Master Plan (Trish RP)

Post by Ashlee »

Trish Stratus was sitting in a makeup chair backstage. The makeup artist was running a blending blush over her face, and Trish smiled at Renee Young’s reflection as she came into the styling room.

Renee Young: Hello gorgeous!

Trish Stratus: Hello, friend.

Renee Young: You ready for our interview?

Trish Stratus: Yes, though I am so out of things to say about this crop of women, I swear.

Renee Young: I can only imagine. I’m sure you’ll think of something clever to say. Did you… um… hear? About Wes and Adam?

Trish Stratus: Adam and I have passed in the hallway briefly this afternoon, but yes, I’ve heard there were some raised voices this afternoon. I’m sure they’ll settle down.

Renee Young: There just seems to be more and more bad blood.

Trish Stratus: Adam is facing his wrestling mortality, and Wes is… well, Wes.

She was careful about what she said. She’d never betray Natalie’s trust.

Trish Stratus: And if I’m telling you the truth, I think they only tolerate each other because Randy and Adam are brothers. Nicole loves Randy. Adam loves Karlee. Karlee loves Wes. Wes loves Natalie. And Natalie is the sister I never had. They don’t see it this way, but they find themselves unlikely extended family. They’ll work it out. And I’ll get to the bottom of it.

The stylist put a few more curls in Trish’s hair.

Renee Young: Are you enjoying the angle with Lexie and Shaul?

Trish Stratus: I could work with Shaul for the rest of my life. She’s so good. Just so so good at this. And so great to work with it. I wish there were 20 Shaul’s when I was coming up. She just gets it. So many of these girls don’t.

Renee Young: From what I’ve heard, she’s a lot like her Da-

Trish put her hand up.

Trish Stratus: No, she’s become her own woman. We shouldn’t put that on her. She got this far all on her own, and she taught herself a lot of the ropes. I knew her dad, and it’s not totally that.

She smiled.

Trish Stratus: I’m ready. You?

Renee Young: Yeah, we’re right next door.

Trish slid out of her chair and followed Renee.

Trish Stratus: Now I have to go straddle the fine line between mean and fake nice.

She rolled her eyes playfully and they walked into the next room where Drew the camera man was waiting. A boom mic was raised, and Renee grabbed a prop mic. They made small talk with Drew for a moment and then began to record.

Renee Young: I’m Renee Young coming to you live from Milwaukee, Wisconsin where in just a few hours 10 women will step into the ring for Last Survivor match. We will determine which of them will go on to face Alexa Bliss for the Women’s Championship. With me now is the icon, Trish Stratus. Thanks for joining me Trish.

Trish Stratus: Thanks for having me, Renee.

Renee Young: Trish, you drew number one in tonight’s matchup. How are you feeling about your odds?

Trish Stratus: Well, with only 10 of us in the match we certainly have it better than the boys. Thought I’d wager that the 10 of us are a bit tougher than the 30 of them.

Renee Young: Trish, tonight the wrestling god’s have had their way with you, because kicking off the match with you is Raquel Diaz.

Trish Stratus: Ah, yes, karma rearing her ugly head. I wronged Raquel and now she’s upset with me. Raquel I have to apologize to you, but you clearly haven’t thought this through. I did this for for your own good.

Renee Young: Raquel’s own good?

Trish Stratus: Of course, and the good of the EBWF fans. You know Alexa was never going to shut up until she became women’s champion. And I knew the only thing better than hearing her cry her little tears about not being champion was actually allowing her to take that belt and deal with the torment of knowing she didn’t do it by herself. Everything she has she has thanks to me. And I am sorry, Raquel that that happened at your expense. But I knew what I had to do. Because I had a very important goal for tonight.

Renee Young: What’s that.

Trish Stratus: I plan to ensure that Becky Lynch doesn’t get anywhere near the finish line.

Renee Young: What?

Trish Stratus: I know, Renee. A risk and a very long con to be sure. But in order to make sure that happens I needed Raquel. Because Raquel has proven over and over again that she’s got Becky’s number. So between Winter and Raquel? I’m counting on never having to see Becky Lynch in a women’s title match again. Raquel, you didn’t have to take it so personally, sweetheart. It’s just business. We all know who you are. You’re probably the best women’s wrestler of your generation. Almost as good as me.

Renee Young: So you wanted the belt off of Raquel so she would be in this match and…eliminate Becky Lynch?

Trish Stratus: The whole world wants that! No one wants to see Becky get another opportunity and then fail to capitalize on it. We couldn’t take her bitching for another year! Becky might have her own friend troubles right now, but she’s a shark and if she smells blood in the water she’s gonna try to strike. She’s gone a little nutso as of late too, which makes her unpredictable. My pan is solid. With me, Raquel and Becky in the ring to kick things off, it’ll be explosive and we’ll be able to take the garbage out before Winter has to do it herself.

Renee Young: Trish, the fourth entrant is someone you’ve been strangely avoiding talking about…

Trish Stratus: Excuse me? I avoid nothing. You’re undoubtedly talking about Britt Baker? She’s cute. She has what it takes. She wanted to know my plan, and I’ve outlined it for her. She’s also saying I’m not a role model, which I mean, is great news to me because I wasn’t trying to be. She was right about something though. She said there were ten women in this match and any of them could win it. We have that over the guys don’t we? Hell, she’s also right that we probably should have main evented this show because lately though we are a small division, we’re all some of the most recognizable names in wrestling. Meanwhile, people have to Google two-thirds of the men’s roster mid show.

Renee Young: Allysin Kay has had some interesting bouts with Winter…

Trish Stratus: Weird place to interject yourself, but she has momentum. And momentum can be dangerous for the rest of us. Allysin Kay is talented. I can’t deny her that. Your next question is probably about Leva Bates, and I’ve said everything there is to say about her before. I was probably out of line when I said anyone could win this match. Anyone but Leva, who is obviously just here to shine Dr. Baker’s boots.

Trish smirked.

Trish Stratus: And Winter… she’s too in her head about her old friend Rebecca and her new foe Allysin to be a concern to me. See, when someone takes up that much real estate in your head, Winter, there’s no room for thoughts about victory or strategy. There’s no way to win a match with nine other women. You and Becks are probably going to rip each other apart. And EBWF will be better for it.

Renee Young: Your long time friend Natalya is out at number 8.

Trish Stratus: Girl picked herself a pretty good number. Listen, I don’t expect the field to have thinned very much once Nattie is out there, and that’s going to play to her advantage. Nattie is EBWF’s iron woman. And people can criticize Wes for saying he didn’t care about women’s wrestling in the past, but I think there was a different breed of woman around here when he said, and meant that. It’s hard to defend a product where Eva Marie and Summer Rae and Kelly Kelly are your stars. Natalie has done everything to put this woman’s division on the match, and when she goes the distance in this match everyone will be reminded why. Natalie and I know how to play this game. It’s us versus everybody until it can’t be anymore.

And Renee, that blast from the past Mickie James is back too.

Renee Young: What’s your take on that?

Trish Stratus: It’ll be nice to see her. Will also be nice to toss her over the top rope and remind her that she’s gonna have to do more than show up for the Last Survivor spot to earn her shot around here. If Mickie wants to be the best, she’s gonna have to start acting like it. A whole lot of female wrestlers before her have proven you can still be a good wife and mother while being a first class athlete. Time Mickie started acting like it.

Renee Young: Finally, Trish. Kris Statlander drew the lucky straw and is entry number 10.

Trish Stratus: An anti-climactic finish if I ever saw one.

She laughed.

Trish Stratus: Let’s see if Kris can come down from space and show up on time, shall we? You might actually have to cut a promo to get the fans to care about you being here. You could get some trips from your weird friends. Renee, I may be coming out first, but considering all the drama surrounding these women, I have to say, I’m the odds on favorite to win. And that will mean I get to go on to face Alexa, showing her what my plans for her have been all along. I hope they keep you up at night, Lexie. I hope you wonder when I’m going to come take everything from you. And when I do, for you, and for all the EBWF fans… well… it’ll be Stratusfaction Guaranteed.

Trish winked at the camera and turned on her heel to exit the frame. Renee smiled after her as the scene faded to black.
