He immediately looks down at the floor, for a brief moment before lifting his head back up once he hears the door swing open. A weak smile was expressed on his face as he sees that it was none other than his girlfriend, the current reigning Sky High Champion Maria Kanellis, who had an ear to ear grin on his face as she walks over towards him, leaning down and giving him a warm hug before breaking the embrace and standing upright in front of him as she crosses her arms.

SPIDER EVAN! Just thought I’d swing by your locker room and see how you were doing? I’m surprised that you’re in a seated position, knowing you the way I do. I would have expected you to be on your feet, moving around, maybe even bouncing off of walls getting prepared for your match tonight! “Spider Evan, Spider Evan, friendly neighbourhood Spider Evan! Bounces off of walls and kicks butt! Pew! Pew! Pew!
She proceeds to re-enact a lot of superhero movements as both of them share a laugh, he proceeds to rub the back of his neck while shaking his head from side to side.

Nah, maybe later. Just haven’t been feeling good as of late. Especially following my disappointment showing at the biggest event of the year for the EBWF Slammiversary and---

EVAN!!! Don’t you start with that nonsense again! You were great out there okay? You’re too hard on yourself to be honest. You gave it your all out there and came up just short, that’s nothing to dwell about. The fans were in awe of your performance, so you’ve got a lot to be proud of.

I guess you’re right, but it’s the same old story for myself. Me coming up short as always when it matters the most. It’s starting to get quite frustrating now that it’s happening time and time again. Maybe I should be more relentless? Am I getting too caught up with pleasing everyone and the fans that I’m getting distracted? I just don’t know Maria; I’m searching for answers at this point.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Slow down Evan. From what I know, you’ve been a fan favourite your entire career so you’re not taking your “eyes away from the prize” by satisfying them. Don’t be saying silly things like that okay?
She proceeds to sit down beside him on the bench in front of the stall as she places her hand on his shoulder looking deeply into her eyes. He does the same thing as his eyes trail down from her eyes down to her waist where she usually wore her precious Sky High championship, but she didn’t have it around her waist right now, which causes him to raise his eyebrow.

I see that you didn’t bring your precious title along with you for this visit. I don’t blame you, with the bad luck I have been going through lately, I shouldn’t be near ANY title.
She proceeds to laugh as Evan manages a cheeky chuckle, as she smacks him on the shoulder playfully.

EVAN! That’s not funny. “Bad luck?” So are you saying that being with me is bad luck as well? I see how it is! *giggles* But no Evan, I left my title safe and sound with Alicia for the time being, as I’m sure you’re aware that things have been hectic around here lately. And having the Sky High Championship around my waist means that I have a big target on my back, it also makes me susceptible to backstage attacks which I want absolutely no part of!

That’s very smart of you to do. And you’re right about the controversy that we’ve got going on around here lately. But we’ve got to stay focused in our in ring work and avoid all those extracurricular activities. Tonight I’ve got a match against Shane Douglas, who has to be coming into the Saddledome tonight with a ton of confidence following his huge Breakout title win at Fanniversary, a title that I once held not too long ago. I can use this match as a measuring stick as to where I stand in my career right now. If a man that made his return in the EBWF over a year hiatus is able to work his way back up to title contention and win the title again is capable of getting on the right foot, why can’t I? I need to get my head together and make sure I am focused at the task at hand, and that is beating him.
Evan nods his head at his own statement before looking into Maria’s eyes and smiling.

And when I meant “bad luck” of course I didn’t mean you! You’re a breath of fresh air, and you have the ability to make all the bad go away. I’m so lucky to have you and you mean the world to me.
He proceeds to lean in and kisses her on the lips, a lip lock that lasted what seemed like an eternity, before he reluctantly parts his lips from her’s as he brushes the side of her cheek with his thumb.

I know you were concerned about the mass shooting that took place last week, how were you feeling now?

I’m feeling fine now Evan thank you…I was just a little frazzled at the thought of losing you. But I’m definitely glad that that didn’t happen. I don’t know what I would do without you…

HEY! Don’t say things like that Maria. Nothing will happen to me I promise you. You certainly performed great out there in your title match at Fanniversary, and I know you’ll pull out another victory tonight in your tag match. As for me? As I said, I’ve got a huge match-up against Shane Douglas tonight. A win against a current reigning champion is certainly what I need to get things back on track for myself.

That’s the spirit my Spider Evan! You’re going to do great out there I just know it! Anyways, I hate to do this but I got to get on my way and meet up with Alicia so we can head out to the ring for a tag match-up, I’ll see you after the show.
She proceeds to give him a quick peck on the cheek before standing up and walking out of his locker room, leaving him on his own for the time being. Shortly after she had left, he proceeds to get up from his seated position as he starts doing a few stretches ahead of his match against Shane Douglas as the scene fades to black.
