Kofi: Ladies and gentleman I want to thank you all for coming today, I am happy to announce I officially begin my journey into the EBWF on June 12th as I take on Mick Foley in Springfield, Illinois. I’ve worked my whole life for this opportunity and I can’t believe it’s finally here. My whole wrestling career I feel I’ve been a fake, my name is Kofi Kingston a proud West African residing in Ghana, I am not and never will be Kofi Kingston of Jamaica! I now find myself wrestling not only for myself but also my country that I have a renewed love for, a country I was once ashamed to call home. I am now open to any questions.
Reporter 1: How does it feel that your EBWF debut takes place in their annual KOTR tournament?
Kofi: It’s an amazing opportunity; the timing was just right with my contract being finalized in June when the KOTR tournament comes around. I see this as the perfect opportunity to show what my dear country Ghana has to offer and that WE ARE THE SUPERIOR COUNTRY!
Reporter 2: What are your thoughts on your opponent Mick Foley?
Kofi: Foley? He’s nothing but a drunk who’s standing in the way of glory for Ghana. He may have recently sealed a number one contender spot for the Breakout Championship but that means nothing right now, I’m going to beat Foley on the 12th, I’m going to win this tournament, and then I’m going to take that Breakout Championship.
Reporter 3: Do you feel that you are over looking Foley’s talents a bit? He has a decorated past and is a proven talent in the ring.
Kofi: And am I not a proven talent? Have you not seen my training sessions? Do you not know my past? I’ve grown up in a troubled, ruthless Western Africa; I was forced to leave my family behind to pursue my dream between the ropes. I promised my family I will be on top of this business and I will bring them to America and bring glory back to Ghana where it belongs. No amount of skill can overcome my heart and motivation. I’m smarter than Foley, I’m stronger than Foley, I’m more athletic than Foley and in fact I have more support than Foley, I have a whole country behind me, now how can you beat that? Do not mistake my confidence for incompetence.
Reporter 4: What is this newfound passion for your home country of Ghana?
Kofi: I’ve told you already. My family is there, I was raised there, I honed my skills there, no gyms, no arenas, just fields that went on for miles, Ghana made me who I am today and I was blind to that. I refused to believe this at first, but now I see the light, the light of my beautiful country, Ghana. Now I must leave you, as I must continue my preparation. I look forward to talking to you all after my match on the 12th .
