Mauro Ranallo: Get ready folks! It’s time for Warfare! We are live from the McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and kicking things off we’ve got Sakisama versus the Irish Lass Kicker, Becky Lynch!
Sakisama made her way to the ring first, followed by Becky Lynch. When both women were in the ring, the referee called for the bell and the two women locked up. Lynch took Sakisama down to the mat and went for an armbar, but Sakisama broke free and whipped Lynch against the ropes, before hitting a running shoulder tackle. As Lynch hit the mat, Sakisama grabbed her by the leg, going for a kneebar, but Lynch kicked Sakisama away, knocking her into the ropes. Lynch then springboarded to her feet and hit Sakisama with a clothesline, sending her to the outside!
Nigel McGuinness: Becky’s got fire in her belly tonight, Mauro!
Lynch followed up with a baseball slide, then exited the ring and hit Sakisama with a series of punches. Sakisama fought back with some right hands of her own, before taking Lynch down with a big boot. Sakisama then threw Lynch back into the ring and whipped her into the corner, before setting her up for a superplex. Lynch countered with a sunset flip powerbomb, then hooked both legs. The referee counted - 1… 2… Sakisama kicked out! As both women got to their feet, Lynch went to whip Sakisama against the ropes, but Sakisama reversed it, sending Lynch into the ropes before hitting a knee strike. She hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Lynch kicked out! As both women got to their feet, they exchanged right hands back and forth, and after gaining the upper hand, Lynch went for a clothesline… but Sakisama ducked underneath it, then put Lynch in a cradle pin! The referee counted - 1… 2… Lynch kicked out!
Mauro Ranallo: Sakisama almost caught Becky off guard there!
As the two women got to their feet, Sakisama hit a bridging German Suplex, getting another two count. Sakisama then pulled Lynch to her feet and whipped her against the ropes, going for the Academy Award Kick, but Lynch ducked underneath it, then hit Sakisama with the Manhandle Slam! She hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Sakisama kicked out! As Sakisama got her shoulder up, Lynch immediately went for the Dis-arm-her, but Sakisama got to the ropes before Becky could lock it in. Lynch pulled Sakisama to her feet and hit an exploder suplex, then climbed to the top rope. Lynch went for a diving leg drop… but Sakisama moved out of the way, then put Lynch in a triangle choke!
Nigel McGuinness: Sakisama has Becky Lynch locked in the Versailles Choke! Becky could be in trouble here!
Just when it looked as though Becky was fading, she got her foot on the ropes and the referee ordered Sakisama to break the hold. Sakisama kept it locked in, and the referee began counting to 5… but Sakisama released Lynch on the count of 4. Sakisama then dragged Lynch away from the ropes… but as she did so, Lynch rolled her up in a small package! The referee counted - 1… 2… Sakisama kicked out! As both women got to their feet, Lynch whipped Sakisama against the ropes, then went for the Straight Fireball… but Sakisama ducked underneath it, then lifted Lynch over her shoulder and hit a back-to-belly piledriver. As Sakisama got to her feet, she stomped on Becky several times, then dragged Lynch to her feet and whipped her against the ropes. As Lynch ran back towards her, Sakisama hit the Academy Award Kick! She hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… 3!
Mauro Ranallo: It’s over! What a match to kick off Warfare, Nigel… an incredible performance from both superstars!
As Sakisama celebrated her victory, Alexa Bliss sprinted down to the ring with a tray in hand. Sakisama was unaware of Alexa's appearance and when she turned around, Alexa blasted her in the head with the metal tray!
Mauro Ranallo: Mamma Mia, what a sickening sound!
Nigel McGuinness: Alexa is looking for revenge after last week.
The crowd went wild as Alexa placed the tray on the mat and pulled Sakisama up to her feet in position for a DDT but before she could hit it, Utami ran to the ring and pulled Sakisama out which caused the crowd to boo.
Nigel McGuinness: Utami making the save.
Utami helped a dazed Sakisama escape to the back. Alexa grabbed the metal tray and chucked it at them as they made their escape.
Mauro Ranallo: Neo Blishiki Gun may have escaped tonight, but I don't know if they'll be able to do it forever.
"Immortal" played and Alexa and Becky hugged as Warfare went to commercial.
As Warfare returned from the commercial break, “Hey Bro” hit and the crowd cheered as Matt Riddle made his way to the ring for the next match.
Mauro Ranallo: Welcome back! Up next, we’ve got the “King of Bros” Matt Riddle in action as he goes one on one with the Breakout and Gateway Champion, Brock Anderson!
When Riddle was in the ring, the Four Horsemen theme hit and the cheers quickly turned to boos as Brock Anderson headed to the ring. Once Anderson was in the ring, the referee called for the bell and the two men locked up. Riddle got behind Anderson, putting him in a waistlock, but Anderson charged backwards, knocking Riddle into the corner, then hit Riddle with a back elbow smash. Anderson followed up with a kick to the midsection, then dragged Riddle out of the corner and put him in a headlock. Riddle fought out of it, then hit Anderson with a headlock takedown! As Anderson sat up, Riddle went for a kick to the face, but Anderson dodged it and rolled Riddle up. The referee counted - 1… Riddle kicked out! As Anderson got to his feet, he went to hit Riddle with a forearm smash, but Riddle blocked it, then hit two successive gutwrench suplexes.
Nigel McGuinness: Riddle with an impressive display of strength there!
Riddle hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Anderson kicked out! Both men got to their feet, and Riddle hit Anderson with a chop to the chest, but Anderson retaliated with a chop of his own. The two men then exchanged punches, and after overpowering Anderson, Riddle hit a fisherman suplex. He hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… again Anderson kicked out. As both men got to their feet, Riddle lifted Anderson over his shoulders, setting him up for a fireman’s carry slam, but Anderson broke free then threw Riddle shoulder first into the ring post! As Riddle clutched his shoulder, Anderson dragged him away from the corner and down to the mat, putting him in an armbar. Riddle managed to fight out of it, and as both men got to their feet, Riddle hit Anderson with a series of punches before taking him down with the Pele Kick.
Mauro Ranallo: Riddle has been on a bit of a losing streak recently, but you can tell he’s determined to get back to winning ways… he’s giving his all tonight!
As Anderson got to his feet, Riddle hit an exploder suplex, then went for a senton, but Anderson got his knees up and blocked it. Anderson then hit a DDT and hooked the leg - 1… 2… Riddle kicked out! Anderson stomped on Riddle’s arms and legs one by one, then dragged him to his feet and whipped him against the ropes. As Riddle ran back towards him, Anderson went for a spinebuster… but as he lifted Riddle up, Riddle grabbed Anderson around the neck, putting him in a sleeper hold! Anderson tried to fight out of it, but as he did so Riddle grabbed him around the waist, hitting a deadlift German suplex! Both of Anderson’s shoulders were down and the referee counted - 1… 2… Anderson kicked out! As both men got to their feet, Riddle hit Anderson with a knee strike, then climbed to the top rope and hit the Floating Bro! Riddle hooked both legs and the referee counted - 1… 2… 3!
Nigel McGuinness: It’s over! A huge victory for Matt Riddle!
As Riddle celebrated, a video package began to play recapping the build up to the next match.
“It’s Time To Rock and Roll (with Bossy intro)” hit and the crowd cheered as Trish Stratus made her way to the ring.
Mauro Ranallo: Here comes Trish Stratus, a former Women’s Champion and the longest reigning Women’s Champion in EBWF history! Tonight, she’ll be going one on one with the 2023 Queen of the Ring and number one contender for Tam Nakano’s Women’s Championship, Arisa Hoshiki!
When Trish was in the ring, “Star Ship” hit and the crowd gave a mixed reaction for Arisa Hoshiki.
Nigel McGuinness: There is an interesting situation developing around the Women’s Championship, Mauro. Tam Nakano is close to breaking Trish’s record, and if she beats Arisa Hoshiki at Gateway to Glory, she will be just nine days away from setting a new record for longest reigning Women’s Champion. Rather than relying on Arisa to try and keep her record intact, Trish wants to be the one that ends Tam Nakano’s reign as champion, but Arisa isn’t happy that Trish is trying to take her number one contender spot, and that is what led to this match tonight.
After Arisa had entered the ring, the referee called for the bell and the two women locked up. Trish put Arisa in a headlock, but Arisa fought out of it and whipped Trish against the ropes, then hit Trish with a clothesline. As Trish got back to her feet, Arisa set her up for a suplex, but Trish blocked it, countering with a suplex of her own. As both women got to their feet, Trish grabbed Arisa, this time taking her down with a bulldog. She hooked the leg and the referee counted… 1… 2… Arisa kicked out! Trish pulled Arisa to her feet and whipped her into the corner, then went for a handspring back elbow smash… but Arisa moved out of the way, before hitting Trish with a snapmare.
Mauro Ranallo: Arisa Hoshiki had that move well scouted!
Nigel McGuinness: You can tell these two women are more familiar with one another’s in-ring styles after their match in the Queen of the Ring tournament, Mauro. Arisa Hoshiki was successful that night… will she be again tonight?
As Trish got to his feet, Arisa hit her with a series of punches and kicks, before whipping Trish against the ropes. As Trish ran back towards her, Arisa hit a knee strike, then went to the top rope. When Trish got to her feet, Arisa went for the 1399… but Trish caught Arisa and hit her with a spinebuster! Trish hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Arisa kicked out! As Trish got to her feet, she grabbed Arisa by the legs, going for a sharpshooter, but Arisa kicked her away and got back to her feet. The two women exchanged right hands back and forth, and after gaining the upper hand, Trish whipped Arisa into the corner. Trish then sat Arisa on the top rope, setting her up for a Frankensteiner… but Arisa countered with a sitout powerbomb!
Mauro Ranallo: Mamma Mia! That shook the ring!
Arisa hooked both legs and the referee counted - 1… 2… Trish kicked out just before the 3! Arisa stomped on Trish several times, then pulled her to her feet and went for the Pulsar Kick… but Trish ducked underneath it, then hit Arisa with the Chick Kick! Trish made the cover, and the referee counted - 1… 2… Arisa got her foot on the bottom rope!
Nigel McGuinness: Arisa acting on instinct there… she didn’t have the energy to kick out, but she knew where the ropes were!
Looking frustrated, Trish pulled Arisa to the center of the ring, then went for another Chick Kick, but this time Arisa grabbed Trish’s leg, blocking it! She then lifted Trish over her shoulder, hitting the Diamond Buster! She hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Trish kicked out! Arisa then put Trish in the Black Hold, but Trish was able to get to the ropes!
Mauro Ranallo: This is impressive stuff, Nigel… Trish and Arisa aren’t just determined to win this one, they’re determined not to lose!
Trish used the ropes to pull herself up, and when she was on her feet, Arisa went for a running knee strike… but Trish ducked and pulled down on the ropes, sending Arisa to the outside. Trish then climbed to the top rope, hitting Arisa with a diving crossbody! Both women were down on the outside, and the referee began counting them out. As the referee reached the count of 5, Trish got to her feet and threw Arisa back into the ring. As she re-entered the ring, Trish set Arisa up for the Stratusfaction, but Arisa blocked it, then rolled Trish up into a small package! The referee counted - 1… 2… Trish reversed it! 1… 2… 3!
Nigel McGuinness: It’s over! Trish gets a victory over Queen Arisa, and I don’t think Arisa can quite believe it!
After the contest between Trish and Arisa ended, the Shining Star started walking up the ramp to the back. Suddenly there was a pop from the Chattanooga crowd as Tam Nakano emerged from the back in street clothes. She started down the ramp at Arisa, then to ringside where Trish was at the moment. With no words, Tam removed the EBWF Women's Championship from around her waist and held it up high. Arisa nodded coldly, Trish determined and Tam confident. The fans roared as the champion stood there with her beautiful prize.
Nigel McGuinness: Tam Nakano reminding these two once again who the champion is. They've both staked a claim to the title in the past couple weeks.
Mauro Ranallo: That's right and to secure their own legacies, they'll have to do what no one's been able to for the past year. Beat Tam Nakano amid the most impressive run of her career. Far easier said than d-
He didn't finish his sentence as the crowd's cheers turned to shock and boos. The shot shifted to the stage the moment Tam took a chair to the back! THWACK! Jamie Hayter stood over the champion, an Oedo Tai t-shirt over her gear. Arisa rushed to the rescue when suddenly a second woman landed a shotgun dropkick from behind. The Shining Star hit the floor hard and the smaller masked woman nearly took her head off with a penalty kick! Trish looked on as Oedo Tai continued their assault.
Tam got to her feet, clutching her back right as Jamie wrapped the title around her arm. With the belt for extra damage, Jamie toppled Tam with a Lariat! It was at this time that Arisa got to her feet, only to have the smaller woman hit her with the chair as well! Once both women were down, Jamie took a mic up and flashed her best shit eating grin.
Jamie Hayter: It's sad you two can't come together because there's that shiny prize between you. Looks like you're all as divided as ever! None of this is right, but we're here to fix that. As your Lord and Savior I'm here to remind you that Oedo Tai is going to run this place very, very soon. While you're all fighting, we're getting stronger, more united and growing!
She planted her foot on Tam's chest and glared into the camera.
Jamie Hayter: We promised the mask is coming off soon. You'll know who stands with Oedo Tai. And that starts tonight.
Her eyes flitted to the smaller woman sitting on Arisa's back. Jamie grinned evilly as she nodded.
Jamie Hayter: It's time. Show 'em.
The woman stood up, then casually strutted over to Jamie's side. As the audience waited with baited breath, she reached up and grabbed the edges of the mask. A moment later she ripped the mask off, revealing the youthful face of AZM! The same young woman who's been training with Arisa!
Mauro Ranallo: Mamma Mia! What a shock! The high speed prodigy, AZM, has arrived in EBWF and joined Oedo Tai!
Nigel McGuinness: They call her the High Speed Bomb Girl for a reason, she's one of the most explosive offensive innovators in professional wrestling. At just 20 years old she's already got more in ring experience than a lot of women years older than her. The founding branch of Oedo Tai aggressively recruited her for a full year in Japan, and now she's finally joined them!
AZM laughed as Arisa stared up in disbelief at the revelation.
AZM: Oh sorry, forgot to mention I wasn't just here to train with you. My bad.
She kicked at Arisa, then playfully cocked her head to the side.
AZM: This is our division now.
She bent down and picked up the EBWF Women's Championship from near Tam's prone body.
AZM: We're almost at full strength now, but our third woman isn't ready to show herself. Maybe she's coming in from outside, maybe she's already here. But this-
AZM shook the belt for emphasis.
AZM: Belongs to her. Nothing's going to stop her from getting it.
She tossed the belt down onto Tam and boos rang out from the Chattanooga crowd.
Mauro Ranallo: There's a third woman lurking somewhere?!
Nigel McGuinness: If she's coming for the title, she might just be the ringleader of this Oedo Tai. The whole women's division is being put on notice by this third woman and she's not even here yet!
AZM and Jamie laugh, then stare down at the ring in unison.
AZM: Oh and Trish? We'd deal with her too, but then we'd get charged with elder abuse. Besides, it's not grandma hunting season yet.
Jamie Hayter: This is our house now.
AZM: We are -
They made the old hand gesture again as the fans booed louder.
Jamie and AZM: OEDO TAI!
'Oedo Ranbu' hits and the pair high fived before slowly walking out of the arena. The shot rested on Arisa as she crawled over to Tam, who was just starting to stir. The show then faded to a teaser for Gateway to Glory.
When Warfare came back from a commercial the crowd was buzzing with anticipation. Then after a couple of beats a familiar sound was heard from the PA.
BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
AWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESOMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I CAME TO PLAY!
"I Came To Play" by Downstait was heard throughout the arena. Riddle came out first donned in Bro Awesome gear. He was riding his scooter around in circles as the capacity crowd exploded in excitement. Michael Cole was next through the curtain rocking the same gear as Riddle with his hat turned sideways. He popped a huge bubble and gave Riddle, who had just scooted over, a fist bump. After a couple of more beats the pop intensified as The Miz came out from the back in the same Bro Awesome T-Shirt as his stable mates and black slacks. He had the EBWF Title on his right shoulder and walked in front of Riddle and Cole who willingly followed him down the ramp. Riddle ghost rode his scooter right into the barricade to, with Cole, open the ropes for the champion. Miz smiled and nodded acknowledging the effort, and entered the ring. He was granted a microphone as were Cole and Riddle. A "Miz is Awesome" chant broke out from the crowd which brought a smile to the champions face.
The Miz: He really is… isn't he?
The crowd popped even louder, Miz smiled.
The Miz: So I have been asked to come out here tonight and talk about what's to come in the life of The Miz - to talk about what's to come in the life of 'Bro Awesome'. It has been an extremely fun ride so far with my guys here. We've been on top of the business for quite some time - as it should be - and we're looking forward to continuing that ride.
Michael Cole: Amusement Parks bro.
Riddle smiled and nodded.
The Miz: So it's really really hard to not be in a good mood - like all the time. That is until recently. Up until this point I haven't really had much of a challenge - I really haven't had many guys come in and intrigue me, challenge me, or push me in anyway. I've been doing this for a long time - I am a 7 time and CURRENT EBWF World Champion - so there's just not many individuals capable of testing me. Which is why - my eyebrows.. even if just in the slightest have risen at the man that recently won the King of the Ring tournament at Total Supremacy. I'm talking of course about Damien Priest.
The crowd had a mixed reaction but it was mostly positive.
The Miz: I know - you can cheer for him. The guy is impressive. He's big, fast, athletic; he's got all the tools. The one thing he doesn't have though is the experience in this company. Damien - if you're listening - this is MY company. I've been here for 12 years! I've done everything there is to do here - and if you're planning on taking this from me… you're going to have to pry it out of my cold dead hands big guy. For as long as my resume is around here, there's one goal I've always wanted to achieve… and that is to become the LONGEST reigning EBWF Champion of all time. So I'll be damned if I'm going to let you come in and keep me from achieving just that.
Riddle: Can't stop... won't stop.
Michael Cole: Diddy bro.
The Miz smiled.
The Miz: So when it comes to the future of The Miz - that's what it's going to entail. It's going to entail me decimating any challenger that steps forward. Me, THE MIZ, decimating every "NEXT BIG THING" that comes my way in this business until it is my name MIKE MIZANIN - that is etched in history as the longest reigning, the all time BEST EBWF Champion in the history of this great company.
The crowd cheered.
The Miz: Which brings me to the second part of me coming out here tonight, and that is to discuss the future of Bro Awesome.
The crowd cheered. Riddle and Cole smiled.
The Miz: Obviously the 3 of us have been a force to be reckoned with. We've captivated, we've entertained, we've been MUST SEE. Since we formed this great group. However, the experience for me hasn't quite been complete. There has just felt consistently like there's something missing. In this company I have done it all, and a lot of friends have come and gone. It's not always easy when you are on an ascension to being the EBWF's top draw. There have been ups and downs with so many different superstars that have crossed my path along the way here. The one thing I've never been afraid to do, is whatever it takes to claim the spot that is rightfully mine. I'm the Greatest that this company has ever seen- and it's REALLY hard to debate that at this stage in the game. So with all of that in mind - I was thinking about my career the other night- thinking about Bro Awesome and where we stood as the biggest thing in the company today - and it hit me... then I shook off the idea... and it hit me... baby... one more time.
Michael Cole: Britney Spears Bro.
The Miz: Bro Awesome just isn't complete - it has never been complete - because there was one person missing and there always has been. This run with these guys - and this title for the 7th time - sums up my excellence - the excellence that has existed for quite some time now. However - for it to really tell my story - for it to be perfect... for it to be whole… Bro Awesome needs this one individual. For Bro Awesome to TRULY become the greatest group in the history of the EBWF - we need one more person - one more individual - who has been my friend... my enemy… and everything in between - but through it all - he's the one man in this company that has danced through the fire.
Michael Cole: Katy Perry bro.
The Miz: And come out on the other side. So without further ado... I'd like to introduce everybody to the newest member of Bro Awesome....
There was a beat and then the word "I AM PHENOMENAL" flashed on the titan tron followed by the familiar "Phenomenal" by CFO$ the crowd ERUPTED with one of the biggest pops ever heard on EBWF Television. AJ Styles exploded through the back with a jacket on that he quickly unzipped to reveal a Bro Awesome T-Shirt underneath. The camera cut to Miz who was excited and clapping for his friend. AJ entered the ring and the crowd started a loud "AJ Styles" chant. Miz and AJ hugged. AJ also fist bumped Riddle. When he got to Cole, the two had a long stare down, which was understandable given their history. Cole popped a bubble while showing no emotion. After a couple of beats, the two men hugged. Which brought a large smile to Miz' face.
AJ Styles: I'm baaaaaaaaaaaackkkkk.
The crowd cheered.
AJ Styles: I couldn't be happier to be here man. Miz and I over the years have broken up, got back together, broken up, got back together.
Michael Cole: Ron and Sam bro.
AJ Styles smiled.
AJ Styles: But this time is different. You see I didn't know if I'd ever even be back in this company, but one thing that never changed was I was always a fan of it. I've been watching over the last several months - and I've seen Miz along with Riddle and Cole entertain the masses week in and week out. I can't tell you how excited I am to come back... to come back... HOME… and join forces with my brother... ONCE MORE. It's going to be... well it's going to be BROOOOOOOOO DAMNNNNN AWEEEESOMEEE!
The crowd popped.
The Miz: Welcome back AJ - welcome to the group that is going to continue to run the EBWF. Welcome to the first day of the future of this company - with a now WHOLE Bro Awesome. Damien Priest wherever you are, wherever you are listening. This is the obstacle that you are now going to have to climb over to get to the top. This is the hurdle. And even though you're a pretty big guy… it's a hurdle that you'll simply never EVER be able to get over.
BECAUSE I'M THE MIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
and we'reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Riddle: BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The Miz and the rest of the group in unision:
AWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSOMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
The crowd cheered loudly as the 4 men raised each other's arms in the middle of the ring as "I Came To Play" echoed over the PA system and Warfare went to commercial.
When Warfare returned from the commercial break, the camera cut to Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness at ringside.
Mauro Ranallo: Up next, it’s time for our main event! The Acclaimed’s Anthony Bowens goes one on one with the despicable Christian Cage!
Anthony Bowens made his way to the ring first, accompanied by Max Caster. Christian Cage came out next, accompanied by Seth Rollins.
Nigel McGuinness: Christian coming out here with backup, presumably fearing retribution from Hook after what he did to Hook’s father Taz last week. However, we understand that Hook is not here tonight. He’s in New York caring for Taz, who we wish a speedy recovery to.
After Christian had entered the ring, the referee called for the bell. Bowens charged towards Christian, tackling him to the ring mat before hitting him with a series of punches. Christian shoved Bowens away and got to his feet, then went for a clothesline, but Bowens ducked underneath it, then grabbed Christian and threw him out of the ring. Bowens followed up with a suicide dive, then dragged Christian towards the announce table.
Mauro Ranallo: Uh oh, Nigel… it looks like our announce table is in danger, and so too is Christian Cage!
Mauro and Nigel backed away from the table as Bowens cleared it, but as he tried to put Christian on the table, Christian hit Bowens with a series of punches, then threw Bowens into the steel steps. Christian followed up with a running knee attack, slamming Bowens’ head into the steps!
Nigel McGuinness: What a sickening thud that was, Mauro! Anthony Bowens might be concussed!
Christian rolled back into the ring as the referee checked on Bowens, who confirmed he was okay to continue. As Bowens slid back into the ring, Christian hit him with a DDT, then hooked the leg. The referee counted - 1… 2… Bowens kicked out! Max Caster shouted words of encouragement to his tag team partner as Christian pulled Bowens to his feet. Christian hit Bowens with a series of punches, then went to whip him into the corner… but Bowens reversed the Irish whip, sending Christian into the corner! Bowens followed up with a flying forearm smash, then sat Christian on the top rope and hit him with a superplex! He hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Christian kicked out! Bowens pulled Christian to his feet and set him up for The Arrival, but Christian blocked it, shoving Bowens into the ropes before hitting him with a big boot. As Bowens hit the mat, Christian stomped on him several times, then pulled Bowens to his feet and hit a brainbuster. Christian hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Bowens kicked out! As Christian got to his feet, he grabbed Bowens by the legs, going for a figure four, but Bowens kicked Christian away and got to his feet. When Bowens was up, Christian went for a clothesline, but Bowens ducked underneath it, then rolled Christian up. The referee counted - 1… 2… Christian kicked out! As both men got to their feet, Bowens whipped Christian against the ropes, then hit him with a Spear! Bowens hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Christian kicked out!
Mauro Ranallo: Anthony Bowens is in control here! What a huge win this would be for him if he can beat Christian!
As Bowens signaled for The Arrival, Seth Rollins climbed onto the ring apron, trying to distract Bowens… but Bowens ignored him, and Max Caster pulled Rollins down off the apron and began brawling with him at ringside! While the referee was dealing with that, Bowens pulled Christian to his feet, but Christian hit Bowens with a low blow! The referee didn’t see it, but he turned around just in time to see Christian hit the Unprettier! Christian hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… 3! The referee called for the bell and raised Christian’s arm in victory. Christian stood over Bowens, smirking, then grabbed Bowens and put him in a half nelson choke!
Nigel McGuinness: Christian using the Redrum, also known as the Tazmission! He’s taunting Hook and Taz, who must be livid if they’re watching!
The referee forced Christian to break the hold, but as Christian got to his feet he shoved the referee away, then grabbed Bowens and threw him out of the ring. Christian was then about to exit the ring, when a man in a black and orange hoodie hopped over the ringside barrier and slid into the ring. The man removed his hood, revealing…
Mauro Ranallo: It’s Hook! He’s here… and Christian Cage is in all kinds of trouble!
For a moment, Christian looked afraid, but he quickly composed himself, then threw a right hand at Hook. Hook blocked it, and hit Christian with a clothesline, then sat on top of Christian and began pummeling him with lefts and rights! Hook then pulled Christian to his feet and hit him with three German suplexes in a row, before rolling out of the ring and grabbing two steel chairs. As he re-entered the ring, Hook placed one of the chairs on the ring mat, then hit Christian several times with the other chair. Hook then placed Christian’s head on the second chair, setting him up for the con-chair-to… but before he could hit it, Seth Rollins pulled Christian out of the ring! The crowd booed, disappointed not to see Christian get a taste of his own medicine.
Nigel McGuinness: Rollins with the save just in time!
As Rollins and Christian retreated up the ramp, Hook grabbed a microphone and began to speak.
Hook: Christian, you owe Seth Rollins a debt… because if he hadn’t intervened just now, I probably would have cracked your skull with these chairs! I want you one on one at Gateway to Glory, but I also don’t want to wait another three weeks to get my hands on you again… so since you need Rollins to have your back now, how about this. Next week, I’ll find a tag team partner and take on both of you… whichever team wins, picks the stipulation for Gateway to Glory. That’s if you’re man enough to show up next week, and if you’re not too afraid to fight me one on one. But I’ll warn you now, Christian… even if you try to run and hide, I’m going to keep coming for you. Forget the sins of the father, the sins of the son… the sins are all yours, and I’m going to be your reckoning.
Hook dropped the microphone, and his music hit as Warfare went off the air.
