Mauro Ranallo: Get ready folks… it’s time for Warfare! Tonight, we are live from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and what a great show we have in store for you. We’ll be kicking off the Queen of the Ring tournament, and we’ve also got four King of the Ring second round matches to look forward to.
Nigel McGuinness: One of those is up first as Rocky Romero goes one on one with the Breakout Champion, Brock Anderson!
Rocky Romero made his way to the ring first, followed by Brock Anderson. When both men were in the ring, the referee called for the bell. Romero locked up with Anderson and was able to take the Breakout Champion down to the mat. Romero went for a kneebar, but Anderson fought out of it and kicked Romero away, then got to his feet. Romero went for a clothesline, but Anderson ducked underneath it, then grabbed Romero and hit a headlock takedown. He spread out Romero’s arms and legs, stomping on them one by one, then pulled Romero to his feet. Anderson hit Romero with a series of punches, before setting Romero up for a suplex…but Romero countered with a suplex of his own!
Mauro Ranallo: Great counter there by Rocky Romero! Can he seize control of the match now?
As both men got to their feet, Romero hit Anderson with a series of backhand chops, then whipped him against the ropes. As Anderson ranback towards him, Romero went for a hurricanrana, but Anderson countered with a sitout powerbomb! He hooked both legs and the referee counted - 1… 2… Romero kicked out! As Anderson got to his feet, he stomped on Romero’s ankle several times, before putting him in an ankle lock. Romero was able to get to the ropes, and the referee ordered Anderson to break the hold… but Anderson refused to do so! The referee threatened to disqualify him, and began counting, but Anderson broke the hold just before the count of 5. Anderson pulled Romero to his feet, and whipped him against the ropes, but as Romero hit the ropes he held onto the top rope, stopping himself. Anderson ran at Romero, going for a clothesline, but Romero hit him with an uppercut, then followed up with a springboard tornado DDT!
Nigel McGuinness: Incredible athleticism by Rocky Romero!
Romero hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Anderson kicked out! Romero pulled Anderson to his feet and hit him with a series of punches and kicks, then whipped him against the ropes. As Anderson ran back towards him, Romero hit a knee strike, then hooked the leg once more. The referee counted - 1… 2… Anderson kicked out! Romero pulled Anderson to his feet and set him up for the Shiranui… but Anderson broke free and shoved Romero full force into the corner. Romero looked dazed, and as he stumbled out of the corner, Anderson lifted him up, hitting a spinebuster! He hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… 3!
Mauro Ranallo: It’s over! A sterling effort by Rocky Romero, but Brock Anderson gets the victory.
Anderson celebrated as a video package began to play previewing the Queen of the Ring tournament.
Mauro Ranallo: Up next is the opening match in the Queen of the Ring tournament, and what a match it promises to be. We’ve got last year’s Queen, Allysin Kay, the two-time Queen of the Ring, Becky Lynch, and the Rose of Versailles, Sakisama!
Sakisama made her way to the ring first, followed by Allysin Kay, and finally, Becky Lynch. As the referee called for the bell, Lynch immediately charged towards Allysin Kay, hitting her with a clothesline then stomping on her several times. Lynch pulled Kay to her feet and set her up for a DDT, but Kay fought out of it and hit Lynch with a series of punches. Lynch fought back with some right hands of her own, then lifted Kay up, hitting the Bex-Plex!
Nigel McGuinness: A strong start by Becky Lynch here... she looks fired up!
Kay rolled out of the ring, giving herself a chance to recover, and Becky Lynch locked eyes with Sakisama. The two women locked up, and Lynch took Sakisama down with a snapmare, then as Sakisama got back to her feet, Becky whipped her against the ropes, before hitting a leg lariat. Sakisama got back to her feet and Becky hit an inverted hammerlock DDT, then hooked the leg. The referee counted – 1... 2... Sakisama kicked out! As Lynch got to her feet, Allysin Kay re-entered the ring and she attacked Becky from behind, hitting her in the back of the head before throwing her shoulder first into the ring post! Lynch fell to the mat, clutching her shoulder in pain. Allysin Kay then turned her attention to Sakisama, who was back on her feet. She charged towards Sakisama, taking her down with a spear before hitting a series of punches against the mat. As Kay continued to pummel Sakisama, Becky Lynch grabbed Kay, pulling her off Sakisama and setting her up for a fisherman's neckbreaker. Kay blocked it, shoving Lynch away, then took Lynch down with a Yakuza kick!
Mauro Ranallo: What a vicious kick, Nigel… that almost took Becky’s head off!
Allysin Kay hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... Lynch kicked out! As Kay got to her feet, Sakisama grabbed her, throwing her out of the ring before following her to the outside. Outside the ring, Sakisama hit Kay with a series of punches, then set her up for a suplex, but Kay blocked it, breaking free and hitting Sakisama with a series of punches. As Kay and Sakisama exchanged right hands on the outside, Becky Lynch climbed to the top rope and hit a diving crossbody, taking out both of her opponents! Lynch threw Allysin Kay back into the ring, then slid under the bottom rope and grabbed Kay by the arm, locking in the Dis-arm-her!
Nigel McGuinness: Becky has the Dis-arm-her locked in, and as this is a triple threat match, there are no rope breaks! Allysin Kay could be in real trouble here!
Kay cried out in pain, but just when it looked as throw she was about to tap, Sakisama grabbed Becky Lynch and pulled her out of the ring! The crowd booed as Sakisama threw Becky into the ring steps, but Sakisama paid no notice to the fans as she dragged Becky away from the ring and hit a DDT on the ramp! Sakisama then entered the ring, where Allysin Kay was back on her feet. Kay went for a lariat, but Sakisama ducked underneath it, then grabbed Kay and whipped her against the ropes. As Kay ran back towards her, Sakisama hit the Academy Award Kick! She hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… 3!
Mauro Ranallo: It’s over! Sakisama advances to the semi finals!
Sakisama celebrated as Warfare went to a commercial break.
As Warfare returned from the commercial break, “New Day New Way” hit and the crowd cheered as Xavier Woods made his way to the ring.
Mauro Ranallo: Welcome back! Up next we’ve got the reigning King of the Ring, Xavier Woods, going one on one with the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil, Hook!
When Woods was in the ring, “The Chairman’s Intent” by Action Bronson hit, and the crowd cheered as Hook made his way to the ring. When Hook was in the ring, he made his way to the corner, keeping his back turned on his opponent until the referee called for the bell. When the bell rang, Hook turned around, locking eyes with Woods. The two men locked up and Woods went for a headlock, but Hook broke free and took Xavier down to the mat, before applying an armbar. Woods broke free and as both men got to their feet, Woods hit Hook with a series of punches, followed by a clothesline. As Hook hit the mat, Woods stomped on him several times, but Hook grabbed Woods by the leg and dragged him down to the mat, before putting him in the STF! Woods cried out in pain, but he was able to get to the ropes and the referee ordered Hook to break the hold.
Nigel McGuinness: That was a clever counter by Hook, Mauro… despite Woods being a much more experienced competitor, Hook has got the upper hand in these early stages!
After Hook had broken the hold, Woods rolled out of the ring, but Hook followed Xavier to the outside, where he threw him into the ringside barrier. Hook then went to throw Woods back into the ring, but before he could do so, Woods grabbed Hook and slammed his head off the ring post! Woods then threw Hook back into the ring and hit a swinging neckbreaker before hooking the leg. The referee counted - 1… 2… Hook kicked out! Woods pulled Hook to his feet and dragged him towards the corner, where he slammed Hook’s head off the top turnbuckle several times. Woods then moved Hook back towards the center of the ring and set him up for a DDT, but Hook countered with a bridging northern lights suplex! Both of Xavier’s shoulders were down, and the referee counted - 1… 2… Woods kicked out! Hook then pulled Woods to his feet and whipped him into the corner, where he hit Woods with a series of punches. Hook then dragged Woods out of the corner and set him up for an Olympic Slam, but Woods blocked it and countered with a bulldog. Woods then followed up with a leg drop, before hooking the leg. The referee counted - 1… 2… Hook kicked out!
Mauro Ranallo: Another near fall for Xavier Woods! The reigning King is taking the fight to Hook, but Hook is holding his own against the former World Champion!
Woods pulled Hook to his feet and set him up for Lost in the Woods, but Hook blocked it, then hit an exploder suplex. As both men got to their feet, Hook got behind Woods and teased Redrum… but then he grabbed Woods and hit the Unprettier! Hook hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… 3!
Nigel McGuinness: Hook gets the victory, but he used Christian Cage’s finisher to do it! You have to imagine Christian will be less than impressed if he’s watching…
Hook celebrated, then made his way to the back.
After a video package for Total Supremacy played, the cameras panned the crowds. They cheered wildly as the stage lit up to announce the arrival of Trent.
Mauro Ranallo: Trent has recently returned to EBWF and is already proving his dominance here in the King of the Ring tournament.
Nigel McGuinness: Trent has obviously been honing his skills all over the world. It'll be interesting to see what he can do here tonight against Randy Orton.
Randy's music hit and Christy Hemme introduced him as one half of the tag team champions. The Canadian crowd gave Randy his due respect as he climbed into the ring. Nigel McGuinness: And here comes Trish Stratus, competing for the first time since the Last Survivor match!
Once Trish had entered the ring, the referee called for the bell. Trish ran at Arisa and hit her with a series of punches, then went to whip her against the ropes… but Arisa reversed the Irish whip, sending Trish into the ropes before taking her down with a roundhouse kick. Arisa followed up with a knee drop, then hooked the leg. The referee counted - 1… 2… Trish kicked out! Arisa pulled Trish to her feet and set her up for a vertical suplex, but Trish blocked it and whipped Arisa into the corner, before hitting a handspring back elbow smash. Trish pulled Arisa back to her feet, and set her up for the Stratusfaction, but as she ran towards the ropes Arisa broke free and shoved Trish into the ropes, then as Trish ran back towards her, Arisa hit a powerslam. Both women were down for several seconds, then Arisa slowly got to her feet. When Trish was up, Arisa hit a running high knee strike, then followed up with the Pulsar Kick! Arisa celebrated as Warfare went to the final commercial break of the evening.
The crowd booed mercilessly as Bully Ray's music hit and he made his way to the ring.
Mauro Ranallo: Bully Ray destroyed his long time friend D-Von to get to this match tonight and I can't believe he has the audacity to look so pleased with himself.
Nigel McGuinness: Bully knew he'd been carrying D-Von for all these years, and now he's working to get into the quarter finals of the tournament.
"Judas" hit once Bully was in the ring, and the crowd began to sing along as the EBWF's most decorated superstar headed down to the ring. Jericho played off the crowd before getting into the ring, and Bully Ray paced as the crowd sang the chorus to Judas. A Jericho chant continued as the music faded which seemed to only further bother Bully. Bully starred Jericho down and the bell rang. Jericho hit a chop but Ray seemed unfazed by the series that followed, dropping Jericho with a shoulder tackle! Jericho seems slightly shaken by this and Ray continued the attack, and took Jericho to the corner before laying in some chops.
Mauro Ranallo: They can hear those across the street at BC Place Arena!
Jericho blocked an overhead chop before turning things around with some chops of his own, only to be taken down by the bigger man. Ray brought him back to the corner twice over, and hit a big corner splash to drop Jericho down hard. Ray continued the offense before hitting a big scoop slam, climbing up the ropes, but Jericho grabbed him and knocked him down to the apron before hitting a springboard dropkick.
Nigel McGuinness: The experience of Jericho coming into play here.
Ray was forced to recover on the floor and Jericho comes out to do even more damage. Jericho sent Ray to the ring post and then to the barricade, before the action finally made its way back into the ring. Jericho hit Bully from the middle rope to keep him grounded to the canvas, laying in some hard boots before bringing Bully to the ropes where he leaned into him with a boot to the back. Jericho laid in some punches.
Nigel McGuinness: These despicable Canadians are eating this up!
Jericho continued the attack as Bully got back to his feet, where Jericho hit a couple chops until Bully stopped him.
