Seven Minutes

OOC: Didn't know if there was an official interviewer of the show, went with Todd Grisham as I saw him in quite a few other RP's. Hope that's fine. :P

A dying light bulb flickers in the dusty utility closet, where Bray Wyatt sits in his home away from home. He leans against the wall and stares blankly at a lighter in his hand. Flicking it on and off, he admires the flame and it's destructive power. Something so small, so seemingly insignificant... but it has the power to destroy things... to end lives... to burn reality itself to the ground. Bray is interrupted by the knocking at the door. Strange, considering the only people who use this utility closet are he and the janitors, who have all but kept their distance from Bray after he'd made himself comfortable here. Bray pockets his lighter and approaches the door, opening it warily to reveal the face of EBWF interviewer Todd Grisham.

"Excuse me, Bray? I'd like to request an interview if I may."

Bray stares blankly back and eyeballs the interviewer. Suit and tie... dressed respectable but not worth even an increment of his respect just because he fell into a cheap suit. No, this relationship would be defined on respect, but it would be respect for him.

"That's Mr. Wyatt to you, boy."

"Uh... s-sorry... Mr. Wyatt, if you'd like to follow me this way, I can show you to our interview area."

Bray sighs and grunts affirmatively as he follows the geeky EBWF interviewer through the bland, generic hallways of the arena to an area with a Warfare Banner and a camera crew already set up and waiting.

"Right, so you know how this works. I'll bring you in."

Todd straightens his tie before taking a step on camera and greeting the invisible audience.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, Bray Wyatt."

Bray decides to let the lack of "Mr." slip for now as he steps up to Todd Grisham. He looks into the eye of the camera... the thought that there were hundreds of thousands, to maybe millions who would see him gave Bray a surge of confidence in getting his message to his people.

"Bray, how have you found your time here in the EBWF so far? Have you set any goals yet for what you want to accomplish while you're here?"

Bray ignores the question, instead pulling out his lighter and a thin cylindrical object from his pocket. He holds the cylinder up and speaks.

"This here is a cigarillo. It's more than a cigarette but it ain't quite a cigar. Some folks call it the seven minute smoke, 'cause it only lasts about that long. That's how long I'm giving you and the folks at home. Now 'scuse me a second."

Bray takes his lighter and lights the cigarillo, before placing it in his mouth and taking a drag.

"Hey! You can't smoke in here, it's against the law!"

Bray smirks with his teeth bared, cigarillo in the corner of his mouth.

"Call the cops."

Todd Grisham quietly retracts his protest as Bray removes the cigarillo from his mouth and blows out the smoke.

"Now last week, I set the world of EBWF on fire when I showed myself... not in the flesh, but with the mere image of my presence. And some folks on the internet machine started talkin'... the fellas in the locker room started whisperin'... and incompetent interviewers like Todd Grisham started askin' about Bray Wyatt, ponderin' 'What's his game? What's he plannin' man?' Now I can't just go ahead and tell you what I'm thinkin'... no, that'd be givin' away the magician's secrets... but good things come to those who wait... and believe. "

Bray Wyatt chuckles as he taps his cigarillo, ashes falling to the ground.

"Alright, fair enough. Now this week you're set to debut in a match against Dolph Ziggler. He's already gone on record and touted his professional achievements over you. Your thoughts on your opponent?"

Bray sighs, as he was preparing for another drag but was interrupted by another incessant question.

"Dolph likes to think himself a real 'showoff'... that he wants all eyes to be on him. Dolph, I'm gonna grant your wish, man... all eyes will indeed be upon you... as you get carried out of the ring on a stretcher. Because I'm making an example of you, to be set for the rest of the roster on what happens when you stand in Bray Wyatt's way. Don't get me wrong, oh no... I ain't doin' it out of malice or hate; I'm doing it because I love you man."

Chuckling again, he takes a drag and blows a ring of smoke.

"So you won a few more matches and a couple of titles in your time. You think that impresses me man? Dolph, I created the universe and everything in it. That includes you and that includes your little achievements. Everything you've ever done in your life is because I've allowed it to be so. How's that for an accomplishment?"

He chuckles again, as Todd Grisham clears his throat awkwardly.

"I suppose that leads me into my next question. Dolph has also gone on record to call you 'insane'. Your thoughts?"

Bray's expression goes from his calm, cool and collected demeanor to a more serious one.

"Y'know who else they called insane? The one who invented the wheel, the one who said the Earth was round, the one who split the atom, the one who said "Hey, let's get on a hunk of metal and fly it to the moon". People who changed the world and the way we perceive it. So when you say that I'm insane, I look to you with all sincerity..."

Bray removes his hat and holds it over his heart.

"And I say thank you."

Bray returns his hat to his head, before speaking again.

"Dolph, you're gonna look back on what happened and thank me too... because I opened up your eyes... because I made you realize that as good as you think you are, that you can't even begin to compare to me. You'll come to believe in Bray Wyatt... and all that he is... was... and ever will be."

Bray begins to stroke his beard with his free hand.

"Now I could be merciful and make it quick... but I don't think you'd learn that way. I could take my time and REALLY make you hurt... but every time I hurt you, it only hurts me more man. No, I think if I really wanna get my message through to you... I think it'll take..."

Bray raises his cigarillo to his face and examines it.

"Seven minutes."

He chuckles, raising it higher in the air as the smoke alarms finally detect the smoke. Sprinklers on the roof begin to spray, soaking Bray and Todd along with the camera crew. Bray drops the cigarillo to the ground and grinds it with his foot before raising his arms outwards and bowing his head.

"Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime... is on my side..."

Todd Grisham, picking up that the interview is over finally speaks up as he removes his glasses and jacket to avoid getting them more wet.

"Alright, cut! Damn it Bray..."

"We done here?"

"I guess so. Ugh... this suit cost me a whole week's paycheck..."

"Then I bid you good day sir."

Bray, feeling satisfied with the interview, wanders back through the generic and nondescript hallways and returns to his home away from home, the utility closet. He lies against the wall, pulls out his lighter and begins flicking it on and off again, admiring the flame. Something so small, so seemingly insignificant... but it has the power to destroy things... to end lives... to burn reality itself to the ground... and that's just what Bray Wyatt planned to do.

Liked that a lot. Honestly, I don't watch NXT so I don't know how Bray's character is portrayed there, but I enjoyed a lot reading this because you made Bray look as a really good and kinda intimidating competitor. Anyway, I don't know why I lol'd at this: "No, I think if I really wanna get my message through to you... I think it'll take... Seven minutes.".
