We hear the sound of Christmas bells jingling as MJF and Richard Holliday are shown sat in a coffee house, drinking hot chocolate (with marshmallows) from their Dynastic Coffee coffee mugs. MJF speaks in voiceover, while we watch a montage of scenes.
‘Twas the night before Christmas, in Kansas City,
Steve Austin was feeling pretty damn shitty,
Knowing retirement was just moments away,
Because I’m MJF, and I came to play,
No wait, that’s not my line, I’m not retarded,
That guy’s a has-been, my career has just started,
We see the exterior of the flagship Burberry store on E 57th Street in New York City. It cuts inside, to where MJF is buying dozens of Burberry scarves, the assistant gift wrapping each.
Where was I? Oh yeah, Steve Austin’s still here,
Still collecting his paycheck, year after year,
MJF walks over to a homeless person (who looks remarkably like Holliday) sitting in the street. He gives him one of the gift-wrapped scarves.
Year after year after year after year,
Deluding himself due to cases of beer,
Thinking that he might still have what it takes,
While lacking the sizzle of his boy JR’s steaks,
MJF is shown cooking Christmas dinner for his family, who totally aren’t paid actors pretending to be his family.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not tryna be harsh pal,
Don’t beat me as hard as poor Debra Gale Marshall,
I read it was bruises and a bloody nose,
Shame you save it for spouses and not in-ring foes,
Not only Debra, but then Tess Broussard,
Is beating on women the way you get hard?
A closeup shot of a burning fireplace pans across to a box of firewood, labelled “Cheap Heat Firewood.” It then cuts to a closeup of baubles on the Christmas tree.
Well sorry to ruin your night again Steve,
But Maxwell’s got balls, so you might as well leave,
Because we all know that you can’t beat a man,
Hell, Holliday kicked your old ass as a fan.
Is there even a way you can live that one down,
Knowing the whole locker room thinks you’re a clown?
You’re scared of me, you can’t help but to show it,
Because I’m better than you…and you know it.
The scene ends with a slow zoom to the mantelpiece, where a card sits in pride of place.
