PhD

As the scene opened, Renee Young was standing near an entryway inside the Chase Center.

Renee Young: I have been informed that Trish Stratus has arrived a the arena. I’m hoping to get a word…

Before Renee could finish, the door opened, and Trish entered, rolling her carryon behind her. Her long hair was pulled back, and she wore sunglasses. She pulled at her jacket with her free hand, looking like she just wanted to brush past Renee.

Renee Young: Trish, I’m sorry to bother you. I know you’ve only just arrived. I wanted to ask you about the Women’s Last Survivor Match, but before I do… can you give us an update on Edge?

Trish reached up and pushed her sunglasses on top of her head. She shook her head.

Trish Stratus: Edge is home. The rest is his story to tell. Assuming that EBWF Management ever lets him tell it. You wanted to know about the Women’s Last Survivor Match?

Renee nodded.

Trish Stratus: It’s certainly an interesting opportunity isn’t it? I get to be in the ring with a few women I’ve never faced before. Women I never dreamed I’d get to face. But when it comes to entering the ring at number one, it’s amazing how they keep relying on Trish Stratus, isn’t it? This might be the best group of pure wrestlers we’ve had in the women’s division in 21 years. Arisa and Himeka are incredible talents. Liv Morgan, while I don’t like her, and have even less respect for her, has spent years trying to carve out her niche here. Gail Kim is one of the best everywhere she goes. Jamie Halter seems to be making waves in the industry, and I have no doubt that EBWF won’t be any different. Natalya has forgotten more about wrestling than the other 11 women in the ring know! Utami is awe inspiring. Becky is… still here. That’s cute. Must have fit in with her filming schedule or something.

Trish bit her bottom lip.

Trish Stratus: I got through 8 women with the intention of being very nice, but God, Becky. If the rest of us know what’s good for us we’ll just throw ourselves over the top rope so we don’t have to listen to you complain about the conspiracy the powers that be have against you. Here’s the conspiracy, Becky, I’m going to spell it out for you. Most of the women in the locker room are better than you and a whole lot less arrogant. It’s not difficult math. I mean, Mina, is better. I don’t know a whole lot about her, but I know that. And to be honest, I’m looking forward to learning a lot more. I think she’s blended in a bit, and I really think this might be her opportunity to break out.

Trish managed a small smile at Renee.

Trish Stratus: And that leads me to the last woman we know about, Dr. Britt Baker. Former women’s champion. Everyone’s favorite Trish Stratus wannabe. You’ve basically modeled your entire wrestling career off of mine, and while it’s earned you some gold and a few clicks online, but not quite the respect has it? You definitely haven’t looked as good doing it as I do. You may have a D.M.D, but I have a PhD in Stratusfaction, sweetheart. And you ain’t it.

Renee Young: And Trish any thoughts on who the mystery woman entering at number 12 might be?

Trish’s grin remained.

Trish Stratus: Yes, as a matter of fact, I know exactly who she is. She’s the very last woman I’ll have to throw up and over the top rope to earn my opportunity at another women’s championship. Speaking of, Renee, I have a lot to do. Thanks for the chat.

Trish pushed her sunglasses back down over her eyes, and walked away. Renee looked on, smiling, as the scene faded to black.
