A New Year.

The Slammy Awards are a night of triumph for some. For other's they can really serve as a night of reflection, and even a night of motivation. As the EBWF celebrates the years best, there are undoubtedly others who are forced to watch the achievements of their colleagues be recognized while they sit and clap politely and receive.. well nothing. Not only would that type of experience motivate anyone to strive to achieve more success in the ring, the Slammy's themselves wrap up another year that was, and as we all know the individuals that entertain in the ring, also have lives outside of it. As Layla El sat at the Slammy's this year along side her new boyfriend and 4 time 2012 Slammy Nominee Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, she began to think about life both in the ring, and outside of it. Her life in the ring, at least for the later part of 2011 was pretty uneventful, but she knew that this year would be different. She knew that being the both on and off screen girlfriend of The Miz, that she was going to be in the spotlight, and in storylines, such as the one leading up to the Clash between Miz and her former boyfriend AJ Styles. She wanted more than that though, she wanted to be back in the ring competing. Anyone that knew Layla, knew that she was a competitor. Family members would joke that Layla would cry herself to sleep as a young girl if she lost a game of Monopoly. So being out of in ring action had killed her. Outside of the ring, Layla was something she had not been in a long time. She was happy. She had been in and out of drama for the better part of last year, and ever since she started going with Mike, she had felt that this was truly what "right" felt like. The bottom line was Layla, seemed like she was in a good place personally, and because of this, she felt that it could be a big year for her professionally. In the Warfare before Wrestlemania Layla made her return as part of a Triple Threat Match, the winner receiving a shot to face Jamilia Craft for the Sky High Championship at Wrestlemania. Layla was not victorious in the match, but it felt so good to be back out there. She would again have the chance to earn the number 1 contender spot for that same title, this week on Warfare, her opponent would be the young lady who was defeated by Natalya in the triple threat match a couple of weeks back, Aksana. Being booked on back to back shows, told Layla the message that she was hoping to receive, she was back, and she was ready to make her mark once again, not only as Valet to one of the most successful superstars in Sports Entertainment today, but as a tremendous in ring talent in her own right. So that next year's Slammy's would hold less sitting, reflecting, and clapping, and more accepting trophies!

The scene opened up inside the car of EBWF Diva Layla El. She drove her purple Volkswagen Beetle on the highway, and Adele's "Set Fire To The Rain" blared over the speakers in her car. Layla was singing along to all the lyrics.. loudly. She wore a dark purple tanktop and light blue denim shorts. She had a pair of designer sunglasses on and her hair was down, and in this moment she looked extremely happy. As the song came to a close, Layla, not exactly being a role model for safe driving, grabbed her I Phone with a pink cover and started to look for another song. Just as she seemed happy with one of the choices " I Came To Play" by Downstait was heard and the picture of Mike Mizanin popped up onto the phone, with the words Mikey <3. She picked up the phone, and put Mike on speaker. Layla answered in an extremely bubbly tone of voice.

Layla El: HI BABE!

You could almost hear Mike's smile through the words that came out on the other end.

Mike Mizanin: (speaker phone) Hey! How's my girl this morning? You took off before I even got a chance to say goodbye, but I got your note, it was very crucial, because otherwise I would have assumed you were just using me for my bod!

Layla smiled. Mike just had this way about him, that made the relationship feel both intimate and serious, but also very light and fun. She giggled before answering.

Layla El: Maybe I wrote the note, just so you would feel like I wasn't using you, but really I secretly am.. mwahaha!

Mike laughed on the other end.

Mike Mizanin: (speaker phone) How do you know that I don't want to be used?

Layla smiled again, she mulled the thought over moving her head from side to side.

Layla El: Touche, Mr. Mizanin, touche! So what's up? Or did you just call because you miss me already.

There was a slight chuckle from Mike that sounded similar to when a kid got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

Mike Mizanin: You're too smart! I miss you already, I also wanted to just wish you good luck on your interview. You excited to be back getting your Layla on, in a promo?

Layla smiled.

Layla El: Woo Woo Woo, you know it!

There was silence on the other end of the line. Layla blushed but couldn't hold back her smile. She spoke very seriously.

Layla El: Yeah I uh.. I won't do that again.

Mike finally busted out laughing on the other end of the line, you could tell he was holding it in, to make Lay feel embarrassed for quoting Long Island Iced Z.

Mike Mizanin: (speaker phone) Yeah I wouldn't use that today, babe.

Layla El: Yeah I guess not, if I'm going to steal catchphrases, I guess I got the best boyfriend in the world for that already.

Mike Mizanin: (speaker phone) You're dating The Rock?

Layla laughed, and said a few things, before whipping out her best "Miz" impression.

Layla El: No you dork, YOU! I might have to bust out, "So I'm just going to go in there and BE LAY, which means all these other girls are going to have no choice but to BE JEALOUS!"

Laughter was heard from Mike. You could almost see him shaking his head impressed.

Mike Mizanin: (speaker phone) Not bad, not bad! Well don't consider it stealing, what's mine is yours. Which reminds me, did you eat the rest of my Apple Jacks?

Layla's mouth moved in a way that indicated "uh oh," She spoke in her cutest voice, to try to soften the anger of Mike, who she knew, LOVES Apple Jacks, despite the overwhelming fact that they don't even taste like Apples.

Layla El: Yes... sorrrrry babe. Don't hate me!

Mike's reaction was not one that she was expecting. He didn't seem too upset at all.

Mike Mizanin: (speaker phone) It's ok, it's just all that's left now is Wheaties, and I just sort of feel like a liar eating them considering they are the breakfast of champions.

Layla laughed. Mike and her shared a very similar sarcastic and witty sense of humor, and any conversation the two had, Layla found herself laughing and giggling quite a bit. She quickly hit him back with a comment that made him laugh as well.

Layla El: Well save them then, because soon enough I'll be able to finish those too, when I become the NEW Sky High Champion.

Mike Mizanin: (speaker phone) First the Apple Jacks.. then the Wheaties.. you animal.

Layla smiled.

Layla El: I know, I know. You better buy some more cereal if you're planning to keep me around, babycakes!

Mike Mizanin: (speaker phone) I guess so!

Layla pulled her car into a parking lot that sat in front of a large brick building. She pulled her car into a spot, and wrapped up her conversation with Mike.

Layla El: Anyways, I'm just getting here Sweetie, but I'll see you tonight?

Mike Mizanin: (speaker phone) Yes you will! Have fun!

Layla El: Thanks babe, talk to you later.

Mike Mizanin: (speaker phone) Bye Lay.

Layla El: Bye.

Layla ended the call on her phone, and checked her hair in the mirror. She then opened the driver's side door and got out. She closed the door behind her, and locked the car. She then made her way towards the door of this building, on what appeared to be a perfect Sunny Day in LA. Layla had just rented an Apartment in LA, but spent a majority of her time at Mike's house and the previous night had been no different. She hadn't slept much, and not just because her and Mike.. well you know, but also because she was anxiously excited to be back on camera in character, cutting a promo. She had not been seen by the EBWF fans in anyway but The Miz' girlfriend, since her return and she couldn't wait to start making a real impact not only in the ring, but on the microphone, where she possessed tremendous skill and comfort. It was place that like her boyfriend, she thrived. Layla walked into the building and an older woman was sitting at a front desk. She greeted Layla with a warm smile in which Layla returned as she put her sunglasses on top of her head.

Receptionist: Hi Layla!

Layla El: Hii, how are you?

Receptionist: I'm very well thank you, they are expecting you dear. You just go straight down the hall, and it's the last door on the left. If you need anything else just let me know!

Layla smiled and nodded her head.

Layla El: Thank you so much!

Layla made her way down the hall, and reached the door she had been instructed to find. On the door it read. EBWF Interview Spot for EBWF.NET: Layla El and Michael Cole. Layla took a deep breath, and entered the room. She closed the door behind her as the scene faded.

The scene reopened to the EBWF logo. A caption came up on the screen that read Michael Cole 1 on 1 with Layla El. Layla sat in a seat about 7 feet apart from Michael Cole. She was now in FULL Layla gear. A black with pink tight leather outfit, and her hair and makeup were fully done. She looked incredible. Michael Cole sat in an EBWF polo and Khaki's. He started the spot.

Michael Cole: Hello EBWF fans, here for EBWF.NET, I'm Michael Cole. With me today is a lady who..

Layla cut in.

Layla El: Save it Cole, they know who I am, but just in case they've been living under a rock, I will introduce myself to them, I wouldn't give a Benedict Arnold like you the honor.

Cole looked confused, but let Layla continued before he inquired.

Layla El: So hello EBWF Fans. I am Layla El! The best Diva to ever step foot in this company. I am here today being interviewed by Michael Cole, not at all by choice. They couldn't have sent JR?

Michael Cole looked nervous. He looked like the geek being tortured by the popular girl in high school. Something that I'm sure he had experience with. Nevertheless, Cole replied.

Michael Cole: No, he was.. he was busy.

Layla smirked.

Layla El: That's too bad, luckily I'm so lovely that nobody will even notice you're here.

Michael Cole: Well you are probably right about that.

Layla El: Don't try to suck up to me Michael, it's gross.

Michael nodded quickly.

Michael Cole: Right, sorry. So what did you mean when you said I was a 'Benedict Arnold?'

Layla laughed, and looked at Michael like The Miz does when he's about to say "REALLY?!"

Layla El: Like you don't know.

Michael still seemed very confused.

Michael Cole: I really don't.

Layla sat back in her chair as if to say "wow, are you serious?" She then sat up straight and enlightened him.

Layla El: I'm shocked you even had time to meet with me today, Michael. I thought you'd be out doing AJ Styles dry cleaning, or making out with his Polaroid or something. The guy talked down to you 100 percent of the time you interviewed the Trilogy, and now Miz and Ted kick him out and all of a sudden you are his best bud. The guy couldn't even get back to his locker room after winning the EBWF Title, and you were right there to congratulate him. How do you think that looks Michael? You are the guy who always wanted Miz to accept you as his friend, and now you are going to go around like you're the president of the AJ Styles fan club? You're pathetic Michael, you're a front runner. Miz WILL be the EBWF Champion again, and when he does I'm sure you'll be the first one at his doorstep with an edible arrangement or some other fruity gift, no pun intended... OK a little bit intended.. but Michael when you do, just know that there is no way Miz or Ted will ever accept you into their group, not that they would have anyway, because you're a loser. AJ doesn't like you either, he just has no friends and you were someone to talk to, he probably would have made out with you if you asked him nicely too.

Michael Cole looked offended, but backtracked when it came to claims about him choosing AJ over Miz.

Michael Cole: No I swear to you Layla, and you can tell Miz this, I was just doing my job, they made me interview him! I'm Trilogy through and through!

Layla flipped her hair back.

Layla El: Sure you are Michael. OK enough of this, this interview is about me, not about you. So let's start talking about me, before you start asking if I've heard anything about AJ liking you more than a friend.

Michael nodded somberly. He flipped through a couple of papers on his lap. He spoke in a tone of voice, that you could tell he was actively tying to get the interview back on track.

Michael Cole: So Layla, you shocked the world when you were revealed 2 weeks prior to Wrestlemania as the girl The Miz had been dating, but it quickly became clear that you back for more reasons then just to be on The former EBWF Champion's arm. The next week you competed in a triple threat match for a chance to challenge The Sky High Champion Jamilia Craft at Wrestlemania, you unfortunately lost.. but it was cl..

Layla put her hand up as if to say "As If"

Layla El: Excuse me, "lost?" You think I lost! Psh, Michael I didn't lose, I don't lose, alright? True I was in that match with Natalya and Aksana, and I may not have won, but I most certainly did not lose. How is it my fault, that little Aksana couldn't handle a sharpshooter from a chick who was doing the move on one good foot? Aksana tapped out costing me my chance to go to Wrestlemania. Rest assured Michael, 2 people that were the happiest because of that, were Natalya obviously because she won, and Jamilia Craft because she would have to face a girl who would be limping around all match. Jamilia Craft wanted no part of me, how this girl is even the champion is beyond me. How can she even focus on wrestling? She's just starting to notice boys! What is she like 11 or 12 years old?

Michael Cole: She's actually 20, she turns 21 in August.

Layla looked at Michael with an accusing glare.

Layla El: You would know that, perv.

Michael Cole looked horrified.

Michael Cole: No I just, I was just.

Layla El: Save it creep, go ahead and finish your question. I just better not hear you say anything about me losing that match, because that loss belongs to Aksana. The same way the loss will belong to Aksana this Monday Night, when I become what I should have became before Wrestlemania, and that is the number 1 contender for The Sky High Championship.

Michael Cole again tried to straighten himself up and get the interview going in the right direction.

Michael Cole: Well since you mentioned it, what are your thoughts about your upcoming match with Aksana? As you mentioned the winner will earn the right to meet Jamilia Craft for the EBWF Sky High Championship.

Layla thought for a minute.

Layla El: What are my thoughts? I'll do you one better Michael, I'll tell you what I'm feeling. First I'm feeling really confused. I'm confused as to why Aksana is being rewarded with ANOTHER chance at becoming the number 1 contender for the Sky High Championship. I mean who is she sleeping with, to get this match with me on Monday? Aksana is the reason that I'm not sitting here with the belt right now. I mean did you see how quickly she tapped out? This chick has no fight in her, she's a Lithuanian airhead, who has no business being in a wrestling ring. Which brings me to the second thing I'm feeling and that's excitement. Not the same kind of excitement you get when you think of Jamilia being of age to drink alcohol, but excited in the sense that justice will prevail. You think I took the fact that I had my potential Wrestlemania moment taken away from me, by the lack of will, and the overall cowardice of Aksana, lightly?

Michael Cole: Well I'm assum..

Layla interrupted him.

Layla El: It was Rhetorical Michael, of course I don't take it lightly. I'm a competitor, and because of Aksana, I didn't have my hand raised in victory that night 2 weeks ago. That doesn't sit right with me, it doesn't sit right with me that the most talented girl in the match, did not walk out the victor. So when you ask me my thoughts, about my match this Monday Night, the overall number 1 thought on my mind, is that I CAN NOT WAIT to get my revenge on Aksana for delaying the inevitable truth. Do you know what that inevitable truth is Michael?

Michael Cole this time did not answer, he thought she was going to explain it to him, and that this question was also rhetorical.. he was wrong.

Layla El: What the heck is the matter with you Cole? You're looking at me like I just asked you to go talk to a woman at a bar. I asked you a question.

Michael Cole was startled, he just couldn't seem to win with Layla.

Michael Cole: What is the inevitable truth?

Layla smiled.

Layla El: What a great question. The inevitable truth, Michael is that I WILL become the EBWF Sky High Champion once again. There is nothing that any of the girls in this company can do about it, especially Aksana. My match with Aksana on Monday will be a chance for me to make a statement. It will be a chance for me to show the entire EBWF that Layla El is NOT a girl that they want to mess with. I'm officially back, and that's the worst news that Aksana and any of the other EBWF Divas, could ever hear.

Michael nodded.

Michael Cole: What about The Miz? How do you think him being by your side will help you in your quest for success, this time around?

Layla El: The Miz is an amazing competitor, and amazing man, so I mean no disrespect to my boy when I say that I won't be needing his or anybody else's help to succeed. For once Michael, I don't blame you for asking this question. It's the same stupid question that has come up over these past few weeks. Monday night, it will become clear, and the ignorance of others will be silenced. Monday night, when I destroy Aksana and become the number one contender for Jamilia's Sky High Championship, people will know that I have more talent in my little finger, than the rest of the girl's including and especially Aksana, have in their big breasted bimbo bodies! When people see that, Michael, they will know that with or without The Trilogy, I am the best female competitor in the business, and if they still have doubts about that, those doubts will NOT last very long.

Michael nodded, he still looked very uncomfortable, and you could tell he wanted to wrap this up.

Michael Cole: Anything else you'd like to say?

Layla pouted, and spoke in a very cute and sweet voice.

Layla El: Aww are we almost done? I was really starting to enjoy talking to you, Michael!

Michael smiled and exhaled deeply.

Michael Cole: Really?

Her sweet look and tone, changed back to being completely serious.

Layla El: No.

Michael put his head down, he walked right into that one.

Layla El: My final thoughts are simple Cole. This Monday night I, Miss Layla El, will easily dispose of Aksana. Aksana is a nothing compared to me, she doesn't worry me, nor does she present any sort of challenge to me whatsoever. A victory Monday Night would be a first step back to becoming what I belong, and that is a champion. And make no mistake about it Michael, it is a step that I will most certainly be taking.

BECAUSEEEEE I'MMMMMMM LAYLAAAAAA ELLLLLLLLLL ANNNNND I'MMMMMMMMM

She winked into the camera, almost as if she was looking directly at Mike while she stole his catchphrase. She said her last word in a higher tone packed with confidence.

FLAWLESS!

Layla took her microphone off and acted like she was going to hug Michael. Michael went to return the hug, but instead Layla pushed him back so he fell out of his chair. Layla flipped her hair and laughed, as she walked out of the room, and the scene faded to black.
