Renee Young was backstage with Damian Priest, who had his Gateway Championship title hanging off his belt.

Renee Young: Damian, thanks for giving me the opportunity to speak with you. This will be your first Gateway Championship defense since winning the title. How are you feeling today as we count down to your match with Hook?

Damian Priest: There's a really overused saying, Renee: Stay ready so you don't have to get ready. This might be my first title defense, but that doesn't mean I've been sitting around in catering. When you get into your forties like I am, every minute not improving is a minute aging. And I am just getting into my prime right now. I've seen all the tape on Hook. I've worked on anticipating his moves. But to answer your question, I'm feeling great. And I'm ready to continue this ride back to the EBWF World Championship.

Renee Young: If you are successful in defeating Hook tonight, there will be plenty of opportunities to cash in your Gateway Championship reign for a shot at the EBWF World Championship. With two of your former rivals, The Miz and CM Punk, battling it out over the title, do you expect to insert yourself into that?

Damian Priest: Right now my focus is on Hook. Punk and Miz can come later. Those two can beat the tar out of each other and the ring can swallow them up for all I care. For me to even think about cashing in my title, I have to get past Hook first. I've watched Hook's game. He's smaller, but fast and deceptively strong. The dude has cardio for days and can hit like a tank. I've got nothing but respect for Hook. But tonight ain't his night. Because I'm working as hard as I can to scratch and claw my way back to the spot that I deserve. The EBWF World Championship. I came this close, Renee. This close to beating Randy Orton's record. I'm gonna get back there, and I'm gonna earn that title again, and I'm gonna beat that record. But that road is long, and I'm not there yet. My focus is Hook tonight. And once I plant him in the ring with the Razor's Edge, well...

Damian smirked.

Damian Priest: Let's just say CM Punk and the Miz better watch their asses.

Damian tapped the face plate of his Gateway championship and walked off, leaving Renee to wrap up at the scene cut to black.
