I am exceedingly more reckless now than I ever thought of being when I faced him a couple months back. The result? A once proud superstar who will look in the mirror, and realize that his best days are behind him. A once proud superstar who will look in the mirror, and realize that he was never anything more than a tag team wrestler who never did and never will hack it on his own. A once proud superstar who's spirit will be completely crushed, AGAIN, by yours truly, The Miz.
The Miz smirked gaining more and more confidence as he spoke. His tone really inflected that he was set out to not only win this match, but to hurt his opponents, and make a huge statement.
The Miz: Or a guy like Kane. Who during his time in EBWF has been nothing but an aside. Whether he's "stealing souls" or doing whatever he does with Tyler Reks, he's as far away from being the "Big Red Machine," as he's ever been. Kane was once someone to fear, someone to be intimidated by, but when I look at him now, I couldn't be less afraid, or less intimidated. Kane has become a joke, except nobodies laughing. All my Mizfits are doing, is looking at him and saying "hey remember when Kane actually scared people?" or "Hey remember when facing Kane was something people didn't want to do?" To answer those questions, I'll simply say "No." Because THAT'S how long it's been. Give me Kane, 100 times out of 100. I'll face him any day of the week. In fact, I wish we could clone him, and roll out 15 Big Red Retards for me to face in this gauntlet. The name Kane used to mean something, but those days are over, and trust me when I say they are NEVER coming back. Kane may think this is the match that can pull him out of obscurity, but all it's going to do is assure people further that he's as done as done gets. Mask, no mask, crazy, funny, whatever Kane he's trying to be, it won't change the fact that the one thing he WILL NOT BE after Monday Night is the Intercontinental Champion. FACT.
The Miz rolled his eyes, as if he was frustrated at the imbeciles who have spoke out on him this week.
The Miz: When you drop a bombshell like I did this past Monday Night, openly putting your title on the line against ANYONE.. you have no choice but to expect the unexpected. You have no choice but to not blink with surprise at anyone that comes out of the woodwork, with a chip on their shoulder, looking to make a name for themselves. With all that said, I still got beyond surprised when I heard from Dean.. Ambrose.. I think it was.
The Miz flipped through some papers on the desk in front of him.
The Miz: Yes Ambrose. Dean Ambrose with regards to this match is like the kid who shows up to a basketball pickup game when you have an odd number of guys, and you let him play just so the teams are even. Dean has no business being in this match, but because it's technically open to anyone, I guess we've got to let him "play." After Monday Night though this reject will think twice before he throws his name into a hat it doesn't belong in, ever again. I'm not sure who the guy is, what he's trying to prove, or who he's trying to impress.. but Monday Night the second he steps in the ring, he becomes my opponent, which means he becomes my enemy.. and now more than ever Mizfits, my enemy is the WORST thing you could ever be. I know you Dean, I know what you're trying to pull. I know what you're trying to do. Acting confident and cocky to hide your own insecurities. Acting self assured in an effort to make people think that you may actually be worth a damn. I was you Dean, I did the same EXACT things.. but then I realized that the only way to make people think you may actually be worth a damn.. is to.. ACTUALLY BE WORTH A DAMN. You are a nobody Dean, and no false bravado is going to change that. All the confident and smug words in the world, is not going to put the talent in your body to defeat me for MY Intercontinental Championship on Monday. If Trent Barreta doesn't rid this place of you on Monday Night, I promise you, I. WILL.
The Miz once again adjusted himself in his chair.
The Miz: I've digressed though Mizfits, because the individuals in this match simply don't matter at all. I have a one track mind right now, one aim, one focus.. and that is to ensure that every single man that is misinformed enough to think that victory is attainable on Monday Night, will be left with nothing but regrets. My intent is to ensure that every man that is careless enough to enter this match on Monday Night, will look back on this night as the night they should have JUST. STAYED. HOME. The long and the short of it Mizfits, as that when I'm coming to you tonight to deliver this "State of the Miz address" I'm coming to you tonight, to inform you my state of mind going into this match Monday Night, and that state of mind can be summed up in one simple word... Ready. I'm ready to bring truth to my words, ready to bring validity to my threats. I'm ready to ensure that if I EVER present the locker room with an opportunity like this again, that EACH and EVERYONE of them will say "thanks, but no thanks." I'm ready to ensure that EACH and EVERYONE of them will want NO PART OF ME, and most of all I'm ready to ensure that EACH and EVERYONE of them leave this match knowing and truly believing that they never had a chance due to the overwhelming and resounding truth.. and that truth Mizfits, is that
I'MMMMMMMM THE MIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
AND I'MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
AWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
The Miz moved his right hand in a motion to say "cut," and the scene faded out to static. Time will tell if The Miz will be able to overcome what seem like insurmountable odds, but the self proclaimed "Best Intercontinental Champion of all time," seemed more than ready to do just that.
