The more things changed.. the more things stayed the same. Say what you want about the state of the EBWF but it was clear to so many that though wrestling businesses thrive off the launching of new stars.. this particular company, was still in the hands of some familiar faces. Not yet out of their prime to pass the torch to some new faces and some new blood. Though it was a story that had been told before, Chris Jericho and the Miz were still two of the hottest and biggest names not just of the past, but of the present as well. Both superstars had seen a lot in this business, and the two of them in particular have had countless high profile- high quality matches. The one that we were getting ourselves ready for at Last Survior could perhaps take the cake though, as being one of the most high stakes matches, in the history of the rivalry between the two mega stars. The Miz and Jericho would tangle in the first ever Last Surivor event in the history of the EBWF, in a 3 Stages of Hell Match. It would start with a submission match, then a steel cage match, and if neccesary a last man standing match would be the third and final fall. The EBWF Title was at stake- and it was a title that both men had held multiple times in their illustrious careers.. it was a title that both men cared a great deal about. The answer of the question, who wants it more, would surely be answered in this epic collision.

The scene opened up to a montage of Chris Jericho Highlights. A "Highlight Reel" if I may of all that was and is the EBWF Champion. From his first title win, to his most latest. It was a collection of clips that any "Jericholic" would surely love to get drunk off of. The video showed clips of Jericho earning titles in other promotions.. it showed Chris in all of his glory. The video quality quickly began to shift and eventually it faded to straight static. The screen went dark. When the picture returned. Mike "The Miz" Mizanin was center frame. He wore a gray suit with a black vest. He was alone. He stared straight into the camera to deliver his remarks.

The Miz: Amazing isn't it? What a career you've had Chris. This business has taken you all over the world.. and few have done it better. Which is why this Sunday.. is going to be so extremely special.

The Miz paused.

The Miz: You see Chris Jericho is the EBWF Champion.. but he's also about to go into one of the most hellacious and brutal matches of his career.. with one of his most hated adversaries.. this beautiful bastard that is standing in front of you all right now.

The Miz flashed a smile.

The Miz: More importantly than even that. When I win on Sunday- Chris Jericho has WAIVED his right to a re-match. Which means that when I win.. ALL of the clips that you just enjoyed. All of the glory..all of the accolades.. all of the reigns at the top.. for the so called GOAT... are going to be over.. done with.. finished. Because you see quite simply put.. once I get my hands back on that Championship.. I will NOT be relinquishing it. Why add this stipulation? Why challenge Chris with this type of a deal in place. The answer is simple. Closure. You see Chris Jericho is sort of like herpes.. you think you've gotten rid of him.. and then he comes back.. again.. and again.. and again. You think he's gone for good.. and here comes Chris.. herping his way back into your life.. back into the title picture. Back into your way. I envision a world where all of the clips that just flashed across your screen.. can no longer exist. I imagine a world.. where Chris Jericho doesn't come back like Herpes.. but instead.. is forced to sit on the sideline.. FOR ONCE.. and watch someone else be the star of the show. THAT is why I challenged Chris.. that is why I forced him to put his future title shot against me.. up for grabs. I want Chris to have that extra added pressure.. those extra added butterflies.. because he knows.. ONCE he loses in this 3 stages of hell match.. that he can't just show back up on the metaphorical lips of the EBWF Championship picture. That Chris Jericho as "Le Champion" is "Le ImpossibLE"

The Miz smirked at his own comment.

The Miz: Chris can comment all he wants about me being insecure.. but what I know.. that other people don't seem to realize.. is that the only insecure person in this match.. is him. Chris watched the opening montage- and I can GUARANTEE.. the doubts.. the worry.. the stress.. began to creep it's way into his brain.. KNOWING.. that this is one of the BIGGEST matches he'll ever be in. He without question realizes that his inevitable loss to me.. is the finalization of his World Championship "Highlight Reel" history. His pride led to him accepting this provision from me.. but it's his insecurity that will lead to his defeat. Chris' brain, even right now is going a mile a minute as I speak.. with thoughts such as "shit I hope I don't lose," running through his brain.. and it's because of that.. that losing is something that Chris will not only manifest into existence.. but I will see to it.. that he not only LOSES.. but that he's also humiliated in the process. So bad in fact, that all the highlights.. all the achievements that you all just watched.. will be only a fragment of your memory. The bigger thing that Chris will be known for.. is the savage, wreteched, grotesque throttling that he suffered at the hands of The Miz. You see Chris, I have pride too. Mine has gotten me beat more than once.. but it has also led to me betting on myself- and that's a bet that has won for me, more than it hasn't. One more time.. I'm going to place that bet. I'm going to go into this match knowing, that if I somehow lose it.. than I myself will have to go to the back of the line before I get another chance at being something I so despartely covet. Knowing that though, I do NOT have the same insecurity that you have Chris.. all that thought does for me is fuel me.. all it does is drive me.. all it does is lock me in to a level of focus that will ENSURE that the next time any EBWF fan sees a highlight reel of accomplishments.. it's going to belong to me. So take a good look Chris.

The video screen played a few additional scenes of Chris Jericho success.

The Miz: Because sooner rather than later.. the life you once knew... will be over.

The scene faded out to a still of The Miz holding the EBWF Championship up after one of his title triumphs.

The scene faded back in to a vast office. There was a desk in center frame, book shelves behind said desk, and a lot of pictures on the walls of The Miz and his various wrestling accomplishments. There were Title Belts from the EBWF that inhabited the shelves of the office, and all and all it was a pretty impressive set up. After a couple of beats, Paul Heyman walked into the office and sat down in a seat that was a few feet away from the desk. Paul wore a blue business suit, and had a very serious look on his face. Mickie Mizanin was closely behind Paul, she was wearing a white top and dark blue jean shorts. She sat down in a seat on the opposite side of the office as Heyman. After several more beats, The Miz entered the scene. He wore a black suit, a black undershirt and a black tie. He looked serious as he walked into the picture and sat down behind the desk in what seemingly was his office. He looked at both Paul and Mickie back and forth several times, before he finally spoke.

The Miz: Do you know why I called you both here today?

Paul quickly went to answer, but Miz interrupted him.

The Miz: Before you answer Paul, I want you to think about that question. I want you to think about the possible reasons that I could have for wanting to meet with the two of you like this. I want you to really think about WHY, I would want the three of us to sit down in a room together, just a couple of days away from Last Survivor. Think about what would prompt such a meeting. What do you think?

Heyman looked less eager to just blurt the first thing out that came to his mind. After a couple of beats he spoke.

Paul Heyman: To avoid the WRONG thing from happening twice in two months.

Mickie smirked at the answer. It was clear Heyman had hit the nail on the head. Miz stared at Paul, before a wry smile broke onto his face.

The Miz: Paul. Exactly. This is a business where so many great things can happen. Underdogs can rise up. Upstarts can become stars. Stars can become MEGA stars. It's a business that can capture the hearts and the imagination of so many. It is entertainment in it's purest form, however it is also COMPETITION. There's ALWAYS going to be individuals in a competitive format that are just capable of shining just a little bit brighter than the guy next to them. There's always going to be people who are going to be categorized.. as the best.. and then there's everybody else. One of the things that's more common, perhaps than anything else in this profession.. is that whoever is at the top of the mountain, whoever DOES rise to the top of the EBWF.. they are the ones who are going to be targetted the most. Both from a physical stand point, but also as the subject of hate, for those that are vastly inferior to them. This is something that I've dealt with from the second I stepped foot here. It was clear from day one, that I was destined to be the face of this company. Even though it took time for SOME PEOPLE..

The Miz stared into the camera breaking the fourth wall.

The Miz: To see it.. though it took some time for SOME PEOPLE.. to accept it.. eventually I was going to ascend into the man.. that PEOPLE THINK OF.. when they think of the EBWF. Just like in any profession, there's going to be people who oversee the business. People who think they know what's best for it. Rarely, is someone able to bully their way into proving time after time after time.. that even though it may not have happened as quickly as it should have.. that there is NO WAY.. that they could ever.. and WOULD ever be overlooked again. You simply can't talk about not only the EBWF, but all of professional wrestling, without talking about me. My opponent at Last Survivor is in the same conversations. He has held the EBWF Title a record number of times. Some consider him to be the greatest of all time.. those people.. are called idiots.. but with that said.. my opponent has earned the right to be highly regarded. He's earned the right to be respected. However, at this stage in his career.. he isn't SUPPOSED to be the EBWF Champion. With his declining talent.. descending physical condition.. and overall free fall that he is going through as a competitor.. Chris Jericho is no longer.. WORTHY of being the top man in this business.. and look.. I will be the first man.. at his Hall of Fame induction ceremony.. I will stand and clap.. I will smile at the montage of his 20 thousand title reigns.. I will laugh at the jokes.. at the catch phrases.. at the memories.. that unquestionably will be shown that night. I will applaud Chris on a job well done.. and then I will pick up MY EBWF CHAMPIONSHIP.. and I will go on with my life. Chris Jericho being the EBWF Champion.. now.. today.. 2022.. it's wrong.. it doesn't make sense. So it's time to make things right. It's time to restore order.. it's time to bring this business back to reality.. back to something that makes sense. Chris beat me last month. He dug down.. into that big jelly bowl of a gut.. and he found a way to pull off a victory that ended my fifth title reign before it could really even get started. As I've already said.. there's no excuse for it.. it happened. Why we are all here tonight.. is to make sure.. that it could never.. and WILL NEVER.. happen again.

Paul Heyman raised his hand humbly.

Paul Heyman: Miz if I may.

The Miz nodded to Paul.

Paul Heyman: Miz everything you just said.. to some extent is factual. Everything that you just stated.. the credit that you gave Chris.. was certainly credit that he was due. However, as you alluded to. Things change. We can't ALWAYS live in the EBWF world that the "Ayotollah of Rock N Rolla" presides over. We can't always live in the EBWF World.. where Chris would tell a foe to "SHUT THE HELL UP" or that they will "never be the same agayne" we can't even always live in a world.. where Chris strolls to the ring.. to Judas- and fans sing along with the music.. all things.. come and go in the EBWF.. except.. for one. The one thing that should remain.. the one constant that should exist.. is the man that I'm sitting humbly in front of right now. You see Miz.. the reason I aligned with you.. is because I saw in you a man, that had the hunger, the ability, the wherewithal to not only be the EBWF Champion.. but to CARRY this company on HIS BACK- into it's NEXT ERA. Unlike Chris Jericho, your career is not coming to an end. You are NOT transitioning into a role behind the scenes. Unlike Chris Jericho, you are in PEAK physical condition.. which means in 3 stages of hell Miz.. you are going to not only beat Chris Jericho, but you are going to ENDANGER Chris.. Jericho. You are going to HURT Chris Jericho.. you are going to ... END.. Chris Jericho. Unlike Chris Jericho, you so clearly have A LOT left in the tank. You can enter a match this demanding.. with CONFIDENCE.. with AGGRESSION.. with the KNOWLEDGE that you are more than capable, more than willing, more than READY to not only outlast Chris Jericho.. but that you are more than ready.. to TORTURE Chris.. Jericho.. and I for one.. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

The Miz smirked as did Heyman. Paul wore a menacing grin. Miz continued.

The Miz: Paul- I'm really glad to hear you say that. People- including Chris- have questioned our relationship.. our business arrangment. People have questioned your motives with regards to me. Chris even stated that I'm not even your top client. Which is rich.. since I'm the TOP of this company.. let alone your client list. However, to them I can simply say.. that the reason why I wanted to work with you.. is because you have an EXTREMELY keen eye, for what's ACTUALLY going on in this company. You, more than most, can look at the state of the EBWF and understand where it should be headed.. and who it should be headed there with. You Paul, are a visionary when it comes to THIS BUSINESS. Which should make it no surprise to anyone that you feel the way you do about me, why you feel the way you do about 3 Stages of Hell.. and why you feel the way you do about Chris Jericho and his capabilities in the ring. It didn't have to be like this Chris. It didn't. However, instead of riding off into the sunset.. instead of being remembered for all the things you did.. you just had to come and do a couple of more. You use my obsession with being the champion as an insult, but Chris, we're not so different are we? When I reclaimed the title for the 5th time.. you couldn't just sit back.. and let me have the spotlight. No.. you had to stick your nose back into the title mix.. you had to use the obvious pull you have backstage to "EARN" a chance on Christmas Eve to start yet another reign.. and you did just that. Well congrat-u freaking- lations.

The Miz sarcastically clapped.

The Miz: Little did you know that all that victory did.. other than giving you that false sense of importance that you yearn for.. was ensure that what many, including yourself, probably look at as one of your greatest achievements.. that what it really was.. was something that would surely set you up for your ultimate demise. Chris we're not that different, we both have a belief in ourselves that have made us successful.. we both want to be on top of the company.. the difference is.. only one of us is still built for it. You may have won the battle on Christmas Eve.. but you are MOST CERTAINLY NOT going to win the war. Last Survivor is the end of Chris Jericho vs. The Miz. It's the end of this childish world that you've created when it comes to the two of us. It's the end of you being the old timer who puts on his "cool kid clothes" and tries to turn back time. You look at me Chris, you talk about me Chris, like you've got me all figured out. You act consistently as though there's nothing I could do or say that would surprise you. That you are aware of everything that I'm capable of. Well "champ" I got some bad news. All of those notions that you may have about who "The Miz" is.. and what he's capable of.. are going to be redefined at Last Survivor. At Last Survivor.. though you may be too "big time" in your own mind to ever admit it. The beating that I'm going to issue you.. is going to change EVERYTHING you ever thought about me.. and what I'm about. The EBWF Title is at stake.. and that is obviously one of my biggest driving forces to compete.. in fact I thought it was the only thing I cared about.. the only motivator. However, Chris, you've made it so much more when it comes to you and I. Your arrogance.. and condescending words towards me, week in and week out, are not only baffling when you consider who they're directed to, but they've also made this SO much more PERSONAL for me. The combintation of that.. and my NEED to be the EBWF Champion.. is NOT going to be a good result for you Chris. You may not respect me, you may turn your nose up at me, and the things I've accomplished.. and how I've accomplished them.. but one thing is for sure.. after 3 stages of hell.. if you don't want to acknowledge who I am.. and what I mean to the EBWF.. if you don't want to recognize the greatness that is The Miz.. if you don't want to respect the legacy I've built.. then I'm just going to have to MAKE YOU.

Mickie Mizanin smiled.

Mickie Mizanin: Baby.. I've never seen you like this.

The Miz: I wanted to have the two of you here tonight.. and speak to you.. and to Chris to let everyone know.. that like ANY great competitor does.. I've learned from my mistakes.. I've learned from my set backs. Again Chris, thinks I'm this dillusional, arrogant, prick.. and I can admit.. at times in my career I've been that.. and often times that attitude has led to some of my more disappointing defeats. Not this time though.. no.. you see.. this match- I'm going into with a clear mind.. a focus.. unlike any that I've had in the 11 years since I've returned to the EBWF after a short hiatus. I know what Chris Jericho is capable of, I know what he's accomplished.. but I also know that I'm as locked in as I've ever been.. because I know what this match symbolizes. There can be no more Miz vs. Chris Jericho.. it has run its course.. and in the end.. this is the match that's going to bring this battle to it's conclusion. I may not have started this latest installment of this rivalry.. but I'm definitely going to be the one who finishes it. I'm not overlooking Chris, but what I am doing.. is telling him.. you two.. and the entire world.. that though Chris did beat me last month.. and though I know what he's capable of.. one of the things he is NOT capable of.. is doing it again. Chris Jericho.. has my undivided attention. Take the belt out of it.. take the ego out of it.. break this match down to it's simplest form. I am completely.. and 100 percent.. zero'd in.. on "Le Champion" I am determined to make my statement.. and to make it LOUD.. and FREAKING CLEAR. There will be no foolish slip ups.. no over confident letting down of my guard.. it is going to be a Miz that not many have ever seen. Paul London was a victim of circumstance this past week on Warfare- but it was a message to all- that I am NOT PLAYING AROUND.. I will stop at NOTHING.. to rectify what happened last month. I will do what I have to do.. sacrifice what I have to sacrifice.. HOLD NOTHING.. NOTHING AT ALL BACK. Chris Jericho owns victories over me in the past, but honestly guys.. on those nights.. the one who REALLY beat The Miz.. was The Miz. The only one who has EVER really beaten me.. is me. Well no longer. You see Paul, one of the things that you have taught me.. is that there's really nothing fancy about being the Champion. Being the Champion.. isn't a suit.. though I rock the hell out of them.. it isn't an egotistical promo.. though I can cut those things with the best of them.. it isn't a hot valet.. though I have the hottest of the hot wearing my ring..

Mickie Mizanin smiled.

The Miz: Being the champion.. is just a commitment to doing whatever it takes to get the better of EVERY SINGLE PERSON that stands across from you on a night to night basis. At Christmas Eve of Destruction- I forgot that. At Last Survivor.. Chris Jericho thinks he's going against the same man, and this just simply could not be further from the truth. NOTHING about my outlook on this match, is the same as it was a month ago. I'm ready Paul, to become the Champion again, I NEED to be the Champion again.. not for the limos, the fame, the money, the girl, because I already have all of that in spades. I'm ready to become the Champion again.. because it represents that commitment to winning. Chris Jericho has won a lot of matches, but he's never really had that commitment. Chris has always been far to busy with his rock band.. or his behind the scenes work in the EBWF..or his gargling Wes Ikeda's ball sac.. to really be committed to anything like that.

The Miz smirked. It was clear in this last statement that though he respected Chris, the hatred for him was very present.

The Miz: I'm not sure you've ever been truly committed to success here Chris, you're talent has gotten you this far, but your foolish belief that you're the Peter Pan of the wrestling business.. is exactly the same thing that's going to put you out of it, for good. So though you have have a couple of lost boys and lost girls.. that still believe that the mythical Chris Jericho is going to be forever, that the mythical Chris Jericho will always be who he once was.. I invite them to watch on Sunday. I invite whoeever they are to tune in from wherever they are from. I want them to get comfortable.. pop some popcorn.. snuggle up on the couch.. so that they can witness.. what happens to someone who just doesn't know.. WHEN.. to SAY.. WHEN. I want you to remember Chris, that you seeked me out. You put yourself back into this world.. and you stumbled upon a win.. that makes you the TARGET that you not only don't want to be anymore... but that you're simply NOT READY TO BE ANYMORE. I'm going to be the champion again Chris.. it's going to happen whether you like it or not.. At a show called 'Last Survivor' I am going to be exactly that when it comes to you and me. This is it.. this is the end.. and for you Chris.. as far as what you'll do next.. where you go from here.. well... you'll be lucky if I let you survive. PERIOD.
