Focused For Redemption

Thursday April, 25 | Center of EBWF Ring

.:: Damien Sandow is seen in the center of the EBWF wrestling ring. From the balcony camera you can see the arena is empty and mostly dark except the ring which is illuminated by spotlights through the arena. Sandow is wearing blue athletic shorts and a plain white sleeveless shirt. He runs off the ropes a couple of times and then slides out of the ring. He picks up a chair and then slides back into the ring and sets the chair up in the center of the ring. He takes a seat in the chair. A camera man is in the ring with him and his camera feed is picked up. Sandow is seen sitting in the steel chair breathing heavily. His hair is wet and his shirt is soaked with sweat. Sandow takes a few deep breathes then begins to speak as he looks down at the mat. ::.

Damien Sandow: Focus; a central point, as of attraction, attention, or activity. My first couple of matches I had focus. I was focused on what mattered and what would get me to the top of this company. However, the weeks that followed, that focus was lost. It became less and less about cleansing unwashed masses and winning matches, and more and more about underestimating my opponents and catering to the ignorant EBWF Universe. From this moment on I am going back to basics. From this moment on, my sole focus is on cleansing and winning.

.:: Sandow takes a couple of breaths and reaches under his chair where he pulls a water bottle. He takes a couple of swigs of water and puts the bottle back down on the mat. ::.

Damien Sandow: *Smiling* You know, you work so hard to get to the point where you can say you are a superstar of a prominent wrestling business. *Smile fades* The long days training in smelly dirty gyms. The matches you wrestle in high school gymnasiums in front of 160 people. The lonely nights of traveling to wherever so you can to find a match to wrestle. Anybody that knows me will never say I have not worked my ass off to get to where I am today. All those things I mentioned; the gyms, the lonely travel, the unwashed masses would take those as a negative. I embraced them all. I knew that with my hard work, and my focus, that one day I would be where I am today. I only realized today that I am throwing all of that hard work and dedication away. Flushing it down the EBWF toilet.

.:: Sandow pauses for a moment then continues. ::.

Damien Sandow: Speaking of the unwashed masses .:: Sandow looks up from to mat to the camera. ::. Yeah, all you ignorant imbeciles. Starting today I will teach you and lead you down the path of knowledge. Why follow me? Why should I be followed? In these times of defeat and lack of focus, I accept the responsibility. I don't put it off to luck or to misfortune. I am in a rut. And I am in a rut because of my lack of focus. While you deadbeats would blame it on bad luck, or, wrong place at the wrong time, I take it head on. This is why I am where I am today, and you all pay to see me. Instead of making excuses and pushing it off, I learn from my mistakes. I look in to why bad things are happening, and I change them. The last three weeks could have been the biggest three weeks of my career. I could have won the Breakout Championship at Wrestlemania, Charisma & Intelligence could have inserted themselves as a force to be reckoned with, and last week I had a chance to shut up an egocentric idiot who does nothing but runs his mouth. But alas, I blew it. I take the blame for all of those defeats. I take the blame for the lack of focus. So, instead of being like all of you and accepting the fact that I am a loser, I am here doing something about it. I have been here, in this empty arena, working harder than ever before. And do you know what happens to people that work hard?

.:: At this time a video montage starts playing. The video shows Damien Sandow hitting random moves on wrestlers and then shows him hitting his finishing move. The video finishes up with a couple clips and Sandow getting his hand rose in the air in victory. ::.

Damien Sandow: Of course none of you know what happens to people that work hard. None of you have worked hard for anything a day in your lives! To answer the question, good things happen to those who work hard. Like I said earlier, these past weeks I have been the biggest failure in this company. I have stunk up this ring and I have released terribly boring and UN motivated promos. But after my loss last week to Dolph Ziggler, while I was sitting in the locker room all by myself, I realized what I had to do. I got up and I went and kicked in management’s door and I demanded another match. I demanded another chance to prove myself against Dolph Ziggler. When I realized I had just barged in to Jericho's office I thought I would go all out. So while I was there I demanded another shot a Tensai. And he must have seen the focus in my eyes because not only did he give me another shot at both of those men, he made the pot sweeter by adding in the Breakout Championship.

.:: Sandow again reaches down and grabs the bottle of water. This time he drinks the rest of the bottle and tosses it aside. ::.

Damien Sandow: So, unwashed mass of the EBWF Universe, if there was ever a time to follow Damien Sandow it is now. Follow me to Monday night where I have the biggest match of my young career. Follow me now and I will forgive you for not following when you had the chance before. Walk with me on this path of redemption and intelligence, and when Monday comes to an end, we shall all be redeemed! And while all of you will want to thank me, I assure you there is no need. Without any thanks I tell you, you’re welcome!

.:: Sandow stands up and folds the chair he was sitting in. He walks over and tosses the chair over the ropes and it slams on to the outside of the ring. Sandow returns to the center of the ring and begins to run off the ropes from side to side as the camera fades. ::.

.:: End ::.
