Floyd (Chris Jericho)

Post by Ben M »

It was the Fanniversary pre-show, and Renee Young was running through a preview of the card with her pre-show co-host, Michael Cole.

Renee Young: Tonight, EBWF is celebrating 20 years, and I have to say with the matches we have booked tonight, this show has the potential to be one of the best pay-per-views in EBWF history! Kicking things off, we've got a ladder match to determine the new Gateway Champion. That match features the return of CM Punk, who was the first ever Path to Glory Champion... a title that was later combined with the Intercontinental Title to create the Gateway Championship. Punk will be determined to claim gold on his return to the ring, but he'll have to fend off Edge, Paul London and Tommaso Ciampa to earn the title.

Michael Cole: Of course, anything goes in a ladder match, and although our next pay-per-view Christmas Eve of Destruction is famously our most "extreme" show of the year, there are two other matches on tonight's card that will be fought under extreme rules. Raquel Diaz will finally defend the Women's Championship against Becky Lynch in a Hell in a Cell I Quit match, and we will also see Miro make his EBWF in ring debut as he goes one on one against Chris Jericho in a Trick or Street Fight!

Renee Young: Although Miro is not officially under an EBWF contract, he appears to be working with Aiden English and Kingdom, and the Bulgarian Brute is expected to be the fourth member of Aiden English's Warfare Games team next Monday on a special edition of Warfare. The winner of Miro's match with Chris Jericho tonight will earn his team an advantage going into Warfare Games...

A video package began to play giving an overview of the rules for Warfare Games and recapping Miro's involvement over the past few weeks.

Michael Cole: Warfare Games will be an historic event, and we can now confirm that the Warfare Games match between Team Jericho and Kingdom will be commercial free! No matter how long that match goes, you will be able to see it in its entirety.

Renee Young: And speaking of Chris Jericho, we understand he has a few words to say about his match with Miro tonight!

The camera cut backstage to Chris Jericho's locker room, where Jericho was standing with Cathy Kelley.

Cathy Kelley: Chris, tonight EBWF celebrates its 20th anniversary, and as someone who has been with EBWF since day one, you have wrestled hundreds of different superstars inside an EBWF ring over the past 20 years. Tonight though, you have something which is a rarity for you at this stage of your career – you will be wrestling an opponent you have never wrestled before, Miro. How are you feeling going into this match?

Chris Jericho: I'm excited, Cathy! I've been in EBWF for 20 years, and I've been wrestling for over 31 years now. In that time, I've wrestled over 2,700 matches. So you're absolutely right, it's rare for me to be in the ring with someone I haven't wrestled before. But don't forget who you're talking to. Throughout my career, I have consistently broken new ground. And yeah, Miro is tough. He's been trying to take out my Warfare Games team one by one, and I'm sure Aiden English wants Miro to make sure I don't make it to Warfare Games next week. But I'm not intimidated by Miro, nor am I afraid of being in a "Trick or Street Fight". In fact, I've even brought a friend...

Jericho turned around, and reached into his duffel bag. He then pulled out a black baseball bat.

Chris Jericho: I call him Floyd. And Miro, be warned... Floyd is going to bash your skull in!

Jericho began laughing maniacally as the camera cut back to Renee Young and Michael Cole.
