No Distractions

The camera cut to the backstage area, where Hook and Taz were stood with Renee Young.
Renee Young: Good evening, EBWF Universe! I’m standing by with the Human Suplex Machine, Taz, and the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil, Hook, who will be competing in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament tonight. Hook, you’ve been drawn against Al Snow, who is one of the more experienced superstars on the EBWF roster...
Taz began laughing, inadvertently interrupting Renee.
Taz: Sorry, Renee. I know you’re just being a professional, but come on. You call Al Snow “experienced”, but we all know what he is. He’s a jobber. A joke. I mean, which wrestler is he going to pretend to be tonight? Whoever it is, it’s not someone that’s going to be a threat to Hook.
Hook: I’m still going to take him seriously though, Dad. I’ve got a job to do, and I’ll be damned if I’m going to risk being embarrassed by Al Snow because I got complacent.
Taz: That’s a great attitude, Hook. Sorry Renee, we’re totally disrupting your interview here. Ask us the questions you want to ask us.
Renee Young: Thank you. Well I was going to ask about your thoughts on Al Snow, but I guess we’ve covered that already. So I’ll move onto my next question. Hook, what is going on with you and Christian Cage?
Hook shrugged.
Hook: Maybe you should ask him that question, Renee. He seems to have a problem with me, and I’m not sure why. I’ll tell you this, though... when I get my hands on him, Christian Cage is going to be in a lot of pain. But he’s not my focus. I’ll deal with Christian when the time is right, but right now, it’s all about the King of the Ring tournament. When I signed for EBWF last year, I set my sights on winning King of the Ring, but I was screwed over by MJF and Dynasty. This year, I’m not going to let anything – or anyone – distract me. And that includes Christian. At least it’s just him and not... what were they called again?
Taz: The Coalition?
Hook nodded.
Hook: Yeah. That group is done, right? The only ally Christian has got left is his old friend, the steel chair.
Renee Young: So you’re not worried about him trying to cost you your match against Al Snow?
Hook: You’ve seen me in the ring, right Renee? I work fast. Christian won’t have time to even try to get involved, and if he does...
Taz interrupted.
Taz: If he does, he’ll have me to deal with.
Hook looked across at his father, frowning. He seemed annoyed.
Hook: We’ve talked about this, dad. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me, and I’m glad you’re in my corner, but you’ve got to let me fight my own battles. I don’t want you getting involved. Sorry Renee, I think we’re done here.
Hook walked off, and Taz followed him, bringing the interview to a close.
