The segment begins with a highlight vignette from the weeks prior that has led up to the ladder match that will consist of Christopher Daniels, MJF, Gargano, and the Breakout Champion, Brock Anderson. The vignette places emphasis on the successes that Brock has had in the ring against countless opponents. Along with his successes, it also shows the sabotage that has taken place from the verbal attacks to the physical attacks. The vignette ends with the showing of the brawl that broke out after Brock's match with Gargano last Monday night. It fades out, and then fades back in to a media announcement for the ladder match that would open the show at the Fallout pay-per-view. It transitions to a dramatic video of a ladder, standing in the middle of the ring, starting from the bottom and working it's way up to the top. The final image is the Breakout championship, hoisted above the center part of the ladder, glimmering gold as a spotlight shines on it and eventually fades out, along with the final scene. "ALL HELL BREAKS OUT AT FALLOUT" comes across the screen before a transition takes place to an empty Arthur Ashe Stadium. Brock Anderson stands in the ring, the ladder from the video package still standing in the middle, the championship is strapped at the top on a metal loop. We are only hours away from the start of the show, before the fans start flooding the stadium. Brock walks around the ladder, inspecting it, almost seemingly to game plan his approach to his first title defense. He looks up at the title before speaking up.
Brock Anderson: A short journey it's been.
He pauses, as he turns his attention to the camera.
Brock Anderson: Just a couple months ago, I made my debut... I was doubted, I was looked at as someone who was undeserving to step foot in the ring with the guys that are getting ready backstage at this very moment. Accusations of nepotism, because of who my father is and my family's connection to this business. I've faced it all, from some of the toughest competitors here in Eee-bee-dubya-eff to some of the toughest criticism from my peers. But look at us now. A short couple months later, I make my first title defense here in New York City, against three other guys, two of which have been at my neck almost every step of the way. It's funny how quick the tide can turn... When you're not seen as a threat, instead as a some kid who just happened upon a golden ticket. But look...
Brock points to the title as it dangles above the ladder.
Brock Anderson: That's mine. That's not Max's, that not Christopher Daniels, and it sure ain't Johnny Wrestling's. I'm the one who put the work in day in and day out. I'm the one who showed up on time and did what was necessary WHEN it was necessary. I've taken every glimmer of opportunity that has been afforded to me and I've ran with it. An abundance of wealth and fortune is earned by the man who hunts for it. I hunted for it. I came here with a promise to be the best in the company, the best in this industry. So far, where have I been wrong? I told you I'd win that title that hangs above me right now. I told you all that I'd go the distance at Lone Survivor, and I did it after coming off of the most important match of my career to that point. I put every single person backstage on notice and where have I lied? It's not my fault that no one listened, it's not on me that you pinned me out to be someone to undersize. That's what I've been up against, every week, every moment.
He smirks as he places a hand on a step of the ladder that is just under eye level.
Brock Anderson: And now, here we are... I get another opportunity to prove to you why I'm to be watched, why my psyche and presence isn't to be taken lightly. I grew up in this ring, and though I may have less time in it than every single one of the guys that I'll be standing toe to toe against later tonight, but this business, this sport, it's been my life. I could go down the laundry list of my credentials, why I think I edge out the others... This isn't a job interview, this IS the job.
He climbs the ladder, finally making it to the top. He positions himself into a sitting position at the peak.
Brock Anderson: Tonight, I'll climb this ladder. This very spot right here, I'll reach up and I'll grab MY Breakout championship. I'll end the chapter of Max's poor assessment of who Brock Anderson is... I'll squash the hopes of Daniels' dreams to be back in the spotlight of relevancy... And I'll steal away Gargano's claim to Mr. Wrestling.
He looks up at the title one last time, before looking back to the camera as it fades out.
______
Later on backstage...
The next scene opens up backstage, we're moments away from the show getting started. Brock Anderson, is wrapping tape around his wrist and a door is heard opening. He looks up, and the camera pans out to reveal Arn Anderson.
Arn Anderson: Brock, I just wanted to stop by to wish you luck tonight and tell you that we're all proud of you. You've done a damn great job of not letting the hearsay and bulls**t politics get to you. I know I've told you a million times, but when you're the guy.. when you're THE champion, regardless if you're the World champion or the Breakout champion, you're going to have people gunning for you wanting to make a name for themselves or put a notch in their belt.
Arn reaches out and gives his son a pat on the back, nodding in approval.
Brock Anderson: I know. Every single one of these guys tonight have tried to play a mental game with me. They've tried to make it a test of what they know, who they know, and what they've done... Not putting it out there in the ring where it matters.
He points out to a direction, signifying the arena.
Brock Anderson: I've had Max following my track every step of the way. I tell you what, he'd make a damn fine hunting dog. And unfortunately, that's what I'm gonna have to do tonight. I'm going to have to put Max back into his place, step him back a few notches and humble him by beating him like a mean dog. I'm so sick of hearing him belittle his opponents and claim he's better than them. I know he's got one on me... He almost broke my damn arm, but who's the champion? Who has stepped up to his dee-dubya-o croonies and been put through the ringer? I'm telling you, he must have some friends in high places, but if it were up to me, it would've been me and him one-on-one to put an end to his mess. But this is just as good, a match where there's no blurred lines of right or wrong. He doesn't have an edge here, he can't cheat in a match with no rules... Max takes one wrong step at me with something, I'll answer it right back with something else ten-fold. F*** around and find out.
Brock comes across serious, as he continues to getting ready.
Arn Anderson: I agree hundred percent, but don't let this be a revenge match. Don't go into this thinking you're going to just be getting back at MJF because he got over on you a few weeks ago. You said it, YOU'RE the champion. Don't forget that. You know how many times I defended the World Television title and didn't actually beat my opponents? I took them the distance and made them have to damn near kill me if they wanted to win the belt. You've got to go into this with that championship being your goal. That's your prize, not beating the snot out of MJF or any of the others tonight.
He looks back to Arn, slightly annoyed with that response, almost like he took it as patronizing. He does give him and nod back to him, giving acknowledgment of him being ultimately right with his thought.
Brock Anderson: I know that, I also know that there's two other guys gunning for the same thing Max is.. the same thing I am. I've got Johnny Gargano, who thought I saw him as an underdog... I know best not to underestimate anyone. I've been mocked and underestimated since I got here, so I know how quickly someone can become a threat. You don't beat your opponent by treating them as a lesser, they're either an equal or better. I take every match as I'm going to up them, I'm going to out show them, regardless of their level or who they are. That includes Gargano... but I will say this, I didn't see Mr. Wrestling last Monday. But somehow he gets beat and then pops up for a chance at my title? What the hell is that all about? I haven't seen him week after week busting ass in that ring to prove that he should even be close to being the guy. All because he shoved his nose into a brawl between me and dumb and dumber last week? Look I know what he can potentially do, so I'm not going to turn a blind eye to Gargano, but I also know that I put his shoulders to the mat last week and it was my hand that would've been raised after the match. I'm not forgetting that either.
He shakes his head, almost in disgust at how Gargano has found his way into the Breakout championship match.
Brock Anderson: Then I've got the FALLEN angel... Christopher Daniels. He's about your age, ain't he?
He grins and lets out a laugh. Arn playfully takes offense, punching Brock's shoulder. Brock acts like he is cowering from his father, before getting back serious.
Brock Anderson: No, but in all seriousness, Daniels probably is the most threatening man in the ring... He's got the style for this stuff. He's made a career off of these type of matches and he's got the mentality and the credentials to back it up. But in front of all that is a poor excuse of a motive... "A man on a mission from God"... Gimme a friggin' break. I mean, has he ever heard of the seven deadly sins? Coveting over my belt, over trying to prove something by beating me? Lusting over a restored career in the ring. Pride of being the "chosen one"... How about wrath? Pure anger of wanting to be proved right that he is the man with the destiny to beat out all the "sinners". Walking contradiction. I'll pray to the lord, I'll ask him to keep me healthy out there while I put my body on the line. But I'm not going to tell you, anyone back here, or the people sitting in their seats out there that I'm doing this for some higher power... No, tonight is about me. Tonight and every other night I enter that ring, it's about me. It's about pushing myself over the other person, raising my hand in the air and stepping one step closer to what I promised whenever I got here. To be the face, the revolution of professional wrestling that this industry needs. No gimmicks, no posh, just going out there and proving that I've got the metal to take on any person in this building and any person outside of it that wants to take me on. See dad, I think your little spiel earlier about heading being in the right place shouldn't be directed at me... It's for those three guys.
He tosses on his shirt, "The Horsemen" Brock Anderson, finishing getting ready.
Brock Anderson: Those three guys are out to get ME... I'm out there to get my belt.
He exclaims the last line in seriousness, as he exits the screen. Giving his dad a pat on the shoulder as he leaves the room. Arn stands there, following Brock's movement until a door is heard shutting. He smirks approvingly, as the scene concludes.
